Chapter 126 Proud Dad
After recording the last few adorable moments in the classroom, Alina couldn't help but smile as she rewatched the video of Luna. The way her tiny, fluffy paw had tapped the bunny's chest… it was just too precious. Without a second thought, she sent the clip to the class parent group chat.
Almost instantly, little heart emojis and laughing reactions began popping up. Some parents replied with comments like "I want to hug her so badly!" and it warmed her heart to see how much love the parents had for their babies. She set her phone aside and let out a soft sigh, sinking down at her desk.
The classroom was still filled with the soft rustling of toys and gentle giggles. Boo had disappeared again, likely wedged between cabinets or under a cushion plotting his next glitter bomb. Alina pulled out a few storybooks and scribbled notes, flipping through materials for tomorrow's reading lesson. Everything felt peaceful.
Until a soft ding lit up the corner of her screen.
She glanced down, expecting another parent reply but paused.
A notification from her social media app. She blinked. She rarely got anything there.
Curious, she tapped it open—and instantly regretted it.
The first thing she saw was a newly posted couple photo of Celeste. Her ex-co worker.
Celeste… and Riccardo.
Kissing.
Right there in the middle of some luxurious city rooftop restaurant, golden fairy lights all around, faces close, lips touching, and the camera perfectly angled to make sure every brand, every label, every tiny shimmer of wealth was visible.
Alina's fingers hovered over the screen, her expression frozen.
She exhaled quietly and scrolled down.
There were more photos. Jewelry, designer shopping bags, a private pool glowing at sunset. But one thing caught her eye—
She was tagged.
Why… was she tagged?
Her brows pulled together as she tapped on the caption.
<I'm so lucky to have you! You gave me things some people can't even imagine…*Heart and sparkle emoji* #grateful #luxurylife #dreamcometrue>
Alina stared at the line for a moment, then closed her eyes briefly, heart sinking a little.
Some people.
She didn't need to guess who that was aimed at.
Of course, it was her.
She scrolled again.
The next photo was a poolside selfie—Celeste in a bright bikini, body posed perfectly, hair windswept and glowing.
The caption read:
"I hope I'm not looking too fat here *Argh*"
Alina stared at it blankly.
Her thumb hovered. Then she just… closed the app with a quiet sigh.
This was exactly why she hated social media.
Not because she didn't like seeing people happy. But because somewhere along the way, it stopped being about happiness… and became a game of comparison. About being more loved, more beautiful, more successful. She never won that game, and honestly, she didn't want to play it anymore.
Her eyes drifted back to the classroom.
Lucien was now quietly helping Boo untangle stickers from his hair, his small fingers surprisingly careful. Nearby, Luna had fallen asleep curled up in her beanbag couch, her little ears twitching every now and then. Felix had dozed off too, his soft fur rising and falling with each sleepy breath.
Sable, on the other hand, was still happily playing with his own shadows, completely entertained, as if he could do it forever and never get bored and Rocky and Kelpie were still playing with the fish.
And Alina smiled.
This—this was her world.
Not perfect. Not filtered. But real. And filled with small, chaotic joys no luxury tag could ever replace.
She leaned back in her chair, brushing her hair behind her ear, and whispered softly to herself, "I'd take this over a thousand rooftop dinners."
Then she turned back to her lesson plan, the sound of her babies playing in the background like music to her heart.

Alpha Ryker, whose wounds were nearly healed—thanks to the natural speed of werewolf recovery—was nursing a mild headache after sitting through a painfully long meeting with the neighboring Alpha. His temples were still throbbing, and for a brief moment, he stared at his phone like it was the root of all evil. But then a soft ping came from the Class D parents' group chat, and he lazily clicked it open.
But the moment he saw the thumbnail of the video, his entire expression changed.
It was Luna.
His Luna.
A tiny clip showed her sitting on the classroom floor, gently pressing her paws against a fluffy bunny toy, her gray fur puffed up and ears twitching as if she was taking the task very seriously. Ryker didn't even hit play—his lips had already curved into a soft smile.
He watched it once. Then again. Then again—just to feel that odd warm ache in his chest grow a little stronger each time.
Some parents had already commented underneath. Felix's mom had typed, "I want to hug her so bad!" and someone else had left a row of heart emojis.
Ryker's chest puffed just slightly. Of course they wanted to hug her. That was his pup. His daughter. Obviously the most adorable little fluffball in the entire kindergarten.
"Alpha Ryker?" came a voice behind him.
Ryker looked up lazily, still smiling. It was his beta—Kael—standing at the door looking confused, mostly because the Alpha who usually snapped at interruptions was now sitting there grinning at his phone like a fool.
"What?" Ryker said casually, turning the phone toward him. "Look at this."
Kael stepped closer and leaned down, expecting a war report or damage statistics but instead he was greeted by the sight of a small, fluffy wolf pup poking at a stuffed rabbit with tiny serious paws.
He blinked.
"She's… very cute," Kael admitted, his voice trying to stay neutral, though a smile tugged at his lips.
Ryker gave a satisfied nod, barely managing to contain his own proud smirk. "Yes, very cute. It's nice, you know? Having a little girl. They're so caring, so delicate. Unlike those little brat boys who only know how to roll in the mud and fight over sticks."
The beta's lips twitched. "Of course, Alpha. I agree."
Ryker tapped the screen once more to replay the clip.
