Chapter 1160: Surprise?-2
They slowly slid open the door and stepped inside, still unaware that Samuel was standing just beside them.
Perhaps it was their confidence, but they didn't even bother looking around before starting to remove their shoes. The carpet was so plush, so luxurious, that it almost compelled people to act in a certain way.
Just as they were about to turn the corner, Samuel leapt out from the shadows with a sudden shout, "Boo!"
"AAAAHHHHH!" Robyn screamed, stumbling backward, while Adele let out a high-pitched screech, frozen with a pale face. She seemed too scared to even run, unlike Robyn, who was still scrambling to regain her composure.
"Bastard! Motherf—" Robyn, who somehow managed to stay on her feet, immediately retaliated with a string of curses, likely fueled by her heightened emotions. But Samuel wasn't about to let her berate him.
With a swift motion, he grabbed Robyn and tossed her over his shoulder. Adele, still in shock, was soon lifted onto his other shoulder, her body limp.
Samuel carried them both to the living room as they squirmed, then dropped them onto the large sofa.
"Stop yelling. You were trying to scare me, weren't you?" Samuel smirked, his tone mocking. "How does it feel to become victims of your own prank?"
Robyn gritted her teeth, unable to retort, though her foul-mouthed tirade was still simmering beneath the surface. But when Samuel glanced at Adele, he noticed her bright red face and how she was awkwardly rubbing her thighs together, clearly not interested in the ongoing conversation.
It took a moment for him to realize what had happened. Maybe it was his impeccable timing, or perhaps he had been too quiet—either way, Adele had been so frightened, she'd soiled her pants and was now far too embarrassed to admit it.
Robyn, who had also noticed Adele's silence, quickly caught on. Seeing the damp spot Adele was desperately trying to hide, Robyn instantly understood the situation.
"What are you staring at? Turn around and reflect on your evil deeds!" Robyn finally found her voice again.
Embarrassed, Samuel complied, turning away as instructed. While there were no real secrets between the three of them, this was definitely a situation where being naked would have been more appropriate than being the protagonist of a ridiculous prank story.
He could feel Robyn's deathly glare boring into the back of his head. He heard them moving upstairs, likely to clean up Adele's mess.
After a few moments, Samuel turned back, only to see them disappearing upstairs. He sank down onto the sofa, unsure of what to do next. His plan had backfired spectacularly, leaving things awkward between him and the girls for the foreseeable future.
He waited for them to return, but after fifteen minutes, he realized they probably didn't want to face him just yet. With a sigh, he decided to head to the kitchen to make dinner.
Since they were there, he figured he'd prepare something more filling than a sandwich. Plus, it would help get his mind off the uncomfortable situation. Maybe some good food could break the strange atmosphere—at least, that's what he hoped.
An hour later, Samuel had finished preparing dinner. He glanced up from the kitchen to see the girls finally coming down. They had changed into more comfortable pajamas, and despite their change of clothes, their moods seemed unchanged.
Everyone who stayed in the manor had spare clothes. From Kate to Nicole, each had their own room, and with the manor expanding, more rooms were being built to accommodate future visitors.
Robyn shot him another glare as she pulled Adele along to the living room. It was around seven, so Samuel assumed they were probably hungry.
He set the plates, occasionally glancing toward them from across the dining area, but neither seemed interested in him. Unsure of how to approach them, Samuel hesitated for nearly fifteen minutes. The table was piled high with food, and he had way too much—what else could he do?
Finally, gathering his courage, he called out to them. "Come on, guys, I made a lot of food. Please, just come and eat."
"We're not hungry," Robyn's voice echoed from the hallway.
Samuel sighed, realizing he had to face them. He couldn't let the situation fester—it would only create more tension in the future.
He walked into the living room to find the girls curled up together under a blanket, watching television.
"Come on, I'm sorry. I didn't know it would affect her that much. I was just—"
"We don't want to hear it," Robyn cut him off once again.
Frustration began to build in Samuel. He wanted to talk to Adele, but Robyn kept interrupting, making it difficult to address the situation. Just as he was about to speak, Robyn prepared to shut him down again, but she didn't expect what came next. Experience more tales on My Virtual Library Empire
Without warning, Samuel leapt onto the sofa between them, grabbed Robyn from behind, and covered her mouth.
"Now, Adele, won't you even look at me?" Samuel said, his voice softer. "It's not a big deal. It happens to the best of us—a perfectly normal human reaction. I promise I won't tell anyone about this. Can you forgive me?"
Adele kept her gaze down, silent. But Samuel could tell it was starting to work. Her fingers fidgeted nervously, as if caught in a dilemma about whether to accept his apology.
"Okay, don't forgive me yet. Just come out and eat. I made a lot of food, and I'm sure it'll cheer you up," he added, his voice full of genuine hope.
Adele nodded weakly, and Samuel let out a sigh of relief. At least he had made some progress.
Robyn continued to struggle in his grip, but her words were muffled. She saw Adele had agreed to eat, which seemed to relax her just a little.
In the bathroom earlier, the girls had strategized, deciding how far they were willing to let this go before confronting Samuel. Adele had been worried he'd tell others about her mishap, but since he promised to keep it quiet, they had decided to let it slide—for now. However, he was still on a short leash.
