Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Dandins’ Desperation
Dandins never imagined things would escalate this way.
It was one thing for Kaizen to hide his strength.
But now, even after revealing what he was capable of, Kaizen still held the upper hand.
"This doesn't make sense!" Dandins thought, disbelief written across his face.
How could a ten-year-old be stronger than him? It defied all logic.
Yet Kaizen offered no answers.
Instead, he pressed the attack.
"Rotten Knife!"
Kaizen raised the knife in his hand, and with a swift motion, a black light slashed through the air and struck Dandins squarely.
A mass of strange, insect-like eggs sprouted across Dandins' body, clinging to him and draining his aura.
Both of his legs were blown apart in the process.
But Dandins wasn't done. As his severed legs hit the ground, he bit through the pain, crouching low, and channeled all his strength into his thighs, propelling himself forward like a spring.
He surged toward Kaizen with a feral roar—
Only to find himself intercepted.
Raiken darted forward, his lithe body moving with uncanny speed, and collided with Dandins mid-charge.
"Boom!"
The impact was deafening.
Dandins staggered, unable to overpower Raiken's blade. But before he could recover, Kaizen's Killer Queen loomed behind him.
"Bang!"
The iron rod it wielded struck Dandins' back with devastating force, tearing through flesh and bone. Blood erupted in torrents, staining the ground until it resembled a crimson pool.
Dandins' broken body slammed into the floor.
Kaizen, his expression cold, issued the final command to his conjured beast. "End him."
But then—
A sharp, ominous aura stopped Kaizen in his tracks.
He leapt back instinctively.
And just in time.
Dandins' body began to swell, grotesquely morphing.
Unlike the previous time when his form had retained some humanity, this transformation was monstrous.
His body ballooned to three meters, then four, and kept growing until it exceeded ten meters in diameter.
Eyes, dozens of them, sprouted across his grotesque form, along with countless arms.
A viscous, green liquid dripped from his malformed limbs, hissing as it corroded the floor beneath him.
Kaizen frowned. "You didn't just experiment on others, huh? You experimented on yourself too."
He shook his head in disdain. "And you call this a success?"
The monster before him roared.
"You brat!" Dandins' voice was distorted, but his fury was unmistakable. "You forced me to this point! I'll tear you apart!"
Kaizen's response was calm, almost mocking. "Sure, you look terrifying, but you're still just aura in the end. A C-rank Nen user doesn't magically become invincible."
Dandins bristled. "You won't survive today! Even the Shadow Beasts wouldn't stand a chance against me in this form! I'll devour you!"
Kaizen's smirk remained unshaken.
"Raiken, restrain him," Kaizen ordered.
Raiken stepped forward, blade gleaming. At the same time, Killer Queen clenched its fists and slammed them into the ground.
"Boom!"
The floor beneath them caved in, and Killer Queen lifted a slab of debris.
"First Bomb!"
The projectile flew straight toward Dandins, embedding itself in his grotesque flesh.
A pulse of energy followed, detonating part of Dandins' monstrous body and annihilating chunks of his flesh.
Dandins bellowed in rage and pain.
Kaizen remained unfazed, wielding his knife with precision. Each slash sent a streak of black light toward Dandins, planting more insect eggs onto his bloated form.
The eggs hatched immediately, voraciously consuming his aura.
With every passing moment, Dandins' movements became more sluggish, his attacks more desperate.
His overwhelming size and brute strength were meaningless against Kaizen's calculated strategy.
Dandins howled in despair.
"Why?! How can a mere child overpower me?!"
The realization hit him like a blow.
"Greed… was it greed that doomed me?"
His thoughts spiraled into blame.
"Could it be that Carlisle was killed by this brat too? Did Kaizen take down Greed, Gluttony, Laziness… Anger?"
His chest heaved as rage twisted his monstrous features.
"This is all Carlisle's fault! If that fool hadn't brought trouble to Orion, I wouldn't be in this mess!"
Dandins' thoughts raced as his strength faded.
Kaizen, Killer Queen, and Raiken maintained their relentless assault.
Dandins' aura dwindled with every passing second. His grotesque form, once so intimidating, was now riddled with holes, blood pooling beneath him.
And Kaizen stood calmly amidst the chaos, the embodiment of precision and power.
