Chapter 131: Vampires (8)
"What have you found?"
There was a silence that followed this question, but eventually the vampire reported, "We haven't been able to find anything. It's as if there's something there that's blocking our powers…"
"You're saying that you haven't found my son yet?" Damon didn't hold back at all as he grabbed the vampire that had been on one knee and lifted him off the ground.
Holding him up, it really seemed like Damon wanted to tear this vampire apart.
But in the end, Morgan stopped him from doing so.
Even if Damon didn't seem willing, he had no choice but to drop that vampire back down in the end. However, that didn't mean that he stopped glaring at the vampire that he dropped on the ground.
Morgan gave a sigh before saying, "So you're saying that there was some kind of power that stopped you from peeking into the factory?"
The vampire nodded before lowering his head as if he was afraid to look up.
Morgan didn't mind as a look of thought filled his face.
There was a reason why this vampire had been chosen to scout out the factory. This vampire was actually a special subordinate of his that he had brought along because he thought that he would be able to help.
After all, this vampire had a special ability that allowed him to create bats made of blood that would let him scout out any place that he wanted to.
For his power to be blocked like this, it was clear that the other side wasn't simple.
Adding in the fact that they had been able to capture Malphis who was a pureblood…
"We really can't underestimate the enemy. It seems that they've come prepared. It seems that they've been plotting against our vampire tribe for a long time." Morgan couldn't help muttering in a heavy voice.
The other vampires didn't dare say anything, but that didn't mean that Damon didn't dare.
"It doesn't matter. As long as you and I work together, what can they do against us?"
He really seemed impatient, showing just how much he cared about his son.
But Morgan shook his head and said, "No, that is just what they want. If you act rashly, all that will happen in the end is that your son will be killed by them."
Damon deeply knitted his brows when he heard this.
If it was anyone else that said this, then he really would have gone all out against them.
But since it was Morgan who said this, he had no choice but to force himself to calm down.
In a deep voice, he asked, "What are you suggesting then?"
Though he seemed like he had calmed down, there was no hiding the impatience that was in his voice. He really wanted to charge into the factory this very second and save his son that had been captured by the enemy.
Morgan knew this as well, so he didn't delay any longer since he didn't think he would be able to hold Damon back any longer.
"Send the half breeds in waves to attack the factory. We can't think about how many we'll lose this time. We'll just have to use numbers to distract them or else we'll suffer more serious losses. In the end, we can always use the blood ritual to create more half breeds."
The vampires behind him nodded in response to this order from him before heading off to take care of this order.
Morgan and Damon just watched as a bunch of vampires suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
Though these weren't really vampires that were on the same level as normal vampires.
These were half vampires that were created through the blood ritual, which was a ritual that forced vampire blood into creatures of other races. Those that survived the ritual would gain the powers of a vampire, but they would also be suppressed by the blood of the vampire.
Once they received the blood of a vampire, what happened was that their will was controlled by it.
Any higher rank vampire such as a full blooded vampire would be able to control them.
Not to mention purebloods like Morgan and Damon.
So these half vampires really had no choice but to listen to these orders and charge without fear at the factory. Though in reality, they didn't want to die and were afraid of death.
It was just that there was nothing that they could do about it.
Morgan and Damon had been waiting for something to happen, but what they expected to see didn't happen in the end. Instead, the thing that happened completely caught them off guard since they didn't expect it.
"Why are they stopping?" Morgan slowly muttered as he watched the half vampires stop right before they reached the factory.
In fact, it didn't take long for the half vampires to suddenly turn around and create a line around the factory. With the way that they stood around the factory, it even seemed like they were actually forming some kind of defensive line around it.
It was as if they had betrayed them to help the enemy.
But that didn't make sense at all since the vampire blood should have completely suppressed them. The vampire blood should have made them unable to do anything other than listen to their orders.
"Attack!" Morgan suddenly shouted at the half vampires that were standing around the factory.
This was a shout that contained the full prestige that he possessed as one of the pureblooded elder vampires. There were few that had the same level of pure vampire blood as he did.
This shout should have been enough to convince the half vampires to move.
However…
"What is happening?" Morgan said in a shocked voice when he saw that none of the half vampires moved a single muscle.
Whoever had stopped the half vampires was so strong that it actually made them immune to his orders.
The only one that could do that was another pureblooded vampire that had a higher concentration of pure vampire blood.
