Hiruzen persuaded me to die

Chapter 77: Chapter 77 – The Treaty’s a Joke? Then Tear It Up and Try Again!

The mountain, now freed from the gravitational control of the Tenseigan, finally unleashed the true pressure of its colossal mass.

Its cross-section—neatly sheared by the Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion—screeched as it carved through the air, plummeting like divine retribution.

Far below, the people of Cloud Shinobi Village, who had barely begun evacuating, looked up in horror as the shadow loomed.

They froze.

Eyes wide. Breath stuck in their throats.

"Bi! Bi! Snap out of it!!"

Deep within Killer Bee's subconscious, the voice of Gyūki, the Eight Tails, roared in panic.

Killer Bee's eyes snapped open.

The wind pressure from the falling mountain alone was enough to crush the ground under Gyūki's massive body.

"Shit!"Killer Bee cursed to himself.

A hurriedly-formed, small Tailed Beast Bomb began to condense in front of his mouth—but he'd already lost too much time. The realization struck: he never expected a second mountain to be dropped, let alone had enough time to react.

The purple-black Tailed Beast Bomb shot forth like a desperate prayer. It managed to pierce the base of the falling mountain—but it was too small. It left a hole surrounded by cracking stone, but it didn't slow the descent at all.

BOOM!!

The mountain came down.

Crushing.

Engulfing.

The Raikage Building and Gyūki's massive form were both swallowed by the impact. An entire quadrant of Cloud Shinobi Village was flattened.

The already fractured interior of the mountain exploded outward on impact, pulverizing the surrounding buildings in a thunderous cascade of stone and chakra-shredded debris.

A long silence followed.

And then—

CRASH!

Chunks of debris shifted and buckled, and from beneath the ruins, a glowing, rubber-like barrier burst apart. Out stumbled Fourth Raikage, bruised but alive, followed by Dodai and a few Anbu shinobi.

When the mountain hit, Dodai had reacted just in time, using his Lava Style to form a rubber-like protective shield over them all. It saved their lives—barely.

Moments later, the battered Gyūki arched upward from the debris, pushing the mountain's wreckage away with a final burst of effort. Killer Bee, unconscious, dropped to the ground like a broken doll, forced out of his Tailed Beast state.

Then—

Clap. Clap.

A slow, mocking applause echoed from above.

Descending through the smoke, the pale blue figure of Hyuga Naraku emerged.

The barrier protecting the village was gone. Cloud Shinobi Village now lay exposed.

"Bi! Damn it… You bastard… I'll kill you!"

Raikage's voice cracked with rage. Seeing his younger brother lying lifeless on the ground, he exploded in fury and rushed at Naraku.

"Lord Raikage!"

Dodai quickly reacted, forming a massive rubber wall in front of him. Raikage slammed into it, bounced off, and stumbled backward, howling in rage.

"Dodai! Are you stopping me?!"

Raikage's voice thundered.

"Raikage-sama," Dodai said, his voice strained, "We can't fight him anymore."

He looked around. The once-proud Raikage Building was rubble. The surrounding districts were gone, buried beneath the mountain's wrath.

Cloud Shinobi Village could not survive another attack like this.

Naraku floated down slowly, smirking. His voice cut through the air like ice.

"Still want to continue, Raikage-sama? I believe there are plenty of mountains left near your village."

He gestured toward the horizon, his tone mocking.

"If your village thinks every bloodline limit in the world belongs to you, maybe I should start wrapping these mountains up as presents and send them your way."

"You…!" Raikage clenched his fists, trembling.

"Raikage-sama…" one of the sensory-nin whispered urgently. "Hyuga Naraku's chakra levels haven't dropped. That mountain attack… he can still repeat it…"

Even C, the elite sensor-nin, was shaken. They had watched as Naraku flew across the sky dragging mountains like they were toys—and now, his chakra still surged like an ocean beneath a storm.

Was he even human?

"Raikage-sama, we can't keep fighting," Dodai added. "The Two-Tails is already in their hands. Killer Bee is unconscious. And if this battle continues—Cloud Shinobi Village will truly cease to exist."

Raikage stood motionless, jaw tight, veins bulging.

Then finally, with a guttural growl, he said the words:

"…We concede. We'll sign the peace treaty."

Soon after, in Konoha's temporary command outpost:

"Lord Naraku," said Nara Shikaku, bowing slightly. "This is the treaty draft I've prepared."

Earlier, Naraku had mentioned the village would soon surrender, so Shikaku prepared the necessary documents.

Still, even for a tactician as experienced as him, watching Naraku cut mountains and drop them from the sky was beyond all expectation.

This wasn't warfare—it was divine punishment.

Naraku took the treaty and skimmed it.

Then he frowned.

"Lord Naraku," Shikaku offered, "I made it fairly strict. Considering the devastation Cloud caused during their assault on the Land of Fire, I—"

"This is what you call strict?" Naraku snapped, tossing the treaty to the ground.

"We smashed their village, and this is all we're asking? Are we doing charity work now?"

He extended a hand, counting off coldly:

"First, Cloud Shinobi must compensate double for all damages they caused in the Land of Fire."

"Second, they will cover all costs incurred by Konoha's expeditionary forces."

"Third, the techniques and blueprints for their barrier ninjutsu will be handed over."

"Fourth… from now on, 30% of Cloud Shinobi's national income goes to Konoha."

His eyes narrowed.

"They love war so much? Let's see how well they fight when they're broke."

Shikaku stared at him, speechless.Thirty percent?

If Cloud agreed to that, they'd effectively become Konoha's satellite.

"These terms… are too extreme. They'll never agree."

Naraku shrugged.

"Then we'll keep smashing. Draft a new one."

Back in Cloud Shinobi's ruined headquarters:

"This is bullsh*t!!"

Raikage tore the treaty document in half.

"Thirty percent of our income?! Why not just tell us to dissolve the whole village!"

Dodai frowned. "Naraku insisted on this point. He's refusing to negotiate."

"Thirty percent… We won't even have enough left to maintain the village's defenses, let alone prepare for war."

Raikage was silent for a moment, then his voice darkened.

"…What's the status of the Chakra Cannon?"

Dodai's stomach sank.

"It's nearing completion… Raikage-sama, surely you don't mean—"

"I mean exactly that," Raikage growled, eyes burning.

"There's no way we're accepting this humiliation. Once the Chakra Cannon is ready—we end this."

His hand clenched into a fist.

"We blow them away. Especially that Hyuga Naraku. One shot—and I'll turn him into dust."
