“Ah, finally finished dealing with all these annoying duties. It’s about time to prepare for dinner.”
I couldn’t tell how long it had been. Gaia had finally completed revising all the documents on the table. Looking at the time, it seemed like it was already evening, and Gaia’s stomach grumbled with hunger. It was time to eat dinner.
“Your Excellency, have you finished your work?”
Seeing Gaia leave the room, the Guard couldn’t help but ask about his progress. His presence here served two purposes: to prevent others from disturbing the King and to encourage him to work hard and not slack off.
“Yes, I’ve finally managed to get through those annoying papers. You’ve worked hard too; you should head off to rest.”
Giving the Guard a pat on the shoulder, Gaia recommended he take a break. This guard had been on duty all day, and he must be exhausted.
“Yes! Then I will take my leave.”
After saying this, the Guard turned to leave. He had finally finished his shift and was off to have a couple of drinks with the other guards at the tavern.
“Gaia! Have you wrapped up your work?”
Before Gaia could take a few steps, Mios suddenly hugged him from out of nowhere.
“Yeah, I’m done. How about your tasks? Have they been arranged?”
“All sorted out, nya~! Just waiting for that annoying Diablo to duel tomorrow, nya.”
“Where on earth did you pick up that catchphrase? You’re not even a real catgirl.”
Listening to Mios’s quirky speech, Gaia felt quite unsettled.
“Adding ‘nya’ at the end makes it cute, nya! Don’t you think so, Gaia?”
“Uh, maybe? I’m a bit dull when it comes to cute stuff. By the way, Mios, could you go call Aierjisi and the others for me? Ask if they’ve had dinner. If not, let’s all eat together. I’ve worked hard all day, and I’m starving.”
“Okie dokie, leave it to me, nya! I’ll head off to find them now, nya!”
Mios bounced off, leaving Gaia behind.
[Tsk, it suddenly changed like this, and I still can’t get used to it…]
Watching Mios scamper away, Gaia slowly broke a sweat.
Meanwhile, Aierjisi and Yake were just finishing their break and were on their way back to their original rooms. They planned to check if Weirafiya had rested well.
“Found you, nya!”
Hearing that voice, Aierjisi instinctively shivered. She wouldn’t forget, this was the voice that had once filled her with dread. In the next moment, she hid behind Yake.
“Mios, good evening. Where on earth did you learn that catchphrase?”
Yake remained unusually calm and greeted Mios.
“Good evening, Yake! What’s Aierjisi doing hiding behind you?”
Mios looked at Aierjisi, puzzled as to why she was hiding.
“Why would I hide from you? Don’t you know at all?”
Aierjisi still remembered well the first time she met Mios when he had treated her like a plush doll and ruffled her hair so hard that it almost broke her spirit.
Since that experience, Aierjisi had been on high alert around Mios, ensuring he stayed at least 10 meters away from her.
“I don’t know. Why are you hiding from me? Just tell me!”
“If you don’t know, then forget it. Some things don’t need to be explained. Anyway, I’m scared of you now, so please keep your distance, got it?”
“Eh? Why is that? I really like cute girls like you! I haven’t done anything too horrifying to you, so why are you scared of me?”
“That’s exactly the point! What have you done to the cute girls you like, don’t you know?”
“I haven’t done anything! It was just some ordinary affection!”

Aierjisi stayed firmly behind Yake, refusing to face Mios directly.
“No worries! This time I’ll treat you to some affectionate attention, just relax and leave it to me.”
“I won’t let you! Don’t come any closer, ahhh!!!”
Seeing Mios sidestep Yake and charge directly at her, Aierjisi was terrified and took off running.
“Are we playing tag? I’m really good at this! Don’t run, let your big sis give you some affection!”
Mios bounced after her as she fled.
[Ugh… should I just step in? Probably not, right? After all, Mios means no harm; he’s just being affectionate with the Little Princess.]
Yake watched the two frolicking around the corridor and decided not to intervene. Even when Aierjisi was shouting for him to save her, he remained unmoved.
Two minutes later…
“Ugh…”
Aierjisi stared blankly at the ceiling, carried on Yake’s back.
“Dinner? We still haven’t eaten. If we’re going to have dinner with Gaia, I’m all for it. But first, we want to call two more people. They probably haven’t eaten yet. This is the spot.”
Yake brought Mios to his room’s door.
“Isn’t this your room? What? Is there someone else inside?”
“Yeah, I’ve temporarily let someone else rest in there. They should be up by now. Yaser, Weirafiya, are you two awake? It’s time to prepare for dinner.”
As Yake knocked on the door, he called out to encourage them to come out for dinner.
“Coming, Mr. Yake! Sorry for making you call us for dinner.”
Yaser opened the door, and Yake peeked inside. Everything looked normal, but it seemed Weirafiya was still fast asleep.
“Is she still sleeping? It’s almost evening.”
“Yeah. The young lady seems utterly exhausted; there are no signs of her waking up yet.”
Yaser hadn’t expected Weirafiya to sleep until now. He thought she would wake up by the afternoon, but apparently, she had really worn herself out in the laboratory.
“Should we wake her up? Let her eat dinner before going back to sleep. Otherwise, if we wait until dinner time passes, it’ll be a hassle to find something to eat.”
“Yeah, makes sense. Just wait a moment, I’ll go wake her up.”
