How did i end up like this?

Chapter 2: Chapter 2

…How did I not notice? Was I too excited out over being in HUNTER×HUNTER? For a year and a half, I haven't seen a single TV, computer, or cellphone here. In the original story, that tech was everywhere—no way it'd be missing in just this city.

Turns out I'm 127 years before the damn plot starts.

Sure, being pre-canon's great, You'd have more time to train. But 127 years?! By the time the story kicks off, I'd be 145 years old. I'd be a fossil by then. Thanks for nothing!

Well, there are also the examples of Chairman Netero and Maha Zoldyck. If I master Nen, maybe I could stall aging too. There's a chance I'll still be alive.

But even if I look young, 145's still 145! I'd be a shriveled prune!

Goddammit—my grand plan (losing my V-card to a canon character) just went up in smoke!!!

…It feels like my purpose has changed somehow, but oh well.. Even if I could go back, it's pointless. By the time Greed Island exists, I'll be a shriveled old geezer. Who'd wanna return home like that?

Creating a Nen ability to cross worlds myself? No shot. Even if I somehow pulled it off, I'd still be ancient by then.

Crossing dimensional barriers with Nen would take decades of training—and that's with insane talent. No way some amateur like me could crack it.

Anyway—what Nen type even lets you return home? Emission? Teleportation vibes. Or Specialist? World-hopping's is unheard of.

Wait, what's my Nen type? I'm hoping for Enhancement or Specialist. Maybe I'll unlock my ultimate cheat skill—Tsuueeeeee!!!

…Alright! Step one: Learn Nen. Gotta know my affinity first.

Starting tomorrow—daily meditation!

…Wait. Forced awakening? Scary as hell. Besides, I don't know any Nen users to teach me.

After meditating to sense aura, I vaguely grasped the concept of Nen within… an hour? Maybe coming from a world without Nen made it instinctually easier? "Mastering Nen's gonna be EZ!"

…Nope. Turns out life isn't that fucking generous. No protagonist perks. No cheat codes. Nothing.

I…Learned two things:

1. I have zero talent.

2. I make Zushi look like a prodigy.

Wait, no—Zushi's still a 1-in-100,000 genius. Gon and Killua just broke the scale. Me? I'm probably Motaricke-class talent. Not that I even know what Motaricke talent level was.

Long story short—I did awaken Nen. Great! Wonderful! Except for one tiny detail: how long it took.

Gon/Killua: 1 week (via meditation).

Zushi: 6 months.

Me: 6 goddamn years.

Six. Damn. Years. What's my talent ratio—1 in 10 million? There are people in this world who awaken without even realizing it, but after all that effort to awaken, this is all I get...Gotta admit it—I'm talentless.

And I tried. Every. Damn. Day:

Mornings: Meditate (usually fell back asleep).

Lunch breaks: Meditate (usually napped).

Post-work: Meditate (usually passed out at the bar with coworkers).

Bedtime: Meditate (usually woke up the next morning).

Around year one, I almost quit. "Maybe otherworlders can't awaken Nen?" "What if this isn't HUNTER×HUNTER after all?"

But what else was I gonna do? Eventually, it became routine—less "practice," more "background noise."

Oh, and my coworkers? They side-eyed me hard. Well, if you never meditated before and suddenly start doing it, people will look at you weird.

Around year five, I started feeling something enveloping my body. Is this aura? Once that clicked, progress sped up—within a year, I awakened Nen.

Still stuck at Ten (basic aura control), but damn, that alone felt revolutionary. Like the world looked completely different.

This is Ten…? Surreal. A nobody like me, wielding manga-tier powers? At this rate, I might even pull off a Kamehameha… Hell yeah.

Time to test Ten's effects. It's supposed to toughen the body, right? I left my dorm, marched into the mines, and—faced with the usual coal wall I chip at with a pickaxe—PUNCHED IT.

CRACK! The wall fractured slightly.

…Holy shit. Not just the cracked rock—my fist only stung a little! Normally, punching that hard would've given me road rash at best, a broken hand at worst. Wait, why did I even try that?!

Whatever. TEN IS LEGIT!!!

I Got carried away and kept punching the wall until my boss caught me. Chewed out? Me?!

"I swear it doesn't hurt! My fist's fine, really!"

Turns out he was… worried about me? Damn, Boss, you're too soft…

Wait—he thought I was crazy? Dude, give me back my compliment!

Later, the guys told me: Smiling like a maniac while hammering a stone wall? Yeah, you look certifiable.

Whatever. Ten mastered! Next up: Zetsu, Ren, and the Water Divination test

I'm getting so excited!!!!

…AND MY HEAD'S FINE, OKAY

Sigh. Using Ten during work makes me tire slower. Maybe it boosts stamina? Tried applying Shū to my pickaxe, though—total flop. Guess jumping straight to advanced techniques was too ambitious. Haven't even mastered the Four Major Principles (was that the term?). Well, whatever, It's free to try.

Can you keep Ten active while sleeping? Hmm… I'll try sleeping while thinking about Ten before I go to sleep.

During breaks and after work, I practice Zetsu while meditating. After six years, not many people look at me strangely when I meditate anymore... I'm happy, but I'm not happy. I have mixed feelings.

Zetsu is brutal. "Close all your pores"—easier said than done. My Ten aura thins but never fully vanishes.

Gon and Killua? Freaks of talent. Didn't they nail this instantly? …Then again, their foundation was rock-solid from day one. Can't blame just talent.

Enough whining. Back to practice. No way this'll take another six years.

Focus! Become the void! I am the wall… I am the pebble… I am the air… …This is getting depressing.

Took two weeks, but I finally mastered Zetsu. No aura leaks, and my roommate didn't notice me hiding in our dorm while using it. Guess it works…?

I guess there's a level of proficiency in Zetsu too.. Like maintaining it while moving, erasing your presence faster, refining concealment—so much left to practice.

Next up: Ren.

No Ren, no Water Divination test.

If I remember right, Ren's about outputting more aura than Ten. Maybe if I put my mind to it?

Hnggh!!

Huh? Aura slightly thicker? Barely—went from 10 to 12. I Can't call this Ren.

Was there a trick to it? …Nope. My memory's not that sharp. Read the manga over seven years ago. Owned all the volumes too…

Dammit! Why didn't I stuff my bag with HUNTER×HUNTER before getting isekai'd?! Dumbass!

Enough regrets. Back to practice.

How hard can it be? Just willpower, right? Way simpler than Zetsu's "erase your presence" crap. What even is "presence"?

I thought it'd be simple, but it's way harder than I expected.

Releasing more aura than normal—Ren—took me three days once I poured my will into it. But keeping that aura stable? Way tougher. Ended up taking nearly two months.

Maybe I'm better at Zetsu than Ren…? Not that it matters—Zetsu's good for running away, I guess. Sigh.

Whatever. Ren's done. Time for the Water Divination Test—finally.

I've prepped everything: cup, leaf, water. Picked a spot where no one's around, just in case.

C'mon, Specialist Type!!!
