Hunter X Hunter: I Got Stronger After I Died

Chapter 110: Instant Kill

The Weaver's Deception allowed Luke to nullify four life-threatening attacks.

This ability's high margin for error gave Luke significant tactical flexibility.

Against evenly matched opponents, he could use the Weaver to create openings and quickly end fights.

Against stronger opponents, he could rely on its safety net to probe and gather intelligence.

He could even judge the power of an enemy's attack based on the Weaver's reaction, allowing him to adapt his strategy accordingly.

Luke had used this ability to neutralize the lethal threat of Moro's Flying Star and, alongside Adams, had pushed Moro to the brink.

At this point in the fight, the outcome seemed all but certain.

That's why Adams had started smiling again.

What Adams didn't know was that the Weaver's Deception had a hidden mechanic—one that could work in the enemy's favor.

Once it nullified four fatal attacks, it would trigger a Crown on its back, activating the Jackpot effect.

However, this jackpot presented the enemy with a test of their own resolve.

Because there was no explanation—no hints whatsoever—only Luke knew what the crown truly meant.

If the enemy accepted the crown, they would have to gamble on an unknown effect mid-battle.

If they refused, nothing would happen—but for as long as the crown remained active, Luke would be unable to use the Weaver again, essentially sealing off his Nen ability.

Both sides understood each other's abilities.

But the final stage of Weaver's Deception was a secret Luke had never revealed.

That was why, when Adams saw Moro unleash a terrifying surge of golden aura, his expression contorted involuntarily.

The moment Luke's face darkened, Adams knew something was terribly wrong.

"Luke, care to explain?"

Feeling the sheer intensity of Moro's aura, Adams no longer felt the thrill of plundering his opponent's Nen—his forehead broke into a cold sweat, and he instinctively took two steps back.

Luke didn't answer.

Instead, he simply sat down on the grass, his grave expression fading into an eerie calm.

Adams froze.

A vein bulged on his forehead as he snapped, "Hey, what the hell do you mean by that?"

"We lost."

Luke's gaze remained locked onto Moro, who was rapidly adjusting to his Overdrive Aura, and finally answered Adams' desperate question.

Adams' face twisted. "What kind of bullshit is that?!"

Luke didn't bother to explain.

Because it was pointless.

Even with the Weaver's safety net, Moro accepting the crown didn't guarantee an instant comeback.

After all, Overdrive Aura had a time limit. Once it burned out, Moro would likely face total Nen depletion.

If Luke and Adams could survive that period—no matter what it cost them—they would still win.

But survival was impossible.

Their true death sentence…

Was the Star Mark.

The Star Marks imprinted on both Luke and Adams.

With its homing ability, the Star Mark had completely sealed off all possible avenues of escape.

There was no way they could outlast Moro's overdrive phase.

Since their deaths were inevitable, there was no point in wasting breath explaining things to Adams.

"You've got some nerve… You really weren't afraid that crown might've been the final nail in your coffin?"

Luke stared unblinkingly at Moro.

Despite being enemies, he couldn't help but acknowledge the sheer strength of the man before him.

What made Moro terrifying wasn't just his skill.

It was his unshakable mindset.

Even when standing at death's door, even while enduring Adams' relentless assault, he had never wavered—always executing his plans with unwavering conviction.

Luke found that far more frightening than any single ability.

Moro ignored Luke's words.

He focused on attuning himself to the Overdrive Aura's amplified flow.

Although he had suspected the golden crown would grant him a power boost, he hadn't expected it to be this overwhelming.

So overwhelming that he had to consider the potential backlash.

Forget it. The tide has turned. I'll deal with the consequences later.

Moro casually raised his right hand.

A torrent of golden Nen surged down his arm, pooling into his palm and forming a dense energy sphere.

At its core, a faint green light flickered.

It was the essence of Life Drain.

Ironically, Moro had yet to benefit from this ability.

Not because he didn't want to—but because it required him to deal actual damage first.

And the problem was, if he imbued his Flying Stars with Life Drain, it would inevitably reduce their base attack power.

It was a tradeoff, like distributing stat points.

If he allocated 10 points to raw attack power, his Flying Star would deal pure damage.

If he split it 5–5 between attack and Life Drain, the damage would be weaker, but he'd regain health.

It was the same principle as Zeno's Dragon Head Strike.

When Zeno used it against Chrollo, he had added homing and grappling properties to it.

That was why, when it hit Chrollo, it restrained him instead of dealing full lethal damage.

For Moro, it was the same.

If he infused his Flying Stars with Life Drain, their lethality would drop accordingly.

Against equal opponents, this ability could provide a huge edge.

But in higher-stakes fights, it could actually be a liability.

Right now, though?

He didn't need to worry about that.

Because now, he was the stronger one.

As Moro finished charging his attack, Luke lowered his gaze, his expression utterly serene.

He knew he was dead.

All that remained were regrets… and a faint sense of relief.

Regret that he never got to finish reading that "Neighbor Big Sister" photo book.

Relief that Adams had at least managed to land a heavy hit on Moro before dying.

That meant Moro wouldn't walk away unscathed.

If Caleb could finish him off after this… then their deaths wouldn't be in vain.

Luke smirked.

Meanwhile, Adams' panic had escalated into sheer terror.

"Wait, wait, wait!"

Only now did he truly realize the real problem.

The Star Mark!

Adams' eyes darted between the glowing mark on Luke's arm and the deadly energy sphere in Moro's hand.

His pupils contracted violently.

Can I block it? Can I survive this?!

But before he could think any further—

Moro threw the Flying Star.

Adams' body reacted instinctively, twisting to evade—

But the star homed in and curved back toward him.

His heart stopped.

Shit—!

Adams poured every ounce of Nen into a desperate defense.

But it was pointless.

The Flying Star pierced his arm.

Then his chest.

Then his heart.

Instant kill.

Blood spewed from Adams' mouth.

He stared down at the clean, gaping hole in his torso.

All his Nen.

All his stolen assets.

It still hadn't been enough.

As his vision faded, faint green motes of light rose from his corpse—

Drifting toward Moro.

They merged with his golden aura.

A warm sensation spread through Moro's body.

His wounds—healed.

But he wasn't done yet.

His gaze lifted—

Locking onto Luke.

Luke's calm demeanor finally cracked.

The moment of reckoning had come.

Moro conjured another star.

One final shot.

The end of Luke.

And with it, the end of the fight.
