Chapter 130: Vampires (7)
"What did you say?"
"Boom! Crack!"
Right after these words were said, there was a fist that cracked the table that was in the middle of the room.
There was one person that was standing while the rest of the people in the room were sitting.
As well, there was one person that had fallen on his butt at the entrance of this room, clearly having been scared by the person that had shattered this table.
After a long silence, the one person that was standing said, "Say what you just said again!"
The person who was on his butt on the ground looked like he was about to burst into tears when he heard the way that this person said this, but it wasn't as if there was anything that he could do.
He had already said everything that he could say, so there's nothing else that he could offer at this point.
"Damon, calm down."
One of the people that had been sitting suddenly spoke.
The moment that they did, the one who was standing that had been called Damon turned to look at one that spoke. Damon narrowed his eyes before suddenly saying, "You're telling me to calm down? If it was your son that was captured, would you be acting the same way, Morgan?"
The one that had been called Morgan just looked right back at him without any fear before saying, "Is there anything to gain from acting like this? Even if you get angry at him, will it change the facts?"
Damon narrowed his eyes even more before suddenly turning to look at the person that spoke. But in the end, he sat down again as he knew that Morgan was right when he said this.
Instead of taking it out on Morgan, he raised his hand to point at the person that was on the ground.
The way that he held his hand out was as if he was grabbing at something.
When he did this, it was as if there was this invisible hand that grabbed the neck of the person that was on the ground and lifted him off the ground.
"Wait, please spare…"
He didn't get to finish what he wanted to say as he suddenly exploded into blood.
The way that he died was as if there was something that had crushed him.
At the same time, the hand that Damon had been holding up was now closed.
There wasn't a single person at this table that said anything about the death of this person since this person was nothing more than a normal vampire. For a group of pureblooded vampires like them, they were nothing more than slaves for them to use.
They didn't care about the death of a single vampire like this.
But when it came to Damon's son Malphis, that was a completely different story.
Every single pureblood vampire was an important part of the vampire tribe, they represented the power that the vampire tribe possessed. So each pureblooded vampire that they lost meant that the overall of the vampire tribe would decrease.
Seeing that Damon had finally calmed down, Morgan suddenly said, "Putting aside the blood factory, the most important thing is to rescue Malphis. We can't lose one of our talented young purebloods like this."
Damon slammed the wreckage of the table again before saying, "That's right! If you dare abandon my son…"
He didn't finish his words, but the implication behind them were clear.
No one cared that he said this as they focused on Morgan.
Morgan also ignored Damon as he continued, "It's clear that the other side knows about our vampire tribe or else they never would have been able to capture one of our younger purebloods like this. That means that we have to be careful in our manner of dealing with them."
All of the purebloods at the table slightly knitted their brows and nodded in agreement.
But one of them still asked, "Still, if we let them get away with this…"
The others also seemed like they were incited when they heard this.
Morgan understood what they meant by this, so he said, "We won't let them get away."
The others nodded in agreement before waiting to see what Morgan had planned.
With a sigh, Morgan said, "It was my fault for underestimating them in the first place. If we had sent a proper force to begin with, then none of this would have happened."
Damon narrowed his eyes again to look at Morgan, but it seemed like his gaze wasn't as strong as before. It seemed that Morgan's words did have an effect on him, especially since Morgan was one of the eldest purebloods out there.
The influence that he had in the vampire tribe wasn't something to trifle at.
With a cold look on his face, Morgan suddenly said, "I'll be leading an assault team myself this time. I won't allow a single mistake to be made."
Damon seemed pleasantly surprised when he heard this since he knew how strong Morgan was.
But the other purebloods didn't seem as happy.
Instead, they looked at Morgan with a worried look as if they were worried that something might happen to him if he went.
"I know what you're thinking, but we can't show any negligence here. As such, I will take responsibility and solve this matter personally. I hope that you will leave this matter to me."
After he said this, he turned to look at Damon.
Damon nodded, but he said, "I'm coming too."
Morgan gave a nod as well since he had already expected this, but he said, "You'll have to follow my orders if you come along. I know that you're worried about your son, but you should know that anything you do has the potential to cause him harm."
Damon seemed to hesitate a bit when he heard this, but eventually he nodded in agreement.
With that, Morgan said, "Then I'll be off. I'll be sure to bring back good news."
