Chapter 1161: Food wars!
He brought their plates to the table, his eyes scanning the food before him. He wasn't sure of Robyn's tastes, but Adele's preferences were like second nature to him.
Robyn snatched the plate from his hands, a scowl on her face. She was still fuming, clearly upset with how he had shut her down earlier. There was little chance of her forgiving him now.
Adele, on the other hand, took the plate politely with a smile, her eyes lighting up with anticipation.
"Just eat slowly," he said softly, "there's plenty more in the kitchen."
They began eating, but Samuel felt a familiar sensation creeping up on him—his spidey senses tingled. Something was about to happen. Enjoy exclusive chapters from My Virtual Library Empire
For a moment, he thought the wolf pack had found a way through the new fence, but after focusing, he sensed nothing. His gaze shifted around the room, landing on Robyn.
She was staring at him, her eyes mischievous, though she tried to hide it. Her lips quivered, as though she was suppressing laughter. Robyn wasn't exactly a master at hiding her emotions.
A knowing smile spread across his face. She was the source of his sudden unease.
Remaining calm, Samuel met her gaze with a smile, saying nothing as he returned to his meal.
Robyn, waiting for the moment, seized it. The instant his head dipped, she grabbed a handful of spaghetti and hurled it in his direction.
The long noodles coated in tomato sauce flew through the air, splattering sauce everywhere as they headed straight for his head.
But in a fluid motion, Samuel bent his head at a strange angle, narrowly avoiding the attack. Not a drop of sauce touched him. The spaghetti sailed past him, landing with a messy splat behind him.
"Che, do you have eyes on top of your head?" Robyn muttered, clearly frustrated.
"Are you trying to start a war?" Samuel said, his smile turning cold. "Didn't Adele warn you? If you provoke me, you'll be begging for mercy."
Adele, who had been minding her own business, now found herself drenched in sauce as the spaghetti sailed by her. It even got into her hair, making her grimace.
She shot both of them a glare full of fury. Before she could speak, Samuel flung a meatball at Robyn's face.
She ducked, narrowly avoiding the hit.
There was no way she was going to let her guard down now. After starting this battle, she knew it was going to be an all-out war.
Pieces of food began flying around the room as the fight escalated into a chaotic food battle. Adele, seated between the two, quickly ducked under the table to escape the mess. But no matter where she hid, food seemed to find its way to her.
Maybe it was a conspiracy, or maybe she was just unlucky today, but bits of food—delicious, messy food—landed on her head, one after the other.
"That's enough!" Adele shouted, finally standing up in frustration. But just as she did, a plate of whipped cream landed right on her face, completely breaking her resolve.
The food fight had officially escalated. It was no longer just between two people—it was a full-on war, and luckily, Samuel had prepared plenty of food to destroy.
It felt like high school cafeteria chaos, with each of them trying desperately to hit the others. Samuel, however, seemed to be the master dodger, coming out unscathed while the others became covered in food.
Eventually, the girls exchanged looks, their minds clearly working in tandem. They formed an alliance, deciding to team up against Samuel.
Without hesitation, they grabbed a large pie and sprinted toward him. Samuel, ever the strategist, could already see their plan. They were trying to box him into a corner.
He could have retreated, but as a brave soldier, he wasn't about to show his back to his enemies. He stood tall, preparing himself for the inevitable.
Adele and Robyn expected him to run—they were certain it was his best chance. But when he didn't, when he stood there like a fool, they were taken aback.
"You finally get it, don't you?" Robyn yelled triumphantly, pie in hand. "You can't win against us! Prepare to drown in this pie!"
Adele chimed in, her voice just as fierce, "And don't think I've forgotten about you splashing tomato sauce on me!"
Together, they closed in, but something felt off. Adele, who knew Samuel better than anyone, sensed it instantly. He wasn't resisting—this was out of character for him.
Even if she was bigger than him in terms of curves, she never stood a chance when it came to pure strength. Something wasn't right.
Before she could process what was happening, Robyn raised the pie with both hands, aiming for Samuel's face. But in a quick, almost impossible motion, Samuel bent down at a 90-degree angle, evading the pie.
Robyn, unable to stop her momentum, lost grip on the pie. It began to fall, but not toward Samuel. Instead, it was headed straight for Adele, who had been standing behind him.
Adele could have avoided it, but as the two girls stumbled in a chaotic dance to keep from falling, the pie slipped from Robyn's hands and splattered across them both.
They were now drenched in whipped cream, flaky crust, and candy apples, while Samuel stood untouched, a bemused look on his face.
He watched the two beautiful women covered head to toe in food and wondered—had he taken it too far? Maybe he should have just let them win this round.
But he never really had a chance to think more deeply about the issue as the girls were already on top of him.
The whole dining area was littered with food so it didn't make sense that he was standing there without any food stains. They felt like they needed to correct it.
The angry shouting turned into laughter as they began laughing at each other's physical state. Somehow or someway, the war that started out bloody became the thing that broke the ice between them dispelling the previous awkward atmosphere.
