Chapter 296: Draco's Death (2): Sorrow Reigns
Aaargh!!
The loud cry of Rose rang throughout the battlefield as they all watched Draco giving up the ghost. The Seats of Demon and the girls felt their world shatter when they saw his cold body.
Each of them was devastated by this. If they hadn't been weak, they would have helped Draco in the battle. This thought kept crossing their minds, making them regret and feel angry at themselves for being weak.
The surrounding crowd watched Draco's dead body, now that they were back on Cerulean Earth. Those who hadn't witnessed the battle were confused about what had happened that led to Draco's death.
Those who had watched and were arriving began to spread the news of Draco's death and the sequence of events leading up to it. Those who missed it felt regret—they could sense how intense and exciting the battle had been.
Vincent also came down and silently watched the sorrowful gathering. After a few minutes of grieving, he said coldly, "I guess it's time for you guys to join him on his way," as he raised the Heavenly Sword.
There was no way he could leave them alive with the talent they had and the monstrous hatred they harbored toward him.
Everyone near Draco turned to Vincent with wrathful killing intent. Suddenly,
"You guys wait. Master's soul is still caged by his body," Azria, the Undead Demon, said. When the Seats of Demon heard this, they were surprised; as for the others, they were confused about what it meant.
"It seems that Master can still be saved," Alya said with happiness.
When the others heard this, they finally understood what it meant, making them hopeful.
Azria sighed. "But alas, it's not easy. Someone would have to sacrifice themselves for Master to be alive—and it must be someone with an intense life force."
When everyone heard this, their mood dropped as they looked at Draco's body. Some of them looked at themselves, knowing their life force wasn't intense enough.
"I volunteer," Rose was the first to step forward, looking at Draco with a smile.
"I volunteer," Lyraea and Ivy said at the same time after Rose. They looked at one another, surprised they had spoken in unison.
When Azria saw this, he examined both of them. One was a Dragon Goddess who had once fallen and was now trying to regain her power. As a former Dragon Goddess, her vitality was almost on par with that of a god. The other was a phoenix—a dual-colored phoenix with immense vitality that allowed her to undergo Nirvana.
As for Rose, they knew of her intense vitality. Though not as strong as the phoenix's or the goddess's, it was close.
Then Azria thought of something.
"How about you all do it together? This would increase your chance of survival," Azria said. The Seats of Demon looked at one another and realized this would be better.
Lyraea, Rose, and Ivy looked at each other with determined expressions.
"Let's do this," they said together in unison.
Vincent looked at the crowd surrounding Draco, confused about what was going on. He could see the smiles and expressions on their faces. Are they happy that Draco is dead? The more he thought about it, the more confused he became.
Then, suddenly, he saw Azria moving towards Draco's body as Rose gently placed him on the ground. The others gave them space, leaving Draco's corpse on the ground, with Lyraea, Rose, and Ivy forming a triangle around Draco and Azria, who stood beside his corpse.
Azria's hands began to move as he chanted. An eerie aura began to spread from his body. "Forbidden Undead Technique: Lifeforce Plunder."
It was only after seeing this that Vincent realized what they were trying to do. He saw lifeforce flowing from Lyraea, Rose, and Ivy into Draco's body. He was confused at first, before noticing something—Draco's soul was still in his body. Even though he didn't know how or why it was still there, he knew he had to stop whatever was going on.
As for the crowd of people, they were confused about what was happening. Why were Azria and the others making such strange movements, and what was this eerie feeling coming from Azria?
"Are they trying to revive him?" Those who could notice the transfer of lifeforce muttered. This sent a wave of shock through the crowd. When they saw Vincent moving, it further confirmed their thoughts, leaving them astonished by what was happening.
As Vincent moved towards Draco and the others, he was stopped by the Seat of Demon.
"You have to pass through us before you can think of harming Master again," Adrian said.
Vincent smiled. "It seems you guys love death a lot. Since you love it, I'll make you see it," he snorted as he made his move.
He slashed towards Adrian, who defended but was sent flying by the strike. Vincent began to attack the rest of the Seat of Demon. When the Seat of Demon realized Vincent's strength, they entered their true forms and continued the battle.
The crowd surrounding them watched the fight unfold, but the Seat of Demon was being suppressed. If not for their instinct and knowledge as former gods, they would have been heavily injured. However, they weren't planning on fighting Vincent—they were buying time for Azria to finish the process. Vincent also realized this.
"Enough of this," Vincent snorted as he struck with his Dao. The Seat of Demon was sent flying, seriously injured, with parts of their bodies missing.
Vincent rushed toward Draco, but alas, he was too late. By the time he reached him, the process was complete, and Draco woke up.
"Then I'll have to kill him." This time, Vincent didn't aim for the girls or Azria, but for Draco, who was regaining his lifeforce.
PUCHI!
PUCHI!
PUCHI!
A/N: Some might be confused about how Draco's soul was able to stay within his body. Don't forget that his bones had been reforged by the Starry Sky Dragon Bloodline. This is what I will say.
