Hogwarts: The Unscientific Wizard (TL)

Chapter 634: Chapter 634: Wizards and Magical Life

Andy: "..."

I can't help but feel that this old 'kid' is a tad bit dubious.

But anyway, for the next school year, Hogwarts will be getting a new Potions professor with this, and he's someone who knows a lot of secrets.

Although Potions isn't displayed on the system's panel, it is a very important field of magic.

From curing diseases to magic transfiguration, potions are indispensable.

Many high-end potions have truly miraculous effects.

For example, Felix Felicis is a potion that can even influence a person's luck.

Potions can be compared to alchemy in the cultivation novel.

After he agreed to teach at Hogwarts, Slughorn and Andy quickly became acquainted.

He took Andy to a cabinet and began to introduce him to his former students (in the photo).

All of them were talented wizards who had made extraordinary achievements in various fields after graduation, so Slughorn naturally benefited as their professor.

At the end of the conversation, Slughorn also enthusiastically invited Andy to join the Slug Club he would be hosting next school year.

Andy naturally agreed.

Through this brief interaction, Andy had already gained a general understanding of Slughorn.

He likes material things and likes to associate with people who excel in various fields. He is a bit vain and superficial, but he doesn't harbour any ill will towards people he doesn't like.

Overall, he has his own way of living and knows how to keep himself happy.

One thing in particular is undeniable: Slughorn has an eye for spotting talent.

"Professor, what have you been doing since you retired?" Andy quickly started to gather information after they became acquainted.

Slughorn laughed and said, "I like to collect rare things to enrich my cellar and library. Sometimes I also invite former students over for a party."

"Because it makes the house more lively."

"You know, retired old people inevitably need to find a hobby."

Andy's ears pricked up at the word 'library'.

But this was the first time they had met, so Andy didn't want to push his luck and ask to see his library.

There would be plenty of opportunities for that later.

As they chatted for a while longer, Dumbledore came downstairs. "Horace, I see you've changed your mind."

"Yes! I'll start packing." Slughorn was clearly not going to entertain Dumbledore.

"You're welcome, old friend."

Dumbledore said with a faint smile, before looking at Andy and continuing, "Collins, we should get back. Your friends will be getting worried."

"Well… I'll see you next term, Professor Slughorn." Andy gave a polite smile and then followed Dumbledore out.

"See you next term!" Slughorn was very enthusiastic and escorted Andy to the door, reluctant to part.

***

After walking out of the village, Dumbledore tilted his head and winked at Andy, "It seems you had a very pleasant chat with Horace."

"It can't be helped. I happen to be his preferred type."

Andy shrugged helplessly, "But... I don't think his achievements in potions can compare to Professor Snape's."

How can someone who prefers to enjoy themselves compare to someone who focuses on academics?

"Severus will be very happy to hear that."

Dumbledore laughed, "I'll be sure to pass that on to Severus."

"Whatever."

Andy said nonchalantly, "But I don't think Professor Snape will be happy to hear that."

After a brief chat, Dumbledore finally turned to the matter at hand. "Harry's problem must be handled. Severus told me that you suggested using a Dementor to devour Voldemort's remnant soul?"

"What do you think?" Andy asked in return.

"It's possible..."

Dumbledore thought for a moment and said, "But the Dementor's kiss will devour Harry's soul along with it, so we must find a way to protect Harry's soul."

Andy was naturally prepared for this question.

When he and Snape discussed this matter, they had a clear division of labour.

Snape was responsible for finding a solution from the aspect of potions, while Andy was responsible for researching it from the aspect of magic.

"What about the Imperius Curse?"

Andy said, "I've looked into it. Dementors are related to the death dimension, and the Imperius Curse is a magic associated with the soul domain. It can put your soul in a special state."

"In addition..."

After a pause, Andy continued, "I used magic transfiguration to steal the power of the death dimension. If this power continues to develop, perhaps I can exert some influence on the dementors."

Dumbledore's eyebrows furrowed slightly upon hearing this. "Collins, I have to warn you: if you let external magic power influence you too deeply, you may become inhuman, just like Voldemort."

"Professor, is this a change at the level of life?" Andy asked curiously.

Magic Transfiguration can transform a wizard into a magical being, so the so-called 'inhuman' form may just be a genetic evolution.

To put it bluntly, to the human eye, Voldemort is completely inhuman.

In the eyes of other beings, Voldemort is no different from a human.

"Yes!"

Dumbledore nodded. "Magic Transfiguration may give you power, but it can also change your form. This is true for Slytherin, and it is also true for Voldemort."

"Collins... magic comes from life!"

Andy nodded slightly upon hearing this.

Andy had already formed some opinions on this issue.

Without the help of a system, Andy would only undergo one transformation at most.

There were many ways to increase one's strength, but there was only one handsome face.

"Professor, I might have a solution," Andy said lightly, not bothering to hide it.

Dumbledore: "..."

For some reason, Dumbledore began to feel a sense of psychological imbalance.

This is too much of a cheat!

Someone is cheating here; is there no GM to deal with this?

"Professor..."

After a moment of contemplation, Andy suddenly asked, "If I transform into a magical being by using magic, will there be a difference between me and an ordinary wizard?"

"And...what is the difference between a wizard and a magical being?"

This has also been Andy's longstanding question.

All the magic books were written by wizards, and naturally, they would praise the wizarding community in the books. In the eyes of wizards, magical creatures are just animals with magical powers.

Scamander did have great achievements in the field of magical creatures, but he also viewed magical creatures from the perspective of ordinary animals.

He didn't study the differences between the two life forms.

What Andy wanted to know was the difference in the level of life.
