I Became a Kindergarten Teacher for Monster Babies!

From her desk, Alina couldn't see inside, but a moment later she heard a muffled sound.

"Felix…" Lucien's calm voice called softly.

A groggy voice answered back. "Mmm… five more minutes. The watermelon is too soft…"

Lucien's sigh was barely audible, followed by a gentle shake.

Then, suddenly, Felix came bouncing out beside Lucien. His hair was still tousled from sleep, but his face lit up like he had just won a treasure hunt.

"Did you enjoy your tiny nap, Felix?" Alina asked with a chuckle, her eyes sparkling as she watched him practically glowing from his sleep.

Felix nodded quickly, his red eyes blinking up at her like a fox who had just discovered a secret stash of grapes. "Yes! Very comfy!!" he said earnestly, his whole expression lit with satisfaction. His little shoulders were relaxed.

Alina turned to continue the attendance roll but paused when she noticed Luna staring at her with a very serious, very focused expression. The little girl's golden Brown eyes were narrowed, her tiny brows drawn together like she was trying to solve the biggest mystery in the world.

Before Alina could ask, Boo zoomed forward with his usual dramatic flair, his eyes twinkling brighter than glitter. "Teacher!!! When did you change our classroom???" he cried, spinning in wild circles. Then he stopped mid-air, clasping his hands together as if pleading. "And you brought banana for Boo, right?? Just for Boo??"

Alina blinked, then laughed softly. "Haha… yes, Boo," she said gently. "The banana is for you. But remember—you must share it with your classmates."

Boo gasped as though she had just crowned him king. "Yeaaaa!! Boo will share!!!" he shouted, spinning upside down until he looked like a little wheel in the air.

Alina straightened and clapped her hands, moving to the board with a bright smile. "Alright, everyone. First class today is…" she wrote slowly in large letters, the chalk scratching softly across the black surface, "SCIENCE!"

At once, the babies leaned forward. Vlad Jr. pretended to adjust his tie, looking unimpressed but sneaking curious glances at the word. Drake's mouth fell into a perfect "O," both his hands gripping the edge of his desk dramatically. Luna's ears twitched with excitement now instead of suspicion, while Rocky and Kelpie leaned closer together with wide-eyed wonder. Even Lucien's calm gaze brightened slightly, and Felix's eyes were fixed on the board, shining with anticipation.

Alina turned back, her smile softening. They're really excited for this, she thought. Maybe this class will be even more fun than I imagined.

Alina tapped the board gently with her chalk. "Today," she announced, her eyes twinkling, "we are going to learn about the five super senses!"

"Super???" Drake gasped, practically bouncing in his seat. "Like superhero powers?! Do we get capes?!"

The class erupted into giggles.

Alina shook her head, trying not to laugh. "Not exactly capes, sweetheart. But they are powers everyone has."

Luna's hand shot up, her golden eyes serious. "Is it like… smell and hearing??" she asked.

Alina smiled brightly. "Correct, Luna! That's exactly what senses are."

Luna puffed up proudly, her cheeks going pink. She crossed her arms and gave a tiny nod like a queen receiving praise.

"Smell?" Vlad Jr. raised an eyebrow, his voice calm but curious. "Does that mean when Drake stinks up the room after lunch, that's… science?"

"Hey!!" Drake shouted, looking personally offended. "That was one time!"

The room burst into laughter again, even Felix covering his mouth to hide his grin.

Alina bit her lip to stop from laughing too hard. "Yes, Vlad Jr., even that counts as using your nose," she admitted.

Rocky blinked, wide-eyed, and hugged his pencil like it would protect him. "Um… teacher… is eating pebbles also a sense?" he asked timidly.

Alina clapped a hand to her forehead with a laugh. "No, Rocky, that's not a sense—that's just you being Rocky. And no, you can't eat pebbles, okay?" she said, and Rocky nodded solemnly, as if he truly understood.

Alina clapped her hands to pull back their attention. "Alright, listen carefully, everyone. The five super senses are things everyone has! They are: seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, and touching."

Kelpie tilted his head, his damp curls bouncing as he blinked innocently. "Teacher… is swimming a sense?" he asked, his voice soft and serious.

A few of the kids snickered, but Alina shook her head gently. "No, sweetheart. Swimming is something you do. A sense is something your body uses to understand the world. Like your eyes for seeing, your ears for hearing…"

Kelpie still looked confused, tapping his chin thoughtfully. "But I feel water… doesn't that mean it's a sense??"

Before Alina could answer, Boo popped up right in her face, arms waving. "Teacher!! Is floating a sense?? Because Boo is floating right now and I feel it!!" he shouted proudly, spinning upside down and flopping dramatically on her desk.

Alina laughed so hard she had to cover her mouth. "No, Boo, floating isn't a sense either. That's just your ghost talent."

"Then Boo has six senses!" Boo shouted, puffing out his chest proudly. "I'm stronger than everyone! Bow to Super Boo!!" He started circling the room chanting, "Sixth sense! Sixth sense!" until he hit the wall with a soft bonk.

The whole class burst into giggles.

Drake, not wanting to be left behind, slammed his little hands on his desk. "Teacher! Then my sense is FIRE BREATH!!" he declared dramatically, his cheeks puffing out as if he was ready to prove it.

"NO FIRE IN CLASS!" Alina said quickly, pointing her chalk like a sword.

Drake deflated a little but then raised his hand stubbornly. "Then my sense is… SNACK TIME. I always know when snack is coming!!"

Vlad Jr. sighed and muttered, "That's called being greedy."

Drake gasped. "It's a POWER!!" he insisted, clutching his chest in fake heartbreak.

Sable, who had been very quiet, blinked his big eyes and raised his tiny hand. "Teacher… are my shadows a sense?" he asked softly, looking down at the dark shapes swirling quietly at his feet.
