I am a former Flame Chasers

Chapter 262: Chapter 262: The Plan is to Have Tea and Talk

Are you settling accounts secretly again? Your accounts are piling up. You might as well settle them when you change jobs. And Mobius... why are you always persecuted?

Ryan didn't hide his smile but straightened his chest, the meaning clear.

If you've got the guts, come and take revenge. Believe it or not, Brother Kalpas will beat you back to your youth. Kalpas really was a ruthless man. He could kill Mobius without blinking an eye.

Ryan had always felt that Mobius had it tough—first, a wooden stake was broken by Elysia, then Kalpas threw her some insults. It was really cruel.

Ryan turned to look at Elysia. As soon as he opened his mouth, he saw the pink fairy's eyes light up. With a quick movement, she vanished from in front of him. When he turned around, he saw Elysia had jumped to the side of the cabin and was now circling around Aponia, who had just stepped off the plane.

She's definitely more interested in love than friendship. Judging by how excited she is, she deserves the nickname of the head of the female Tong.

"What a beautiful girl, I'm Elysia. What's your name? You can call me Ellie from now on."

"You're also very cute, Pardofelis? I'll call you that from now on. Here, let me pat your back. Just spit it out."

The voice of social anxiety kept ringing in his ears. Ryan didn't even need to turn around to know exactly what Elysia was doing. She must be sparkling with enthusiasm while holding someone's hand, and then Aponia and Pardofelis would be looking at her in surprise.

Damn, she's really taking advantage of her female charm, huh? But then again, with Elysia around, there would never be any awkwardness or unfamiliarity. She was like the glue that kept everyone together. Ryan didn't have this kind of social anxiety anyway.

For example, right now, he remained silent, watching Sakura, who had a slightly resentful look in her eyes. He then looked at Mobius, who had her arms crossed and a sneer on her face, and suddenly, a very strange feeling surged up. How should he describe it? It felt like being caught cheating, but also like being caught by a minotaur.

"Very good, I was wondering why you suddenly changed your lustful habits and brought a man back. Turns out the real owner is behind it all." Mobius spoke slowly.

Lustful? What's wrong with having men around? It's none of your business if I'm gay, Ryan thought.

He ignored her and walked ahead, his head down. Sakura immediately came up and reported the recent events at a rapid pace. Mobius was helpless. Every time she wanted to settle things with him, this guy always had a legitimate excuse.

Yes, they needed to take action against the Fire Moth and couldn't be distracted, but she couldn't help but think about when she'd settle the score with him.

She stared at the night sky in silence, then glanced angrily at the gyroplane. In just a few moments, Elysia had already struck up a conversation with the two women, laughing quietly, while Kalpas looked disdainful but still listened intently.

Her ability to make friends was remarkable. It seemed like no one could ever resist Elysia's enthusiasm—not even me.

Mobius's gaze met Aponia's, who gently nodded in goodwill. Mobius simply turned her head away.

Humph, I'm not envious!

"You and Mobius did well, so now the conditions are basically complete," Ryan said, walking down the stairs, nodding at the passing employees who seemed oblivious to his presence, going about their business in a daze, as if lost in thought.

Sakura had delivered the news clearly: Andevich had really gone to find her. This "Ice Breaking Fist" was now considered a "traitor."

According to him: Betraying the Fire Moth was nothing. How could you save all of humanity by working with this group of insects?

"The major has high execution ability and discipline." Sakura's eyes were filled with admiration. She liked teammates who were so hardcore.

"Of course. He's a soldier, his will is as strong as steel, and he has a boldness characteristic of a Russian." Ryan wasn't surprised and thought about it based on Sakura's report.

Andevich had been labeled missing, but the Fire Moth couldn't explain what mission he was carrying out and why he disappeared. He and Himeko were somewhat similar—they both had a lot of old comrades.

So, when he appeared alive again, holding the body of the Herrscher of Ice, it became very convincing.

"The Antarctic Shelter has refused to obey the headquarters' orders. This must be Andevich's doing."

"The excuse is also well-timed. As a special unit, they must obey the parliament's instructions. Now, the general commander must be feeling the pressure."

The shelter stored massive amounts of supplies, acting as humanity's main warehouse. After Andevich disappeared, the Fire Moth had to change the management, but this time, the shelter refused to comply.

According to common sense, the parliament's signature could have been postponed—just a casual agreement among colleagues—but now, they were determined to insist on seeing the signature first.

Gradually, pressure would build up. This was the role of Andevich. If this didn't work, the Far East Branch would start to go wrong, creating a sense of panic that the Fire Moth was on the verge of splitting.

