Chapter 119: Field trip (14)
When we walked back, I found that everything was still frozen like before.
As expected of the high elf ancestor that created this EXP dungeon in the first place.
The level of her time spell really was on a different level that it was able to keep everything frozen for this long.
It was just that eventually time would have to flow.
"I suppose that this is goodbye for now. Once I release the time spell, the monsters will start moving again. However, I have made it so that they will be a bit stiff compared to usual. Call it a small helping hand." Fae said with a smile as she moved to her position from before.
I couldn't help shaking my head with a faint smile before saying, "Are you sure that there's no other advice that you want to give? Anything that you want me to give to your descendant?"
"There's no need, we've already connected on a deeper level. So that means that she already knows everything that happened and I've already given her advice on how to become stronger in the future."
"She'll know everything?" I couldn't help slowly asking.
"Take care of her for me. You seem like you would be good friends." She just said with the same smile.
In the end, I didn't get to say anything as time suddenly started to move again.
When it did, I had no choice but to focus on all of the monsters that were around us.
I could have taken care of them when time was frozen, but it would have been too strange for the monsters to suddenly die like this.
So instead, I used a bit more power than before and a giant flame wall around us.
The teachers were all surprised to see this, but they didn't waste time in supporting me.
With this giant flame wall in place, all of the boss monsters that were there were pushed back. Even the super boss monster that was leading them seemed to be pushed back because of this.
Though when I looked more closely, I could see that there was something strange about that super boss monster.
It seemed like it was completely out of it.
I didn't even need to think to guess that it was most likely the high elf ancestor who had done something to that super boss monster. So while it was still stunned like that, it was best for me to…
"Pop, pop, pop."
There were three things that popped on the body of the super boss monster as I shot three arrows at once.
Since that super boss monster was a mix of different animals, it actually had three different heads like some kind of strange cerberus. But all three of those heads popped the moment that my arrows hit them.
Once the super boss monster was taken down, it was as if the other boss monsters lost their mind. It was as if whatever had been guiding them along before suddenly disappeared and they became a headless chicken.
As such, there was no more coordinated attack that came from them.
At the same time, it was clear that they were moving in a stiff manner just like the high elf ancestor said.
That just made it even easier for me to take them all down with a single arrow each. All of their heads popped as soon as the arrows hit them.
It was just like before, so there wasn't much to be surprised by.
But the teachers looked at me with strange looks as I took down these boss monsters.
As expected of the teachers, their senses were sharper than others and they could tell that there was something off about the monsters. They could tell that the boss monsters weren't acting the same way as they were before.
But even if they could sense that something was off, it wasn't as if they could tell exactly what it was.
That was just how high level the magic of the high elf ancestor was.
When it was over, the teachers all let out a sigh of relief.
This had been too much even for the teachers.
If I hadn't been here, then things might have ended differently.
"Good work." Nerina said, but I could see the way that she was looking at me.
That was why I suddenly fell to the ground and started panting.
Seeing this, the teachers seemed a bit more relieved since this at least made it seem like I was normal. At the same time, it gave them the excuse to sneak off to take a look at the temple without me.
Though it wasn't as if I had a reason to go now that I had already gotten what I wanted from this place.
During this time, I could see the strange way that Fae was looking at me.
It was clear that she knew what happened and there were instructions that she had received from the high elf ancestor. Though there was certainly something different about the way that she looked at me.
It was so off that she was dragged off by Nimue and Rania in the end who seemed like they wanted to interrogate her.
When the teachers that had been sent out came back, there were strange looks on their faces.
Though they were trying to keep it quiet, I could hear what they were discussing.
"There's nothing off. It's all running as normal."
That was the reason why they were all confused.
I already knew that this would be the case since I had gone with the high elf ancestor to fix it all.
In the end, they searched the area as well and found that there were no more of those boss monsters.
So the teachers looked confused about all of this.
After all, it was as if the problem had suddenly fixed itself.
But since there was nothing here, there was nothing that they could do.
"We're heading back now." Nerina said, but the confusion in her voice was clear.
Still, I didn't mind since I had gotten everything that I wanted already.
