Hero or Villain, Both

Chapter 138: Sixth avatar

"It seems like it would be a good time to make a sixth avatar. With how everyone's growing, we do need a supporter that will help us all."

"Agreed."

There was no hesitation at all from the different avatars as they said this.

All of them immediately agreed with this proposal that I made, but then again…it wasn't as if we were separate beings.

Since we were all connected by our shared senses, we already all knew what I was thinking.

Now that we had created different bases all over the continent, there was one thing that was necessary. It was that we needed an organization that would be able to provide support from the shadows for all of us.

In short, we needed something that would be able to connect us all.

Even if we wanted to share things, it wasn't as if it would be that easy since we had different positions that we had to consider. After all, it wasn't as if we were all on the same side.

The hardest ones to work together were the demon king and the hero.

It wasn't as if the two of them could be seen cooperating with each other.

So there had to be some kind of support network that would allow us to send the things that we needed to each other. It would be the kind of support network that would be able to do all the things that couldn't be done in the open.

For something like that, the best choice would be to create a merchant persona.

Merchants could do things that normal people couldn't as long as they had enough wealth. For them the most important thing was who they could buy out.

But at the same time…

"If we do this, we'll all have to pitch in to help give this new avatar an advantage. Only if they have special products will they be able to make a name for themselves."

The other avatars once again agreed without any hesitation.

For them, it was easy to send things like this since they had already established their bases of power.

Since they all agreed with this, then there was nothing left to say.

Though in reality, there was no need for me to ask them this in the first place since we were all the same person.

If one of us was thinking it, there was no doubt that the rest of us would be thinking the same thing.

So the fact that I was thinking this should have already been enough.

"Now it's all about what identity to give him…" I muttered to myself as I started going through the character creation screen.

Since he would be a merchant, it was all about giving him the right attributes.

"Even without giving him any fighting attributes, he should be strong enough. So in the end, this should be an avatar that will help the rest of us boost our intelligence." I said while fiddling with the slide panel.

In the end, I was satisfied with the character that I had made and pressed confirm.

Once I pressed the confirm button, the sixth avatar appeared in front of me.

The moment that this avatar appeared, the first thing that it did was look at me with a bitter smile and asked, "Why didn't you give me any combat abilities at all?"

I looked right back at him and said, "Well, you don't need it, do you? You already have more than enough power from the shared stats from the rest of us, so there's no need for you to have your own power."

He looked back at me with the same bitter smile before saying, "It's still strange not having any abilities of my own."

"Who said that you don't have any abilities? I gave you the best ones possible for your role."

With another bitter laugh, he said, "Is this what I needed or just what you wanted?"

I didn't say anything in response to this.

After all, it wasn't as if we hadn't gained anything from this new avatar.

The one thing that the avatar creation screen had that was an advantage over everything else in this world was that it had the ability to give any skill that one wanted.

As such, there were some skills that were hard to obtain that could be obtained easily from there. It was different from where one would need to grind a long time just to receive the skills that they wanted.

So when creating the new avatar, I might have put a few skills that were extras into the new avatar.

But these skills would definitely be useful to the new avatar in its journey as a merchant.

Charisma was one of the most important things that one could have when being a merchant.

So it wasn't as if it was a bad thing to max out this new avatar's charisma.

The effect that it would spread to the rest of us through the Shared Stats Skill was just an added benefit.

In the end, the new avatar seemed to have given up on trying to complain and just said, "Which domains do you want me to focus on first?"

I thought about it before saying, "The demon world and the wilderness."

The avatar couldn't help shaking his head with a smile when he heard this, but he also gave a nod in the end to show that he understood.

When it came to who needed the most resources right now, it was indeed Val Zahad and Conan.

Val Zahad was developing his forces in the demon territory, so he would need resources to help with that.

At the same time, Conan was developing the town in the wilderness and he would also need resources for that.

Compared to the other avatars that had support, they were in a far worse position.

As for Faust…the only thing that he needed was dead bodies and it wasn't as if this was something that a merchant could provide.
