I May Be a Virtual Youtuber, but I Still Go to Work

chapter 236

[OP: OPEN THE FREAKING SERVER RIGHT NOWWWW]

You’ve got 10 seconds.
I said OPEN THE SERVER.
If it ends here, we’re all screwed.

[Comments]
— Pazijik715: Wait, did this bastard actually die from blood pressure or something?
ㄴ Pazijik101: Lightning Metropolis is wild, people are literally dying 😨
ㄴ Pazijik008: LMAOOOOOOOO
— Pazijik500: Why’d they cut off the stream at the best damn part
ㄴ Pazijik085: Literally ten minutes before the server shut down 💀

[That Red Hood reveal tho LOL]
Movgun, that bastard, seriously went full method actor.
Honestly thought he’d at least try to defend himself, but nope 😂

At this point, with the server ending next week and the faction war being super one-sided,
I guess Magia was right—better to throw in a fresh event. So he just went all in lmao.
[Comments]
— Pazijik790: FYI, Movgun has an RP extension pass.
ㄴ Pazijik790: Pretty sure he didn’t tell Magia, so even if he gets RP executed, he’s fine 😂
ㄴ Pazijik089: Wait, really? lol
ㄴ Pazijik790: Yeah, RP pass rates were higher in week 2
ㄴ Pazijik790: He saved up coins and pulled one then lol
… — — — — — — — — …

… — Pazijik Gallery — …
[Honestly, I don’t think Red Hood lasts more than a few days]
Sure, it was all WWE-tier roleplay until now, so people were just pretending to chase her.

But if the whole playerbase actually tries, she’s toast 😂
[Comments]
— Pazijik115: We’ll see, but she’s got a helicopter sooo 🤷
ㄴ Pazijik766: Helicopters crash when they run out of fuel, just sayin
ㄴ Pazijik086: I feel like Magia probably planned for that though?
ㄴ Pazijik559: I remember Park Inyeong said she was stockpiling fuel, but who knows how much

[Hot take: Red Hood’s going to last longer than you think (I have receipts)]
Remember Magia announced the treasure hunt right before the server shut down?

She raided the East Mafia hideout and blew it sky-high the next day.
So West Mafia survives—again 😂
Now the two sides are clashing hard over that,
and they’ll keep colliding while everyone hunts for the treasure.
If West Mafia gets their hands on the stash, the final faction war will actually be competitive.

Which means until that faction war wraps up on Thursday, they probably won’t even try to track her seriously.
There’s only so much organization the citizen side can manage lol
A lot of people aren’t even into combat.
Plus, did y’all forget Darai’s fan club?

Kinda funny when you think about it—the most organized faction among the civilians is literally Darai’s fan club.
There’s like 50 of them, super coordinated, all trying to find the treasure and gear up to act as her bodyguards.
Red Hood never even asked for allies lol
[Comments]
— Pazijik811: Oh right, Darai’s crew lmao
— Pazijik790: They’re actually cracked 😂
— Pazijik667: Are the mafias even gonna keep fighting though?
ㄴ Pazijik667: East should know it’s not worth it by now
ㄴ Pazijik201: Some mafia players are in Darai’s fan club—if they start sowing chaos, it’s over lol
ㄴ Pazijik201: Like the post says, it’ll all come to a head after the faction war
ㄴ Pazijik752: East has to recover the stuff Magia stole before they can even chase her

End of Week 2.
During the one-day server maintenance before Week 3 begins, Momo called in Magia again.

It was Monday. Momo was wrapping up her day as Magia came in for hers. The two faced each other in the CEO’s office.
The first thing Momo said?
“New all-time high.”

“Oh?”
At the end of Week 1, Pazijik viewership had hit 350,000 (400,000 if you include Bachubachu’s YouTube rebroadcasts).
In Week 2, streamers pumped out even more content, and clip sites exploded with traffic.
With Magia’s Red Hood rampage factored in, they hit 400,000.

