Chapter 633: Chapter 633: Andy: No one likes the knowledgeable professor more than me
"Didn't we already discuss this?"
Andy raised an eyebrow, not quite sure why Dumbledore had brought it up. But the old man never did anything without a reason, and if he'd brought it up, he must have had a good reason.
"We've found four Horcruxes so far, and we know where the other two are."
Andy chimed in, "Seven is a magical number, so I think Voldemort would have about seven Horcruxes."
"Once we find the last Horcrux, we can finally defeat Voldemort."
Diary, diadem, ring, locket... These are the four Horcruxes that have already been found.
Harry and the snake next to Voldemort... They are the other two known Horcruxes.
Of the four Horcruxes that have been found, only the locket has not yet been destroyed.
In theory, as long as the locket is destroyed, the current Voldemort can sense it.
Harry is an incomplete Horcrux, and he does not have the protective magic of a Horcrux coursing through his body.
Once Voldemort loses control of his emotions, Harry can take the opportunity to pry into Voldemort's memories and find the whereabouts of the last Horcrux.
This is very likely.
Andy had originally thought that Dumbledore had kept the locket as a way to deal a critical blow to Voldemort. But now it seemed Dumbledore was not planning to make such a move.
"Yes, seven is a magical number."
Dumbledore said, "But we cannot make rushed decisions based on mere speculation... Collins, I must be responsible to the entire wizarding world."
"And...there is one Horcrux that is very troublesome."
Andy instantly caught on.
Without a doubt, the human-shaped Horcrux was the most difficult one to solve.
You can't really kill Harry, after all, can you?
Maybe...
Andy looked at Dumbledore. He had Snape lurk around Voldemort, perhaps to solve the 'Harry' dilemma.
Andy didn't dwell on this any longer but looked at the sofa in front of him and asked, "Professor, who is this?"
"Horace Slughorn,"
Dumbledore introduced him: "He is an old friend of mine. He was once a Potions' professor at Hogwarts and also the Slytherin house head. We worked together for many years."
I see!
He was the house head when Voldemort was a student.
Immediately after Dumbledore finished speaking, the only intact furniture in the room suddenly swayed.
Then a head appeared on the armrest of the sofa, and the whole sofa began to twist and deform, quickly turning into an old man in pyjamas.
"Hello, Professor Slughorn," Andy, the only younger person in the room, took the lead in greeting him.
"Oh, hello, Mr Collins."
Slughorn nodded kindly at Andy and then turned to Dumbledore, his tone tinged with complaint, "It's hard on you, Albus... Look, I've hidden here, and you've still found me."
Dumbledore looked around the room and said, "Before we talk, we need to clean up a bit."
With that, Dumbledore waved his wand lightly.
Under the influence of magic, the broken furniture and ornaments in the room were restored to their original state. Almost in the blink of an eye, the messy room became clean and tidy like new.
"This is a Muggle house. The family is away on holiday, so I've borrowed it for a few days."
Slughorn went to the wine cabinet, poured a glass of red wine, and took a sip before saying, "I know why you're here, Albus."
"But you should know very well that I only have one answer."
"That is...no!"
After saying this, Slughorn put on an attitude of seeing off a guest.
"Of course, I know very well."
"So I don't intend to invite you."
Dumbledore was not surprised by this. He looked up at the upstairs and said, "Can I borrow the bathroom here?"
"Feel free," Slughorn waved his hand.
Andy: "..."
You brought me all the way here just to use the bathroom?
Andy was lost for words.
Looking at the old man in front of him, Andy already understood the reason why Dumbledore had brought him here.
It was to... convince this old man to return to Hogwarts and teach.
Because he was most likely to know the secret of Voldemort.
"Professor Slughorn, you and Professor Dumbledore..." Andy asked tentatively.
"Oh, don't get me wrong,"
Slughorn waved his hand and explained, "We don't have any personal conflicts... although he's a Gryffindor, and I'm a Slytherin, we've been friends for many years."
Andy nodded and said, "I can see that you seem to have some secret that you can't tell anyone, but we really need your help..."
"There's no need to say any more," Slughorn interrupted.
"Although I don't know what you're worried about..."
Andy looked at Slughorn and continued, "But no one will force you to do anything."
"You can go back to Hogwarts to teach for a while, and while you are teaching, you can consider Professor Dumbledore's request."
"Of course, personally, I also hope that you will teach at Hogwarts. After all... a talented potion master like you is rarer than a phoenix in the wizarding world."
It's not clear which of Andy's words struck Slughorn's G-spot, but after hearing Andy's words, Slughorn's old face blossomed with a smile, and the corners of his lips couldn't be pressed down.
"Hmm..."
Slughorn was obviously tempted.
"Professor, I'm not exactly in the same camp as Professor Dumbledore, so don't think that we're working together."
Andy continued, "You should have heard our conversation. Professor Dumbledore brought me here to see you; now I know exactly why."
"You know Voldemort's secret!"
"But... while Dumbledore is obliged to act in the interests of the entire wizarding world, I am not."
"Because I am only a student."
"So I am not interested in the secret you wish to keep."
"I am only interested in your knowledge."
The man in front of him was not only a world-renowned potion master; he was also the Slytherin House head during Voldemort's student days and a long-time friend of Dumbledore's.
In other words, he knew a lot of secrets.
What's more, the Slughorn family still belonged to one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight, with a long history.
Andy would definitely not lose out by bringing someone like him to teach at Hogwarts.
No one likes a knowledgeable professor more than Andy!
"As a student, I sincerely hope that you will return to Hogwarts to teach our Potions classes," Andy invited with utmost sincerity.
"Of course, no problem!" Slughorn instinctively blurted out.
He felt Andy's sincerity.
This kid is much cuter than Dumbledore!
While Slughorn was born and raised as a pureblood wizard, he was not fanatical about the pureblood belief; he followed his own elitism.
Anyone with outstanding talent or a unique background would attract Slughorn's attention.
Let alone a magical genius like Andy.
At the tender age of fourteen, he had already secured the honour of being 'the next century's greatest wizard'.
Slughorn simply couldn't resist liking him.
