I wanted to go in myself to see what was giving that baron that kind of confidence.

Elder Arun didn't seem like he was keen to have this happen, but I just said, "I'll be the safest with you, right?"

So in the end, he had no choice but to bring me in.

Once we were in the manor, there was no one that noticed us.

It wasn't as if this manor was empty.

Since this was the place where that baron dared to keep the elven slaves, it was only natural that it would be guarded. At the same time, since there were elven slaves here, there were far more guards here than usual.

But even with all of the guards walking around, they just didn't see us enter at all.

With the darkness spirit keeping us hidden, we walked right past these guards.

So that was why it was best to just sneak past them instead of taking them out.

After sneaking past the guards, we were able to find the place where the elven slaves were being kept. Only it wasn't just the elven slaves that were being kept in this place.

In the eyes of these people, it didn't matter what race a slave came from.

A slave was a slave.

It was nothing more than merchandise for them to sell, so they just mixed them all up together.

Only after identifying where the slaves were did it seem like Elder Arun was about to take action. The punisher squad had already gotten into place during the time they were searching for the slaves.

Now that they had found where the slaves were, the only thing that was left to do was to punish these people and take them all down while freeing the slaves.

As for the baron that was responsible for all of this, he didn't hold back at all.

He had made quite a bit of noise since he was in his room having fun with some women. Though these women didn't seem to be the slaves that he had gathered to sell.

It seemed that he was someone that didn't touch his own merchandise.

Though it wasn't as if that made him a better person since he was a slave dealer in the first place.

In the end, he was still nothing more than scum that dealt in human beings.

But before Elder Arun could give the order to take them out.

"Wait, let me check out one more thing." I suddenly said.

Elder Arun was caught off guard when I suddenly asked this before he narrowed his eyes to look at me and asked, "What else is there to see? We've already found the victims and we just need to take care of the culprit."

"I just have a bad feeling. Let me check one last thing quickly." I said in a firm voice.

Elder Arun narrowed his eyes to look at me even more, but he eventually gave in when he saw the stern look on my face. He could tell that he wasn't going to convince me, so he would just go along with what I wanted.

After all, it would be safer if he came with me.

The place that I wanted to go was the study of the baron.

Once we were there, I didn't waste any time looking for things in this place.

With my mana sense, I was able to find the hidden spots in this study with ease.

When Elder Arun looked at me with a questioning look, the excuse that I gave was that I had done things like this in the past during my mercenary days.

He still looked at me with one brow raised after hearing this, but he didn't ask too many questions in the end since he respected my privacy in this matter.

After these places had been found, I didn't waste any time looking over the documents that were hidden. However, I was disappointed by what I saw since none of them had the information that I wanted.

The only information that was on these documents was the records of his finances in the slave trade.

This might be useful for others, but it wasn't useful for me.

Elder Arun was one of those people since he would be able to use this to track down others that had been involved. It seemed that there was a bigger ring that had other investors that were interested in trading elven slaves as well.

It seemed that this matter wouldn't be over just by taking down this baron.

But that didn't matter to me since the people that were listed there weren't that powerful.

Or at least they weren't powerful enough that it would give the baron confidence to go against the elf race.

I was disappointed, but I continued searching the hidden spots that held documents.

That was until I came to the final spot.

The moment that I opened it, I was surprised by what I saw.

However, when Elder Arun came over, I just said, "It's nothing. I was just surprised by the amount of funds that he had gathered from this."

Inside this safe was a large amount of gold.

Elder Arun narrowed his eyes to look at this gold before giving a snort and saying, "It's all dirty money. It needs to be destroyed…but it can be used to help give the victims a better life after this."

While he was taking the gold, what he didn't notice was me hiding something.
