I created my own system

His hand twitched, and from his side, the grimoire opened with a snap.

A second later, a massive circle of runes blazed around him—strange, alien, and utterly incomprehensible. They weren't just spells. They were invasions, tapping into forces from beyond the known world.

"What is this" I prepared my skills just in case but then something within me recognize whatever Dominos' is doing.

So to prevent any more actions from him, I attack interrupting his casting but then it was only able to delay him.

The grimoire burst open again, and this time, I saw it. A mass of black light, bound in chains of distortion. A spell made from language I could not read.

But my soul remembered it.

Dominos used that same structure once being used in Mahika before, but specificaly it is a spell that is being research by Elias. An incomplete spell he couldn't finish before. But how come its in his hands?

Forget it I don't really need to think of it

Since I know that spell I can definitely counter it. The power only comes from the grimoire at the same it also trying to boost the power of the spell. I can see it the spell is slowly forming and since this is a spell only Elias knows Alicia doesn't know how to cancel it.

"I got it"

My mind suddenly formed an image, a memory from an enemy I fought before.

I can see it all clearly, his sword moving a he once cut one of my spell. Yes that powerful swordsmaster from Lumen, that powerful cut.

I wanted it

I guided my sword just like he did and as soon as the spell was about to activate I made a horizontal cut directly cutting on where my eyes is guiding me.

Suddenly as my sense focus on my thing

Time slowed

Even my breathing vanished

The only thing I could hear, is a soft rhythm

That rhythm was me

From the tension in my wrist, the weight of my blade

With everything I put inside my blade, the power of the stars awakens within it.

I moved and the groud beneath me cracked

No hesitation was in me, all I have

Is to cut

In that instant as soon as I felt my blade struck, my sense was suddenly filled with a cry.

"Arghhhh!!!"

My ears was still focused on my sword and by instinct I moved my blade again. Again I could it, the same sensation caught me and filled me with one desire...

To cut anything that I wanted.

"Damn it!"

Slowly I could hear someone aside from myself and there on the floor was my enemy.

Dominos

I see so my blade was able to cut of his spell and just like what happened to me before a severe headache hit him. But its much more painful a guess since what he was casting was no ordinary spell.

[Actually Creator with the grimoire being focus on the spell I was able to slip in, so when your blade struck I managed to interfere with Dominos' mind and increase the pain he is feeling]

Now it make sense but more importantly, my second strike was able to severe his control on the grimoire. The vessel was lying few meters away from him and I will make sure it stays much farther away.

My memory brought me to the time when the resonance of fragments almost knocked me unconscious, the book in Alicia's hand and the fragment within my soul. I raise my hands reminding me of that sensation, although with pain I summoned the fragments and pulled them towards me.

"What are doing!" I heard Dominos it seems he actually knows what I am doing, but its not like he can do anything to stop the fragments from coming towards me. He can't move them the way like I do.

He is not Apollo after all

He can't influence it the way I can and so with my command the fragments abandoned the grimoire and came to me. Where I stored them inside a wooden talisman. As of now I still had no idea what will the effects of the fragments were absorbed by me so for now, its much better to stored them away.

"What ...did you do!"

I heard a scream, I looked Dominos it seems he had recovered from his earlier cry.

"I just took something that wasnt yours" I merely reply but I can see that he didn't like what I said.

I raised my sword again ready to end it all but then I saw it, his body is changing linking it to the original owner's power. Dominos is now tapping into Nirvana's power right after losing two of his precious abilities.

"I suppose he can only rely on that ant's ability since he can't cast spells anymore"

Well how can a mage fight when his greatest weapon as been neutralize.

I wave my sword striking him to test if he really had assimilated to his new body. A fiery arc of flames cut through the foreign energy that is keeping guard to protect its wielder but since I already know its capacity my attacks cut through it like butter reaching my target with ease. Dominos reacted much better than before probably because he had fully adapted to his body, he released a thick amount of flesh coating the dark pillars with it. Then a familiar flow of energy came to me.

"Its a gospel?" My clench my sword ready to intervene but then I noticed the spell disappear. It seems he knew that I can cancel it.

I tried to read his next move with how his energy move but its chaotic. Inside him is a mess and I can't predict it the way I usually do. I remained looking at him, reading how he compose the foreign matter into dark pillars and tentacles. However it didn't attack me, instead it only stood where they are waiting as if expecting something.

More black aura spilled from his body, morphing his surroundings. Stone twisted, warped into obsidian pillars that jutted like fangs from the floor. They weren't just barriers. They were vessels, moving as if they have their own will. From those pillars came tentacles—hundreds of them. Whipping at speeds faster than most spells could track. They weren't just fast. I could see how their attack pattern will change upon contact with me. They can moved like vipers, unpredictable, elegant, deadly, intelligent.

"I can't read them at all"

Was Nirvana like this before?

No!

I think I beat him quite easily because half of his power was sealed. But this one is different the powers that made someone view as God is not fighting me with full force. With no restraint but with full might powered with the power from the outside.

Then suddenly I felt something it was way to fast I didn't even notice it. Even with all the boost I have, I was only able to see when it hit.

"Apollo!" I heard Alicia it seems she moved knowing what's going on.

The tentacles and pillars move quite too fast and one managed to wrapped around my leg before I could dodge, another came for my neck.

I roared and spun my blade in a tight arc, releasing a shockwave of heavenly flame. The tentacles burned, but they didn't scream.

They absorbed it.

"Well I can see that now"

I remained compose and forcefully remove the tentacles with my own strength.

This is what I hate about Nirvana's skills, his damn flesh can eat anything it wants. And since Dominos had complete control of it I am in trouble.

A few steps away, Dominos slowly walked toward me, the earth decaying beneath his feet. Each step summoned more of those black pillars. Like blooming towers of corruption, they pulsed with an energy that I hadn't seen since Mahika's fall.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Dominos whispered, raising his hand. "This is the power that I long to show my teacher. Now, you will be the first one to see." he then looked crazier than before adding.

"My dearest teacher, my faithful killer and the person of my ruin, Apollo"

For a moment I felt a sudden chill its as if he was talking to me and not the Apollo of the past. But I don't have the time to dwell on those things.

The tentacles launched again—this time faster. Each one tipped with obsidian blades. I slashed, dodged, teleported mid-motion, but even with my system boosting me, a few grazed my shoulder and side. My skills activated immediately but with Dominos current body he was able to tank those damage.

It's quite irritating, this damn flesh that makes even the authorities of gods useless and now it could even eat the power from the outside. My options are dwindling even the Sage's sphere cant provide me with answers. I must came up with something on my own.
