Chapter 117: Is He Strong?
Moro knows Shifting Limbs?
Kurt's mind was instantly filled with confusion.
His genuine surprise did not go unnoticed by Zibonian.
"That boy tricked me."
She recalled how calm and natural Moro had been when answering her questions earlier.
At her age and experience, she still got fooled by a kid.
"Unbelievable."
Zibonian shook her head with a self-deprecating smile.
Meanwhile, Kurt stared at Zibonian, his silent expression filled with questions.
Seeing this, Zibonian began to recount everything that had happened.
Standing to the side, Yuin quietly shrank into a corner.
She wanted to ask her grandmother to leave out some details to save her dignity—
But she didn't dare.
Zibonian was always straightforward, and even if she noticed her granddaughter's embarrassment, she wouldn't hold back.
Kurt listened silently, his deep purple eyes flickering with strange emotions.
Occasionally, he glanced at Yuin.
Realizing this, Yuin lowered her head even further.
"Too embarrassing…"
Her face remained neutral, but inside, she was crying rivers of tears.
The only sound in the room was Zibonian's voice.
Kurt's Shock
A few moments later, Zibonian finished her story.
Kurt now understood everything that had happened while he was unconscious.
"I never taught Moro Shifting Limbs."
Kurt raised his head and looked at Zibonian, his eyes filled with disbelief.
He couldn't comprehend how Moro had learned it on his own.
And based on Zibonian's description, even though Moro's movements were still slightly unrefined, he had already integrated the technique into combat—
This was not something that could be mastered in a short time.
Zibonian rested her index finger against her chin, her expression turning thoughtful.
"Has he seen you use Shifting Limbs before?"
"Yes."
Kurt answered instantly.
Zibonian narrowed her eyes slightly, then lowered her hand—
She had figured it out.
He had only seen the technique once, yet he was able to analyze it, understand it, and replicate it on his own.
It sounded unbelievable—
But it was the only logical explanation.
Genius or Monster?
Yuin glanced at her grandmother's reaction, already guessing what she was thinking—
And felt utterly stunned.
"Grandmother… you're not seriously saying… that guy just watched Kurt use Shifting Limbs and then figured it out by himself?"
"Is there a problem?"
Zibonian looked at her granddaughter with a calm expression.
After today's encounter, thanks to Moro, she had seen many of Yuin's shortcomings—
When they returned home, she was definitely going to increase her training intensity.
Yuin suddenly shivered, instinctively feeling a deep sense of dread.
"No… no problem."
She answered obediently.
Zibonian spoke flatly:
"Don't assume that the 'world' consists only of the people around you. The world is vast, and it has never lacked geniuses or monsters. Things you think are impossible might be trivial to them."
Yuin lowered her head, silently accepting the lesson.
She wanted to argue—
Ever since she could remember, she had rarely left the Zoldyck estate.
Her daily life consisted of harsh training, and the only people she interacted with were either exceptionally skilled peers or the true monsters of the family.
So to her, her "world" was the Zoldyck family.
Of course—
She would never dare to say such a thing out loud in front of her grandmother.
Kurt's Realization
Although Yuin was the one getting lectured, Kurt also lowered his head in thought.
He had suffered immensely just to master Shifting Limbs—
The pain, the effort, the endless training…
And Moro had learned it just by watching?
He didn't have to bleed and sweat for it.
He didn't suffer.
He picked it up instantly.
All the hardships Kurt had endured—
Suddenly felt insignificant in the face of true genius.
A sour feeling filled his heart, and he finally let go of his dream of surpassing Moro someday.
But then, a voice from his memory surfaced—
"You're already amazing, Kurt."
That was what Moro had told him before.
Lies.
Kurt subconsciously clenched his fists—
Yet strangely, he didn't feel as bad anymore.
Zibonian, who had noticed his frustration, initially wanted to comfort him—
But then, sensing the subtle shift in his emotions, she silently admired his resilience.
Compared to him—
She glanced at Yuin, shaking her head slightly.
"?"
Yuin's inner radar suddenly went off.
She looked at her grandmother suspiciously—
"Was I just insulted?!"
Moro's Strength
Zibonian turned back to Kurt and spoke calmly.
"Kurt, when we return, I will report everything I saw to Silva. I hope you understand."
Kurt remained silent, then nodded.
Then, as if something suddenly came to mind, he looked up and asked:
"Zibonian… do you think Moro is strong?"
"Hmm?"
Zibonian was slightly puzzled by the sudden question.
But seeing Kurt's serious expression, she thought carefully before answering.
"For his age—he is no weaker than Young Master Illumi."
"I see."
Kurt lowered his head.
And somehow—
He felt a little better.
A Dangerous Encounter
That morning, on a quiet city street—
Moro stopped under a streetlamp.
Ahead of him stood a short, plump woman—
Her facial features squeezed together, her eyes barely visible.
She was the doctor from the clinic.
"The informant. What do you want?"
Moro calmly looked at her, hands in his pockets.
The woman grinned, her thick lips stretching.
"What do you think? My clinic is half-destroyed because of you."
She didn't mention the fact that she had snitched—only her losses.
"So you want compensation?"
"Small businesses need support, you know."
"Oh. Go ask Zibonian, then."
Without another word, Moro turned and walked away.
The woman's eyes flickered—but she didn't try to stop him.
Instead, she pulled out a small recording device, replaying Moro's words:
"Go ask Zibonian, then."
"Making money these days is tough."
She sighed to herself and walked back toward the clinic.
Two Days Later
Moro arrived at the pawnshop where he had stored the Ruby Avian Knife.
Now that his business was finished, before returning to Heaven's Arena, he needed to retrieve his weapon.
Pushing open the pawnshop door, he walked inside.
His gaze quickly swept the room—
A small window, a security gate, and a staircase leading underground.
"Just like Kurt described."
Stepping up to the counter, Moro spoke two words:
"Tree Hollow."
With a click, the metal door unlocked.
Moro pushed it open and walked in—
Unaware that he was walking into a trap.