When Movgun declared he was Red Hood at 5:50 AM, the stream still had over 250,000 concurrent viewers.
Since he was the police chief, linked directly or indirectly to everyone in the city, the impact was massive.
People were glued to every stream trying to follow the reactions in real time.
The three mafia bosses who got wrecked, and the bumbling duo Orca and Luna who witnessed Movgun’s escape, all unloaded their fury online.

Meanwhile, members of the Darai fan club backed him, saying, “If even Movgun crossed over, then clearly Red Hood is the city’s true justice.”
The hype only grew louder.
Even on a day filled with streamer break notices due to maintenance, the community was on fire.

“And remember that voice acting gig I mentioned before?” Momo said. “They want to revisit the contract. Seriously.”
“Because… I priced too high?”
“No. Too low. They bumped it up.”
“Oh.”

Cheon Do-hee ruffled Magia’s hair.
“They’re obsessed with your Tia RP. Apparently there’s a character just like her planned for a story arc a few months out, and they really want you to voice her.”
“It was that good?”

“…You haven’t watched your own clips?”
“No time. And Seung-yeon and Jae know I get awkward watching myself, so they don’t show me.”
“Hmph. Makes sense. Still, you should. You’re seriously possessed out there.”

“Really?”
“I had no idea you could act like that until we started this RP server.
Honestly, the fact that the server’s ending soon makes it even funnier.
You’re always so stoic, and then suddenly boom—Oscar-level drama. I was shocked.”
Magia shrugged.

“I’ve always liked characters like this. Been watching them since I was a kid—even VTubers.”
“Really?”
“That’s actually why you became my oshi.”

“Huh? Me? But I’m nothing like Tia.”
“Well, think of it as a cursed blend. I like teasing, messing with people, causing trouble… Add in your charisma and confidence, and boom—Tia.”
“…Really?”

“Kidding. Honestly, I just couldn’t think of another criminal character.”
“Hey.”
Do-hee gave her a playful punch. Magia rubbed her head, grinning.

“There’s this VTuber I watch a lot—she roleplays as a mafia boss. I guess I learned a lot from her.”
“Oh, I think I know who. From Bachubachu JP, right?”
“Yup. Honestly, I owe her. I haven’t caught her live lately, but once the server ends, I’m gonna drop a massive superchat.”

“Well, I’m grateful too. You’ve helped a lot.”
Now, the server was racing toward its finale.
Three major events remained:

The revitalized faction war between East and West after the power rebalance,
Magia’s treasure hunt and the looming bloody pre-festival,
And the closing ceremony.
Magia would be front and center for all of them.
As she threw on her coat to leave, Do-hee said:

“Try not to die. Even Pazijik’s counting on you now.”
The Red Hood storyline—never planned at the start, born from Darami’s wild RP—was now the server’s final boss arc.
How Magia ended it could elevate the server’s already massive success into legendary territory.

“I’m not sure I’ll live up to the hype. But I’d like to survive at least until Thursday, when the faction war ends.”
“You probably will. People are more focused on treasure boxes than hunting you.”
The East Mafia wanted to catch Magia, but since she blew up their base and stole half their supplies (which she turned into treasure), their priority shifted to recovering assets first.

They still wanted to win the final war.
But if the West Mafia found those supplies first, it could tip the balance.
The East still had superior aim, but if the West caught up in gear? The scales would even out.
“Besides, the assistant director’s on your side, right?” said Do-hee, staring at Magia.

“She’s good. No way she’d let you die.”
“I think you’d do a better job saving me.”
“Now you say that? Too late.”

Do-hee puffed her cheeks and marched out, bag and phone in hand.
“And if I’m seen too close to you, people get suspicious.
They’re already saying you’ve got insider info from the hospital. That’s why you’ve been so bold lately.”
“I told everyone I got the tips from Manger, the taxi driver. It’s not even a secret.”

“You know those people don’t fact-check your stream before spreading theories.”
“Fair.”
Magia followed her to the elevator and asked:

“So, I’ll be sticking with Taro for the next three days. You okay with that?”
“…”
“She’s not even going to work starting tomorrow. Said she’s going all-in on protecting me.”

