I Became a Digimon and Change Worlds Every Month

Chapter 28: A Glorious Death

"This matter is highly classified. Without my permission, you are not to tell anyone!"

Captain Satsuma spoke sternly, his expression serious.

Miku Kurozaki nodded. "Understood!"

Captain Satsuma then turned to Moss and said, "Miss Angewomon, I hope you can keep this confidential as well."

"Don't worry. What you want is also what I want."

Moss wanted Kurata dead as soon as possible, so she fully supported Captain Satsuma's undercover plan—she even hoped it would succeed today.

Kudamon added, "Since you already know about this, you will be responsible for communicating with Sei."

"Me?" Moss was taken aback.

Kudamon explained, "I can sense the burning passion in your heart."

With Moss's carefree attitude and unrestrained behavior, it should have been impossible for her to maintain her Angewomon state.

Unless…

This Angewomon's belief in holiness and justice had already reached an unshakable level.

Yes, only those with an unbreakable will could remain unmoved by external influences.

Otherwise, they would require strict rules and disciplines to prevent themselves from falling.

It was like what a great monk once said in ancient times: "Meat and wine may pass through my intestines, but the Buddha remains in my heart." Only someone with an extremely high spiritual realm could achieve this.

This Angewomon before him must be the same—her actions were carefree, but her heart was steadfast.

As a Royal Knight and a messenger of the gods, Kudamon held great respect for those with a strong heart.

"Burning passion?"

Moss rubbed her chin, pondering. Do I even have that?

If we're talking about other kinds of passion, then sure.

But burning passion? Not so sure.

"Thank you for your praise, but you have more capable operators here."

Besides, this job didn't have to be her. No way was she working overtime.

Thinking this, Moss pointed at Miku Kurozaki. "Professional tasks should be handled by professionals, don't you think?"

Miku Kurozaki gave an awkward smile, internally groaning. Great, more work for me. And probably no overtime pay.

"Very well," Kudamon nodded. "But I still hope you can provide some advice. Your wisdom is important to us."

"I'll do my best."

This time, Moss didn't refuse outright. She then patted her stomach and asked, "Isn't it time to eat?"

Later, in the DATS cafeteria.

"What is this?"

After washing up, Moss returned to her seat and looked at the bowl of food that resembled dog kibble. She was confused.

She didn't think DATS was trying to insult her—after all, Kudamon's plate had the same thing.

"This is Digimon feed, a compressed food designed for Digimon digestion. It quickly restores energy," Kudamon explained before grabbing a piece and tossing it into his mouth.

Seeing this, Moss picked one up, brought it to her lips, and took a small bite.

"…Not bad."

It tasted like solid mushroom beef, though the texture was similar to a protein bar. Still, it was easy to digest.

After filling her stomach, Moss followed Kudamon back to the command room.

Kudamon jumped onto Captain Satsuma's shoulder, his tail wrapping around the back of Satsuma's neck like a scarf.

Moss found a chair, sat down, and crossed her legs, waiting quietly.

Time passed slowly. By the time she switched from crossing her left leg over her right to the other way around, Miku Kurozaki's computer finally beeped.

Miku Kurozaki pressed the answer button, and a voice came through:

"Headquarters, do you copy? This is Crow, over."

Crow?

Was that his undercover codename?

Heh, not bad.

Moss chuckled.

Miku Kurozaki responded, "Headquarters received. Over."

Sei sounded surprised. "Why is it you? Over."

Miku Kurozaki snapped, "I'm the one handling your communications. Just say what you need to say! Over."

Even though she knew Sei had been forcibly turned into a righteous person, she still found it hard to trust him.

Sei didn't mind her attitude and reported, "I've made it back to my hideout. What do I do next? Over."

Miku Kurozaki turned to Captain Satsuma for instructions.

Captain Satsuma said, "Have him take pictures of the Temporal Shock Bomb. That will serve as evidence that Kurata is trying to break the dimensional barrier."

Miku Kurozaki relayed the message and ended with, "Over."

Sei responded, "But I don't know where the Temporal Shock Bomb is stored. Over."

The room fell silent.

Captain Satsuma frowned deeply.

Moss suggested, "Lure Kurata out. He must have a Temporal Shock Bomb on him."

Captain Satsuma had considered this, but the problem was: "How do we lure Kurata out?"

Moss thought for a moment and said, "Have Sei contact Kurata and say he wants more power—an implant of an Ultimate-level Digimon. This kind of procedure would likely require Kurata to be there in person. Since Kurata still believes Sei is on his side, he wouldn't be on guard against him."

Captain Satsuma and Kudamon's eyes lit up.

This plan wouldn't just get them the evidence they needed—it could also allow them to capture Kurata on the spot.

A win-win!

"Wait… they can capture Ultimate-level Digimon?" Kudamon suddenly realized, his brows furrowing.

Their enemies were stronger than he had anticipated.

As a Royal Knight, Kudamon's power was already at the limit of his physical form. He was at least ten times stronger than an ordinary Ultimate-level Digimon.

But Kudamon wasn't arrogant—he preferred to remain cautious. The fact that their enemies had access to Ultimate Digimon was concerning.

"What do you think?" Captain Satsuma asked.

"No problem." Kudamon's gaze was firm.

Captain Satsuma nodded to Miku Kurozaki, signaling her to proceed.

Miku Kurozaki relayed Moss's suggestion to Sei.

Sei responded with a simple, "Understood," and ended the call.

He agreed easily, but if any part of the plan went wrong, his life would be in grave danger!

However, to someone who now followed the path of justice, this was an act of martyrdom—his ultimate fate.

Thus, he had no fear of death.

To atone for his sins… to eliminate the great evil that was Kurata… he would sacrifice everything.

Including his own life!

Sei—his name would truly mean something now!

He would be remembered in history, even if it meant dying a glorious death…

Moss sensed Sei's almost fanatical devotion and thought back to the fact that he had once been nothing more than a scumbag.

The sheer contrast made her shudder.

This technique was essentially Izanami—personality reprogramming. In other words, mind control.

It was terrifying.

If Kudamon weren't naturally kind, this power would be a nightmare.

That reminded her—dark Digimon probably had similar abilities.

For instance, in Digimon Adventure, Myotismon was able to control a massive crowd even after his death. They continued chanting "Lord Myotismon" until his resurrection as VenomMyotismon.

Moss recalled that when she had absorbed Myotismon's data and entered her Queen of Blood state, she hadn't noticed any hypnotic abilities.

She pondered. "Maybe even after absorbing something, I still need to train to unlock its full potential."

Just like how Mirajane Strauss had to continue studying dark magic even after acquiring Satan Soul, Moss figured she would need to develop her own dark abilities.

In Digimon Adventure, Myotismon had essentially reached the peak of his species, boasting greater vitality than most Ultimate Digimon. He even survived long enough to reappear in Digimon Adventure 02, going from a mid-series boss to the final antagonist.

In a way… it was pretty inspiring.

He was basically the savior of all villains.

Compared to that, Moss's Queen of Blood state was just one possible evolution. It wasn't even a complete, independent Myotismon. She still had a long way to go.

Even though she wasn't in the Fairy Tail world anymore and couldn't learn the right magic for her Queen of Blood form, she could still maintain it long enough to develop an energy-saving mode similar to Full Power Mode.
