chapter 237
The war between Red Hood and Lightning Metropolis began with Movgun’s preemptive strike.
They were outnumbered three to one.
But as his opening shot showed, Movgun was anything but intimidated.
A horde of under-equipped civilians, enraged by the sudden gunfire, charged recklessly toward the docks?
That was exactly what Movgun had hoped for.
After all, who was he?
A former pro gamer.
A recognized name in the Battle Colosseum scene—still getting calls as a coach or analyst whenever tournaments rolled around.
Even if he’d been constantly outwitted and harassed by Magia lately, back in his prime, Movgun was a monster of a sniper—
A player who would blow your head off the moment he saw you.
Now, every time he reloaded, another shot landed with pinpoint precision.
Enemies dropped one after another, and the viewers watching the stream couldn’t help but cheer.
— HELL YEAHHHHHH
— Truly a legend who never rusts 😂
— He’s so damn accurate lol
— THIS is Movgun
— This is the guy we remember 🔥
And it helped that he’d taken an S-tier sniper rifle from the police armory.
No matter how good their helmets were, civilians charging into the fight didn’t last more than two shots—at best.
Bang! Bang! BANG!
The sniper rifle roared with each pull of the trigger.
And the moment any civilians made it close, they were met with a hail of bullets from Darai’s fan club, who were entrenched behind container lines.
The charging crowd of civilians quickly realized they were screwed and began retreating in panic.
Over half of the 100 or so who had rushed in—thinking they might as well enjoy a wild shootout before the server ended—were wiped out before they could even do anything.
Darai’s fan club erupted in celebration after winning the first clash, while Movgun calmly stepped away from the window to check his remaining ammo.
Meanwhile, Dingsam—now acting boss of the Mafia Alliance—watched the charge and retreat and could only groan in frustration.
Not even ten minutes in, the 300 vs. 100 battle had already become 250 vs. 100.
“Goddammit. I told them we needed control on our side.”
The so-called citizen–police–mafia alliance had never been particularly smooth.
Sure, the mafia and police made up a powerful military force—but if they wiped out Red Hood and gained too much power, the citizens would just end up under mafia rule.
So the citizens had insisted that they—or at least the police—retain operational control.
And since the city wouldn’t function without civilians (think Olympus Foods and other essential services), the mafia had no choice but to agree.
Even if the server was ending soon, everyone had to pretend it would keep running until the finale—that was part of the RP.
So after debate, the role of commander was handed to a representative from the citizens.
But then Movgun, who’d worked tirelessly for the citizens, turned around and declared himself Red Hood.
That blew all trust in the police, and the rep on their side was effectively booted from the command structure.
So who was the commander representing the citizens?
“W-Wait! Citizens, please don’t rush in like that! Can’t we save the people who fell?!”
“Doctors are valid targets today, so trying to revive them might get you shot. Let’s calm down, sir.”
“I-I mean, uhh… I’m just saying, I suck at team coordination, okay?! How did I even end up as the field commander?! I was just the rep!”
It was none other than Youngun.
President of TCB—the only media outlet funded by citizen donations throughout all three weeks.
Miho had run herself ragged gathering scoops and building the station’s credibility.
Most of her reports turned out to be true, and TCB became widely trusted.
But Miho had no interest in combat and was always too busy anyway.
So Youngun—who spent his time flirting with women—ended up as the default choice for representative and commander.
— This is gonna end in a total rout, isn’t it?
— Nah, not yet. ➤ NоvеⅠight ➤ (Read more on our source) The mafia hasn’t done anything.
— Civilians hate winning through the mafia tho...
— It’s all because the damn police chief turned traitor 😂
If the citizens had a rigid hierarchy like the mafia, maybe it’d be different.
But they were, as always, a chaotic mess of free spirits.
Even the 50 or so survivors from that first reckless charge were now standing around, waiting for Youngun to give another signal.
Their eyes pleaded: Use us as meat shields if you must—but give us a real strategy.
But Youngun was completely at a loss.
As mentioned, he had zero tactical skill.
And the North Dock Warehouse—where Red Hood had holed up—was practically a fortress.
Wasn’t that place blown to bits back in Week 1, when Movgun lost track of Darai?
Sure. But then Dochi Construction rebuilt it.
Now it was twice as durable.
And it wasn’t just surrounded by containers.
It was surrounded by armed containers—stocked with stolen explosives and guarded by Darai’s fan club.
Navigating those narrow paths to reach the warehouse? Practically impossible for the civilians.
Using mafia or police to lead the charge meant losing way too much firepower early on.
Sending in citizens first turned them into nothing but cannon fodder.
Sneaking around to the back wasn’t an option either—it was open sea.
If Movgun started firing again, they’d have nowhere to run.
Some suggested using two medical helicopters and one remaining police chopper for an aerial assault.
But no one knew how long they’d last against Magia and Pino’s firepower.
Unlike Movgun—whose combat ability had been shown on stream—
Red Hood’s other members were still mostly a mystery.
In fact, a recon chopper had just been nearly shredded by machine gun fire from over the sea.
“Ugh... this is driving me nuts! What are we supposed to do?!”
Frustrated, Dingsam pushed through the crowd and grabbed Youngun by the collar.
