Chapter 570: Chapter 570: Revisiting the Department of Mysteries
Tonks: "..."
How many times has she been at a loss for words tonight?
"You probably don't understand yet..."
Tonks has to explain, "Sirius has been captured! To ensure his safety, we won't be able to come to your aid right away if the Death Eaters show up."
"At least we expect them to bring him..."
At this point, Tonks glanced at Harry and continued, "The Dark Lord had proposed to exchange Sirius for the prophecy orb, so they will definitely show up with Sirius."
"But the Dark Lord forbade Harry from informing Professor Dumbledore... In other words, you must hold out for a while before we can send our support."
"After all, they still have Sirius."
"But it's not a completely hopeless situation. You are likely to meet me while you are escaping, and I will help you."
Naturally, Andy wouldn't refuse a helping hand.
After a moment's thought, Andy asked, "According to your estimation, how many Death Eaters will come? And will they bring Black here straight away?"
"About ten, maybe more."
Tonks said. "As for Sirius, according to our best guess, there is a high probability that he will be brought here directly by Death Eaters first."
"Or, he may be brought here personally by the Dark Lord."
"But you have to be careful."
"Perhaps the Sirius who appears before you may be a Death Eater disguised using Polyjuice Potion, or he may be under the Imperius Curse."
"In short, you can save him, but don't trust him!"
Andy nodded, "Got it!"
In fact, Andy had considered this possibility before, but the possibility of a Polyjuice Potion was unlikely, while the chances of being under the Imperius Curse were very high!
Harry couldn't hold back any longer at this point, and he hurriedly asked, "What's Sirius's condition now?"
Tonks looked at Harry in surprise and then at Andy.
Why is there such a big difference between you two?
If we knew how Sirius was doing, we would have rescued him long ago.
"Well...maybe...not too bad?"
Tonks responded to Harry and then looked at Andy and continued, "We now need to deal with two situations, and no matter which scenario plays out, you will need to hold out for a while."
Andy nodded slightly.
Indeed, even if it was just acting, they could not just ruin the plot.
Voldemort threatened to kill Sirius immediately if Harry informed Dumbledore—and that meant that support had to come later.
In fact, Voldemort didn't care whether Dumbledore would show up or not.
He also didn't care whether Sirius would live or die.
His goal was simple: to get some time alone with Harry.
And his bargaining chip was Sirius's life.
If everyone cooperated, Sirius would live.
If they didn't, Sirius would die immediately.
"Understood!"
Andy thought for a moment, then looked at Tonks and asked, "How many people can you handle?"
Tonks laughed, "If they're compared to Malfoy... two or three!"
She was still a little proud of herself when she said this!
She was the youngest Auror in the Auror's Office. However, her strength ranked among the best of all Aurors.
As long as they weren't the elite Death Eaters, she was confident that she could take on two at once. If they were just small fries, she could even take on a whole group.
Lucius Malfoy was not a small fry, but he was not considered elite among Death Eaters either.
Andy raised an eyebrow on hearing this.
Take on two or three Lucius Malfoy?
"Thank you..."
Andy said thank you and then weighed his words carefully: "I don't think we'll need your help for this. Protecting Harry is one thing, but if there's one more person... it'll be trouble!"
Tonks: "…"
"What do you mean, boy?"
Tonks couldn't hold back any longer. She glared at Andy. How dare this boy look down on her?
"There are ten of them... maybe more!"
"Let's say ten!"
Andy said with a helpless expression on his face, "And we're only three. Harry...he's pretty much a liability. At best, he can fight one Death Eater."
Harry blushed and didn't argue.
He had indeed lost to Peter Pettigrew.
And as far as Harry knew, Peter Pettigrew had no status at all in the Death Eater faction.
Andy looked at Tonks and continued, "Miss Tonks, you can fight two...right?"
"Then I'll have to take on seven of them!"
"But to me, there's really no difference between taking on seven or ten of them."
Tonks: "…"
She was truly at a loss for words.
What was wrong with this young wizard?
Why was he so arrogant?
Where did he get his confidence?
He was only a third-year student, and he had probably never fought anyone before, so how would he know how fearsome the Death Eaters could be?
Ding-dong –
While they were talking, the lift stopped again.
The Department of Mysteries had arrived!
"Miss, we're leaving. We can have a midnight snack together tonight."
Andy said, and then called out to Harry, "Harry, let's go!"
Tonks bit her lip and whispered, "I'm on duty on the eighth level. If you're in danger, run towards the Floo Network fireplace."
"Thanks!" Andy waved his hand.
Once they had exited the lift, Harry asked in a low voice, "Andy, are we going straight for the prophecy orb? I forgot to ask earlier, but shouldn't we ask where it is first?"
"It's in the Hall of Prophecy. Follow me," replied Andy.
Andy had been to the Department of Mysteries once before.
But in Harry's presence, he couldn't appear too familiar with the place.
After walking through a basic and simple corridor, Andy and Harry arrive at a dark and unadorned door. Behind this door lies the circular room of the Department of Mysteries.
As expected, there is no one here.
Andy is already planning his next course of action.
Andy is not just here to protect Harry.
He also wants to explore the Department of Mysteries.
The Death Chamber, the Time Room, the office, and the archive—these are all places Andy wants to explore.
He entered the circular room.
Everything here, including the ceiling and floor, is black.
There are twelve identical black doors around the room, with no markings or handles. The doors are spaced apart and embedded in the black walls.
Several candles with blue flames are embedded in the wall, and the cold, faint candlelight is reflected on the black floor, making it look like a pool of black water.
Andy stood in the centre of the room, examining his surroundings intently, trying to find some clues or traces.
Andy was looking for clues he had left behind!
If Andy had used the Time Turner to come here, he would have definitely left some clues for his present self.
Because that's what Andy was thinking at the moment.
If Andy thinks this way now, then Andy in the future will definitely do the same!
