Chapter 79: Give Me an Empty Room
Chapter 79: Give Me an Empty Room
“Ah? So I kick the blankets in my sleep? How did I not know that?”
As an adult, kicking blankets is something only children should do, right? There’s no way I could do something like that!
“That’s because you sleep so soundly that it’s natural you wouldn’t know.”
But it was the middle of the night! The Little Princess was sleeping like a log; there’s no way I could be the one kicking off the blankets! If I didn’t get up every night to cover her, she would have caught a cold by now!
“Um… thanks, Yake, for getting up countless nights to help me with the blankets.”
“No need to thank me. I’m your servant, after all. It’s my duty to take care of you.”
Of course, Yake caring for Aierjisi wasn’t just about the contract; he kind of liked this Little Princess in certain ways.
“Sorry to interrupt you two. Can you keep it down a bit? I don’t want anyone disturbing the young lady’s rest.”
After soothing Weirafiya back to sleep, Arthur came over to ask them to lower their voices to avoid disturbing the little lady’s slumber.
“Shh. Yake, let’s get out of here for a moment. We can check if Gaia is done with his work.”
“Alright. Arthur, we’ll step outside for a bit and be back soon.”
After giving a wave to Arthur, they left the room to find Gaia.
“Excuse me, is Lord Gaia done with his work yet?”
There were still soldiers guarding the door. It seemed Gaia was still inside dealing with affairs; that King was really busy.
“Please wait; I’ll ask inside.”
The guard went in to check if Gaia wanted to see them.
“Let them in. It’s a bit stuffy here; having them come in to chat would be nice.”
“Understood, sir.”
With Gaia’s permission, the guard let them into Gaia’s office.
“Wow, you really look swamped, Gaia.”
Entering the room, they found Gaia engrossed in paperwork, his forehead even glistening with sweat from his busyness. That king sure was working hard.
“It’s fine. I’ve gotten used to it. You two came to keep me company, huh? Sit down.”
Gaia waved them over to sit in the chairs opposite him while he continued marking documents.
“Gaia, there’s something I want to discuss with you.”
“What is it? Go ahead and say it.”
“The tasks you asked me about, I’ve taken care of those. The Phoenix is now residing in the Royal Palace; that’s no problem, right?”
“No problem. As long as she’s willing to help us fight Diablo, she’s a precious ally. Since she’s an ally, it’s only natural she should rest here comfortably.”
No wonder he’s the king; his perspective is on a whole other level.
“Then regarding the information about the Teleportation Gate. I’m not too clear on that either, but Weirafiya has already shared the info with Ouxs. I think we shouldn’t have too many issues.”
“I see. That’s good; it seems our plans can proceed smoothly.”
“Not so fast. I got some intel from her about the enemy’s Base Camp. There’s still some difficulty in implementing our plans.”
“What kind of information are we talking about? Tell me.”
Gaia stopped marking papers, raised his head, and focused on Aierjisi, listening intently. After all, it was information about the enemy’s base; he had to pay close attention.
“From what she says, the enemy’s Base Camp feels rather strange. She felt her body getting heavy and had trouble breathing. I was wondering if it’s because the gravity there is stronger and the air is thinner than here.”
“That’s a possibility. If that’s the case, we’ll need to take extra preparations to infiltrate their camp. Did you mention this to Ouxs? He needs to help us get ready.”
Gaia had significant trust in Ouxs; he always relied on him for preparations and was never disappointed.
“I think Weirafiya might have told him already. We shouldn’t need to worry about that.”
“That’s good.”
“Gaia, do you have any other questions? If not, we’ll take our leave.”
With everything that needed to be said done, they were just waiting on Gaia for any more queries.
“Um… about your battle with Diablo tomorrow. Do you need us to support you? It looks like his strength has increased compared to the last time he came. Are you confident you can defeat him?”
If Aierjisi couldn’t beat Diablo, he would tell the palace servants to help support her. After all, she was one of his precious allies; he couldn’t let her get captured!
“Mm… It would be best to have some support if possible. I have a bit of confidence, but it’s not exactly high. The chances of a mishap are quite significant.”
If only she could successfully access the power of the God within her pendant, defeating Diablo would be a piece of cake! But the issue lay with everything that would follow. If she could avoid using this power, she would; it was one of her few trump cards, and she had to minimize the chances of exposing it to the enemy.
“Alright. I’ll arrange that. If there’s nothing else, you two can go. Also, one last thing, tomorrow will be tough. If there’s nothing urgent, try not to roam around the palace too much; it’s better to rest well.”
Tomorrow was the decisive battle day, and Gaia felt it was best for them to conserve their strength in preparation for victory.
“Okay, thank you for your concern, Gaia. We’re leaving now. Let’s go, Yake. Find an empty room and rest well.”
“Mm.”
“An empty room? Didn’t I assign you a room? Why do you need another empty one?”
As they were about to leave, Gaia heard they wanted another empty room. Hadn’t he already arranged one for them? Why did they need another?
“Our original room has someone in it. The Phoenix is resting there now. We won’t go back to disturb them; we just need a quiet place to rest.”