The two entered a lounge, and Sakura quickly made a cup of tea, then took out some documents.

"Kevin was transferred to South Africa. Ato and Hua were moved to the Middle East branch, and Wei Erwei was assigned to Northern Europe. Everyone has different reasons."

"Well, that's normal. By the way, you've contacted them, right?"

"I've persuaded them. Except for Kevin, who's a bit difficult to handle, everyone else promised not to act rashly. This opportunity is rare, and we can't scare them away."

"Yes, it took me months to get this opportunity. I can't let it slip away because of my enthusiasm." Ryan sipped his tea, his expression still calm.

He understood Kevin's anxiety and Hua's worries, but at this moment, he had to remain calm. He couldn't act impulsively, because Ryan's plan was simple:

Let the mysterious group of parliamentarians gather, at least most of them, then use Aponia's "discipline" to control them. Once this highest authority is dealt with, everything else will be easy.

The Fire Moth won't split, nor will there be internal strife or rebellion.

This simple plan was difficult to implement, but fortunately, no one except Ryan could guess it—no one, not even Mei. Who would have thought that a nun could turn the world upside down?

The door opened, and Ryan turned to see Mobius walking in with her hands in her pockets.

"Where's Elysia?"

"She went to chat with that group. Why, do you want to talk to her?"

Ryan wanted to chat with Elysia, at least to figure out why she came, but when he saw Mobius's face, he shook his head with a sincere expression.

"What do you need to talk to her about? Now's not the time to discuss that."

"That's better. I thought you'd forgotten about business."

"I always focus on business. Since you and Ying are here, I'll brief you quickly." Ryan picked up his teacup and silently thought for a moment before speaking.

"The goal of this operation is simple. When the Fire Moth councillors arrive, I'll make my move and head straight to the main venue to have tea and talk with them."

At Ryan's words, Sakura and Mobius were stunned, clearly confused.

"Wait a minute! We're willing to die by your side and carry the burden of infamy, and that's it?"

"What do you mean by that? Getting into the main venue isn't easy, okay? The enemy will definitely be on alert." Ryan waved his hand to silence her, then said:

"It's definitely not just talking, and using force won't work. There's no integrity in that."

"Then you still want to talk?"

"It's not just me. Aponia has to go in too. As long as she's human, no one will refuse her request."

Aponia? That nun?

Mobius suddenly thought of Aponia. She'd compared their figures earlier and was both surprised and impressed.

She wasn't crazy, and realized Ryan's point must make sense.

"Are you sure about betting on her?"

"There's no better way. It's too troublesome to find those congressmen one by one. I don't have time for hide-and-seek."

"Okay, since you're so sure, I won't ask any more questions. Just assume Aponia can turn the tables. What do you need me to do?"

"Arrange a Project Soldier(Mantis) for her. Her current strength isn't enough. She must undergo a full transformation before I can be sure."

"Wait a minute, you know the success rate of Project Soldiers(Mantis) isn't high. What if she dies during the procedure?"

"That's why I came to you specifically."

Mobius was slightly speechless and suspicious. How could the prerequisites not be completed at the last minute?

But seeing Ryan's determined look, she didn't want to discourage him.

"Alright, I'll prioritize the plan with the highest success rate. Then what?"

"Then Ying Sakura help bring Aponia in."

"No problem, but the headquarters is now gathering a large number of troops, which makes it extremely difficult." The fox-eared girl spoke quietly. Given the recent depletion of forces, most of the upper-level fusion warriors had gone to the headquarters, and an ominous number of Cocoone remained.

"I'll be the bait to deal with their siege. I've also found an excuse. When the time comes, we'll rely on strength."

"Do you want Elysia and Kalpas to help?"

"It depends on Elysia's decision. As for Kalpas, he doesn't care about the severity of the attack. You'll need to find him an opponent he must defeat."

So, you want to break through alone?

Sakura's pupils contracted, and she blurted out: "Ryan, this is impossible. Don't forget that the Herrscher is watching you covetously!"

She knew Ryan was strong, but two fists couldn't fight four hands. It was too arrogant for one person to take on nearly half of the Fire Moths.

"Yes, there are at least ten high-level fusion warriors, plus a large number of defense facilities and troops. Do you really think you're invincible?" Mobius frowned, not sarcastic, but serious. "No, absolutely not. You're gambling."

"Dealing with the Honkai is a gamble. We must go all in every time, and we can't afford to lose even once. We can only do our best. For instance, if Aponia dies during the operation, I lose directly." Ryan looked at them, his eyes cold and full of confidence. "But even so, I will risk my life and gamble."