Do-hee wanted to say “why the hell are you telling me this,” but…
The RP server wasn’t over yet.
No dragging the story outside the game. So she just smiled like nothing was wrong.

Besides, Tia—Magia’s RP character—was going to be RP executed and disappear after Friday’s tag game anyway.
She was only acquaintances with Manger, and even that was just from a few taxi rides.
No reason to be bothered.

“It’s fine. Just part of the RP. If I wanted less drama, I should’ve quit and become a streamer instead.”
Magia laughed.
“Finally! You said it.”

“Huh?”
“Honestly, I never understood why you got so worried when I was around Taro.”
Stretching her arms, Magia turned back toward the office.

The elevator arrived, but Do-hee didn’t board right away.
She just stood there, staring blankly, and muttered:
“…Was I really that obvious?”

***
Week 3 begins.
Everything unfolded exactly as expected.

The East scrambled to recover their stolen supplies.
The West fought tooth and nail to find them first and maybe win the final faction war.
Even the civilians got involved—hunting for the treasure to sell it back to mafias for a last-minute payday.
From Tuesday (Day 1) to Thursday’s final faction war, the server was pure chaos.

Despite overwhelming odds, the East Mafia lived up to their reputation—
Toppling the West’s base and seizing control of the entire city.
Half of the West immediately defected to Red Hood.
Short on supplies, but determined to fight to the end—they refused to let the East claim victory.
Then, Friday night at 8 PM.

The police and East Mafia officially launched an all-out operation to wipe out Red Hood.
Their key objective? Reclaim the last treasure box hidden at the northern docks.
In the hills overlooking the war zone, surrounded by a wide formation of allied forces, Foxfire went live on her final broadcast.

“Hello, this is reporter Foxfire. I’m currently stationed near the northern docks, now occupied by Red Hood and her forces.”
— It’s happening
— LET’S GOOOO
— My dopamine is peaking
“After a portion of the West Mafia joined Red Hood, Lightning Metropolis has now split in two.”

Red Hood’s Side:
Red Hood Trio, former police chief Movgun, Central Hospital’s assistant director Taro, ~50 members of the Darai fan club, ~30 West Mafia defectors.
City’s Side:
Police, hospitals, the full East Mafia, a few flipped West Mafia, and nearly all remaining citizens.
“The numbers are roughly 3 to 1 in our favor, but they’ve built a heavy barricade out of containers and seem ready to hold out.
And the number of explosives they’ve stockpiled is a serious concern.”

Doctors and nurses, normally off-limits for RP violence, were fair game tonight.
If Red Hood wins, she gets one legal day to slaughter ❖ Nоvеl𝚒ght ❖ (Exclusive on Nоvеl𝚒ght) every citizen on the server. A true blood festival.
If the citizens win, Red Hood and Movgun will be RP executed.
The great evil will fall, and Lightning Metropolis will have a peaceful closing ceremony.

“But we must fight. We have to bring Darai and her criminals to justice, by law, so we can reclaim peace in this city.”
Moved by Miho’s words, the crowd erupted in cheers.
Miho pulled out a submachine gun from her inventory and shouted:

“Just for today, I’ll fight for the people.
Down with Red Hood! The citizens will triumph!!”
Bang!
“Aaah!”

“What the—?!”
“She’s been shot!!”
A single sniper bullet struck Miho in the shoulder, knocking her flat.

Moments later, someone screamed after identifying the source from Red Hood’s stream:
“Former Police Chief Movgun just sniped Foxfire with a sniper rifle!!”
And just like that, the mask was off.

The most dangerous member of Red Hood wasn’t Darai or Taro—
It was Movgun, the man who’d pretended to be a pillar of justice until now.
His surprise opening shot became a rallying cry.
Citizens roared in anger and charged the warehouse.

The final war for Lightning Metropolis had begun.
“RAAAAGGGHHHH!!”
“KILL THEM!!”
“YOU’RE DONE, RED HOOD!!!”
