HP: god of potions

Chapter 144: dc(chapter 143)

Chapter 143

Now knowing more about his domain, performing alchemy was a breeze, as it should have been. "Gosh, I was really idiotic. I could have done this ages ago," he cursed at himself repeatedly as he brewed auxiliary material after auxiliary material, crafting lesser potions that would be required for the demigod potion he wanted to create. He converted ingredients from one type to another as long as the base ingredient was on the same level as the target of the conversion. And this was done without the system's help. No, he couldn't risk anything knowing. After creating a very thick pool of unknown liquid, he opened his domain, which woke up Rachel. Gray then took on his alchemical form—a mass of ever-shifting liquid composed of vastly different materials—before cutting a part of himself. He made sure not to cut off any part related to his mind or soul to avoid disturbing whatever was inside of him, only removing enough of his flesh so that the resulting product wouldn't have any mind.

He then placed the part of himself that he cut off inside the unknown liquid, which quickly solidified into a cocoon. He smiled. "I need high-quality materials to strengthen the product," he thought as he sighed. "Hopefully, I won't have to use this," he mused as he withdrew his domain and began brewing potions with the system. Another thing he noticed was that the speed of his alchemy skill's experience acquisition was much, much faster. That was right. In the time loop, every bit of experience he gained would regress back to the previous day, so he wasn't progressing in level. But now, it was like he was on a light-speed train, leveling up super fast. That was the goal now—he wanted to quickly reach the maximum level and gain the ability to create god-grade potions. Or at least, that was what he wanted the will inside the system to believe.

Hence, the rapid leveling process. But Gray no longer trusted this "system" of his, which was why he repeatedly tried his best to continuously refine not only a recipe for godhood but also evolve his domain, which he believed was his true path to divinity—the ultimate endgame. And honestly, he was looking forward to meeting Merlin, whom Gray believed had some information on the will. After organizing, rethinking, and rewriting, Rachel finally emerged from her bedroom, wearing a red nightgown that Gray had personally crafted on the spot last night. "I like what you've done with the place," she said, referring to the new enchantments Pangea had received, which provided extra defense and time dilation spells. Gray chuckled as he closed the notebook he had just finished writing.

Of course, I would know. We fought the old bastard once — well, he kicked our ass. Rachel even died," he said, making Raven wince as Constantine added, "What do you expect from fighting Trigon the Terrible?" He placed his head on the table. "Well, I sealed him back anyway, but that was when I didn't have my own domain, and I couldn't even level a mountain with my pinky," he said before looking at Raven. "Hey, kid, want me to beat the brakes off the old guy? Free of charge. After all, I am dating the alternate version of you," he said with a smile.

Raven hesitated, blushing profusely, before Rachel grabbed him by the back of his collar. "You are going to overheat the poor girl," she said, moving him back. "Plus, remember, you can't and won't intervene in their journey. All we would do is observe them, and maybe you can fight the Olympian pantheon or the angels and demons. Heck, you can fight both Trigon and Darkseid after they're—" She stopped herself once she noticed how Raven, Constantine, and Superman were looking at her.

"I don't want to destabilize the timeline here, Gray, especially since you can currently feel their gaze across the multiverse," Rachel warned, much to everyone's disappointment. Gray sighed. "Sorry, little one, I really wanted to help you out, but ah, there's a party pooper present," he whispered to Raven as Rachel coughed. Gray then regained his dignity, looking out of the pub. "Guess dealing with those flying insects won't destabilize the timeline, would it?" he asked rhetorically as he looked ahead. In front of them were the Paradooms — technorganic creatures that contained a hint of evolution — which Gray fancied. He grabbed the creatures literally out of the air. "Hmm," he started, immediately studying them while the two Ravens, Constantine, and Superman just watched. The trio was confused and shocked at how easily he manhandled two of them — one of which would have been enough to put them in a pickle — all except Rachel, who was used to his antics. "So, what did you say about these Paradooms?" Gray asked as he killed the creatures, turning them into a blood mist he collected in a vial. Rachel just sighed.

"Go back a couple of years into the future, and you will see Superman fighting him," Rachel said. Gray smiled. "Thanks, love," he said, kissing her on the cheek before disappearing, leaving Rachel with a small smile on her face. She realized the three of them were looking at her. "I thought you told him not to mess with the timeline," Raven asked, clearly not impressed with her future version. "I can't help it. I don't like it when he sulks — although it's quite cute," Rachel said with a smile, further shocking the trio. "Women in love are scary," Constantine said as Superman finally seemed to have had enough. "We came to you, John, bec—" "Because you have a plan to save the world again, and this time it will definitely work, right? Bugger off, Clarkie," Constantine interrupted, clearly pissed while Raven clutched her head. "You can tell him to shut up," Rachel advised, knowing what Raven was going through.

Just then, Gray reappeared, looking quite happy. "It was an interesting creature — it has the ability to resurrect upon death," he said aloud. Not only had he tested out the powers of Doomsday, but he also collected a sizeable chunk of his blood and flesh. He had also drained the blood of Superman and a woman called Wonder Woman, who had divine blood — of course, he did this before they even realized what was happening. He then dumped these along with other high-grade materials he gathered into the cocoon, only leaving two small portions of those materials to later craft into two god potions — one for Rachel and one for his current body.

He watched as John, Etrigan — the depressed demon who couldn't even rhyme anymore after his friend died — along with Raven, who was super angry at John, and the weakened Superman made their way into a broken-down Big Ben. There, John asked Superman to recount what happened on Apokolips, Darkseid's home planet. Turns out, the entire Justice League got beaten in battle — some of them died, others were tortured, and John Constantine ran while the love of his life was torn to shreds. "Now I understand why both of you hate him," Gray said, earning a half-hearted glare from John as Rachel sighed. "He's cursing himself more than everyone else, so just let him be," Rachel said. Gray smiled. "Guess who matured," he teased as he caressed her face. "Agh, if you're here for some romance trip, may I suggest Paris?" Constantine said. "Nope, we're saving that for when we visit my parents," Gray replied. Rachel looked at him in surprise. "Wait, are you finally visiting them?" she asked as Gray smiled.

Yeah, I am preparing, so it's only right I visit them this once before the big showdown," he said as Rachel pondered. "So it's finally time," she said as Gray stretched. "It is," he smiled as John groaned. "What do you need from me anyway?" he asked Raven and Superman, who spoke. "We need a locator spell," making John scoff as he asked, "That's all you want, and then you'll piss off?" he asked as Superman nodded. "Good, I need some equipment, so just sit tight — and Etrigan, just mope around," he said as he turned around. "Sure," Etrigan said as he threw his empty bottle. Superman started talking to his wife while Gray was watching some alien ship land in China as Raven approached Rachel. "So," she started as Rachel smiled. "His name is Gray Agrest, but he goes by Gray Knight. He is 110,000 years/16 years old, he's a potioneer prodigy and a celebrity, and he's also very rich. He's from a completely different world — and as for his looks, you can see," she explained as both of them looked at Gray, who was seriously pondering something.