“If this is how you’re gonna lead, just let me do it!”
“W-We can’t do that! Lightning Metropolis belongs to the citizens!”
“Then do your damn job and LEAD!”
“W-Wait, are you threatening me?! I-I’m terrified! This is why we can’t trust the mafia!”
— LOL
— This is a total mess
— Are they seriously losing a 3:1 fight?! 😂
:: Anonymous donor has gifted 1,000 Clouds! ::
:: You probably need to push from front, side, and rear all at once to stand a chance 😂 ::
— For real lol
— But in the current situation? No way that’s happening 😂
:: Anonymous donor has gifted 1,000 Clouds! ::
:: The police need to use all three helicopters to flank from both sides and the rear, while the citizens act as meat shields and the mafia pushes through after — that’s the only real shot at winning, tbh. ::
— This really does look brutal
— And don’t forget, Red Hood’s crew has been hanging around this area since the start — they know the terrain like the back of their hand 😂
— Plus, there’s the sea behind the base. A straight-up zerg rush just isn’t gonna work here 😂
The civilian side was in total chaos, with no agreement on a plan.
But surprisingly, the ones who calmed things down were the most unexpected duo.
“Commander! Please trust us just this once. We’ll open the path!”
“Yeah! Leave it to us. This kind of thing is right up our alley!”
The moment Youngun saw the faces of the Bungling Duo, he clicked his tongue and shook his head.
“Nope. Absolutely not. You two are a hard no.”
“Why not?!”
“Yeah! We haven’t even tried anything yet!”
“Well, what were you planning? Let’s hear it first at least.”
Orca (the “Dolphin”) stepped up confidently.
“The police armored car is pretty resistant to explosions. If we ram it straight through, we might be able to break open a path. We’ll drive it!”
Luna (the “Wolf-Wolf”) backed her up with a grin.
“Orca’s not good at curves, but she’s got insane straight-line drive. Even if something explodes nearby, she won’t flinch — she’ll just keep plowing forward. Just trust us this once!”
Youngun tilted his head. “Then why are you going too, Luna? Couldn’t we just send Orca?”
“We’re a pair. I need to get out and fight once she gets through. We’re not just going in to die.”
“We’re only effective as a duo. Together, we make 1.5 people.”
“…Huh. Well.”
Surprisingly, the idea wasn’t entirely ridiculous.
Orca had terrible steering, sure — but no one was better at driving in a straight line and crashing into things.
Even some mafia who’d been caught up in their past wrecks admitted this might actually work.
The crowd murmured in agreement, and the plan quickly gained traction.
Thanks to the wisdom of the mob, Youngun finally managed to piece together a three-phase attack plan.
Phase 1:
The citizens push in through the open front, drawing fire and soaking up Movgun’s sniper shots.
Phase 2:
All three helicopters carry police forces to strike from the rear of Warehouse No. 1, splitting into three angles.
Phase 3:
The mafia charges in through the path the citizens opened with their bodies, dealing the final blow to Red Hood.
As the Bungling Duo stood beside their armored vehicle, Youngun looked them over.
“You two good? You sure about this?”
Orca gripped the wheel, her hands trembling slightly.
“We have to do it. If we fail, we can’t face the Chief again.”
“…That Chief betrayed the citizens, you know?”
“Which is exactly why we have to show him!!”
Their time in Lightning Metropolis had been nothing but chaos, punishment, and hard-earned lessons.
And all of it was under Movgun’s watch.
Luna was from Bachubachu. Orca was from Parallel.
Neither of their bosses wanted to deal with their screw-ups, so all the disciplinary training got dumped on Movgun.
That meant the Chief had taught them everything — shooting, driving, subduing suspects.
And now they were going to use all those lessons against him.
“Chief once said: if you can just ram the perp’s car dead-on in a straight line, you’ve done your job.
After three weeks of training, we want to show him we’ve learned something.”
Luna gripped her hands tightly and gave Orca a nod.
“You got this. Let’s hit him hard. Show him how well we learned.”
“Right!”
VROOOM.
The armored police car began to rumble to life, ready to charge.
The three helicopters carrying elite police units circled nearby, preparing to move in from behind.
Citizens spread out, ready to follow the armored car’s path.
The mafia loaded into SUVs and vans, waiting to advance behind the main assault.
Youngun, in command, raised his radio and shouted to the leaders of each faction:
“GOOOOOO!!”
VROOOOOM!
The armored vehicle roared forward.
Gunfire from Darai’s fan club and Movgun exploded from the front lines, but the car didn’t flinch.
Magia’s bombs — planted earlier — blew up in a chain reaction, bringing containers crashing down in an attempt to block the path.
But it was no use.
In fact, one container collapse acted like a ramp, launching the armored car into the air.
It landed just 10 meters from Warehouse No. 1, smashed through the front door, and breached the building.
From where the citizens stood, no one could tell what happened to them after that.
But if not now, then when?
This was the only chance they’d get.
Youngun shouted with all his might:
“CITIZENS, CHARGEEEEEE!!”
A massive roar echoed across the docks.
“CHARGEEEEEE!!”
“LEEEET’S GOOOOOOO!!!”
