Chapter 212: Status Update

Chapter 212 - Status Update

On the first day, Mahiro made a record, reaching the deepest floor ever achieved by a rookie.

And even earning 200,000 valis.

This amount was equivalent to what a team of level 2 adventurers could earn.

Such success was impossible without dangerous battles against monsters.

The growth of an adventurer comes from constantly honing their skills and improving through battles.

Hestia now eagerly wanted to see how much Mahiro had grown in just one day.

Hephaestus was equally curious too.

One of the reasons the gods descended to the lower world was their boredom with the stagnant, unchanging life above.

They sought excitement, something new and unknown, in the lower world.

It had been over a thousand years since they arrived.

During that time, the gods created falna and nurtured countless adventurers, witnessing their rise and fall.

Many of these adventurers possessed extraordinary talent.

But among them, Mahiro stood out as unique.

A prodigy like Mahiro was undoubtedly the first of his kind.

Even gods, who had seen countless wonders, couldn't help but feel an urge to uncover his secrets.

Hephaestus was no exception.

However, Mahiro belonged to Hestia.

And Hephaestus wasn't a goddess who enjoyed prying into the affairs of her friend.

Exploring the abilities of another Familia much less Hestia's was troublesome and she didn't want to cause trouble for her.

So, though Hephaestus's curiosity lingered, she quickly suppressed it.

"It's about time, Hestia," Hephaestus said with a smile. "You can leave work now."

Seeing her friend's attitude, Hestia nodded knowingly.

"Mahiro, let's go upstairs," Hestia lead him to the second floor.

Hephaestus shop has two floors.

The ground floor housed the weapon shop, while the first floor served as living quarters.

Though not as grand as a mansion, the place was cozy and well-furnished.

Hestia led Mahiro into her room.

"Alright, Mahiro, take off your clothes," Hestia giggled softly.

Her expression seemed almost out of place on the face of a goddess.

She stared at Mahiro expectantly.

Mahiro rolled his eyes.

Her behavior made him feel like he was being scrutinized by a pervert.

Reluctantly, he removed his shirt and lay face down on the bed.

His bare back revealed the falna etched into his skin.

As Mahiro settled, Hestia climbed onto his back, sitting lightly atop him.

Feeling her near-weightless presence and the warmth of her touch, Mahiro closed his eyes in comfort.

After a day spent exploring the dungeon, he felt mentally and physically drained.

This allowed him to unwind completely.

Hestia pricked her finger with a fine needle she had prepared.

A drop of her blood beaded on her fingertip before she let it fall onto Mahiro's back.

A faint blue light shimmered across his back.

The sacred words seemed to come alive, glowing softly as they shifted and rearranged themselves under Hestia's guidance.

When the updated status appeared before her, Hestia looked astonished.

She had mentally prepared herself, but the reality still caught her off guard.

Her hands trembled slightly as she reconfirmed the numbers, ensuring there were no mistakes.

Finally, she let out a small sigh of relief.

"What's wrong, Hestia?" Mahiro asked, sensing her shift in mood.

"Nothing."

"Alright," Mahiro said with a yawn.

"My status probably didn't improve much, right?"

He sounded nonchalant, knowing he hadn't defeated many monsters that day.

He didn't expect anything.

Hestia's expression grew complicated. "Take a look for yourself."

She placed a parchment, letting the status details in known language.

Once the process was done, she handed the parchment to Mahiro, lying down beside him to view it together.

As Hestia moved closer, Mahiro smiled helplessly and turned his attention to the paper.

And then...

"It seems I've improved quite a bit."

"Quite a bit?"

Hestia smiled before hugging him again.

"This isn't just an improvement—it's outright abnormal!"

"These numbers are already at the threshold for rank up."
