Chapter 491: 491 Invincible: A Worthy Funeral, Embracing Two Heroines, Bargaining with Cecil and a Trip to the Beach with Eve, Kate and Amanda.

In that place stood the figure of a legend, a Leonite who, ever since he first tasted victory in battle, spent hundreds of years seeking that one fight. The one where he could leave behind the ultimate culmination of his skills, the battle where his utmost satisfaction would be sealed with his death.

This lion was honorable, but also extremely violent. He knew that his own thirst for battle would eventually destroy his own world, so he left, leaving behind a story that would be told for generations upon generations. For those who had found peace, he was a hero. For those whose lives ended by his golden mass, his sword, his claws, his fangs, or any weapon he held in his hands, he was a monster.

To Allen, who was the last to know him in this world, the lion was someone worthy of respect. That was why he remained silent in front of the Leonite, an alien with the appearance of a humanoid lion, with white fur and scarlet eyes that were now lifeless… as if he were a statue, never having fallen to the ground. His power remained the same as it had been when he landed that final blow—one that managed to make Allen feel pain.

The Chat didn't bother Allen, but there was concern. The Dolls also remained silent, despite wanting to go and embrace him.

Allen was not sad, or at least he didn't feel this as something sad. This was a farewell—one that could only be met with respect.

Allen restored his tattered clothes and smiled.

'System, what do you think? How was he able to hit me?'

Allen was not arrogant. But this was Allen—the same Allen who had taken blows capable of erasing entire galaxies. How could Thokk possibly reach that level?

[ I... I don't know... ]

'...'

The young man smiled, feeling a strange sense of satisfaction. Then, with a motion of his hand, four stone gravestones emerged from the ground around Thokk. Allen was not about to leave Thokk's body to be desecrated. There were too many mad scientists out there, and even Cecil himself might want to turn him into some kind of zombie soldier or something.

'System...'

[ I have some coordinates for locations far removed from any form of life for millions of light-years... ]

'Open a portal...'

Once the stone coffin was created, Allen lifted it and carried it to an unknown place. Inside a cave, he placed the coffin for an eternal rest. When he was done, he returned to Chicago.

Allen received several calls, probably from a nervous Cecil who wanted to ask about Thokk's corpse.

"Walker!"

"Cecil, I have an idea of what you're about to say, so don't."

There was a clear darkness in Allen's voice. Cecil had been willing to use the corpses of his soldiers to create Reanimen—essentially very strong zombies, capable of giving a Viltrumite trouble if they worked together. If a human corpse could be turned into that, then what kind of monster would Thokk's corpse become?

No, according to the timeline, Sinclair; the creator of the Reanimen, shouldn't have been captured by Invincible and brought to Cecil yet. Though that was only based on the original world's chronology, and as had already been proven, the main difference between this world and the original Invincible universe was the altered sequence of events.

"I'm only thinking about humanity..." Cecil said gravely.

Allen narrowed his eyes. "I know... That's why I won't kill you. But stop testing my limits… Unlike you, I actually have some."

Cecil fell silent. He hadn't expected Allen, who seemed like someone who would do anything for money or fun; to be so reluctant to hand over the corpse of an enemy.

"I know you don't understand... and it doesn't matter."

"Tsk... Whatever. The team is already at the building, taking Invincible, Rex Splode, and Black Samson to emergency care. I should thank that girl for her first aid... she saved two valuable heroes..."

"..."

Cecil narrowed his eyes, realizing that Allen also wasn't willing to reveal Rebecca and Esdeath's true identities. It was obvious they were his acquaintances, but just from his statement, one could tell the kind of relationship he had with them. It didn't matter much, but both of them had effortlessly defeated two troublesome supervillains.

"Walker... you're not like Nolan, are you?"

Allen opened his eyes and scoffed. "If you mean pretending to be an ally just to betray everyone later and kill anything that stands in my way of conquering the world… then no, you don't know me at all."

Cecil sighed in relief. Allen had acted stubborn and serious in this case, but his chaotic nature was still there. It was easy to see that Allen was like a tourist, just looking for the best way to have fun in this world. Cecil preferred "that" Allen, he might be a problem, he might be selfish, unpredictable, greedy, arrogant, hedonistic, a womanizer, and a complete son of a bitch, but he was easier to deal with and, of course, easier to please.

On the other hand, Cecil did not want a second terrifying monster he couldn't control.

"Alright, see you later, Walker."

Allen hung up the phone, keeping his half-smile. "Cecil won't live long if he keeps testing the limits of every dangerous guy he meets..."

Makima – I think you handled that well…

Artoria – At the very least, you managed to maintain the status quo, even if this fight wasn't in the script.

Rebecca – The fight didn't escalate beyond what it should have, so while it was flashy, it didn't go beyond what they've seen before.

Albedo – Those bastards! They'll never know that if Allen-sama had struck the ground with the same force he used against Battle Beast, this world would have ended! They should be kneeling and showing more respect!

"That wouldn't be fun. I'd rather keep a low profile in this world..."

Several streets were destroyed, and multiple buildings had collapsed, yet this fight was extremely contained compared to what it could have been—all thanks to Allen. If it weren't for him damaging Battle Beast so much, the fight could have dragged on for days, devastating the entire planet… or worse, destroying it altogether. After all, the most terrifying thing about a Leonite wasn't their strength or speed, but their horrifying ability to withstand damage and their seemingly limitless endurance.

2B appeared at his side, she was carrying Allen's trench coat in her arms to protect it as if it were a treasure. "Master..."

Allen extended his hand, caressed 2B's cheek, and then let her put his black trench coat back on him.

...

Allen floated and flew toward Machine Head's building, which was now flooded with GDA agents. As he landed, the remaining Guardians approached him…

Eve threw herself into his arms without hesitation, and of course, he didn't reject her.

"Are you okay?"

"That's my line!" Eve lifted her face from his chest, her eyes teary and full of frustration.

Allen blinked in surprise but understood that from their perspective, at first, he had seemed weaker than Thokk, who had taken his blows without flinching. Not to mention the terrifying aura Thokk emanated, in contrast to Allen, who didn't seem intimidating at all.

"Relax, I'm fine..." Allen stroked Eve's head with a smug grin. "You guys have been hit by me for months now—you should already know how strong I am."

"Tsk... Ouch!"

Amanda kicked his shin, only to hurt herself in the process.

"What are you doing, Amanda?" Allen looked at Monster Girl, speechless. What was with this sudden attack?

"You… People were worried!" Amanda wanted to scold Allen but realized she wasn't in a position to do so since she had not followed his orders without question. She grew flustered and embarrassed. "I just… You shouldn't play favorites..."

Kate put her hands on her hips. "What she means is, it's not fair that you're only hugging Eve."

Eve blushed but didn't let go of Allen, glaring at Kate like a cat defending its food.

But Allen thought she had a point, so he extended his other arm and pulled Amanda into the hug—without letting go of Eve.

Everyone, including the GDA agents, was left speechless.

That Allen could hug two girls at the same time in front of everyone without the slightest shame was simply the epitome of a shameless womanizer.

Eve tried to get upset, but before she could say anything, Allen kissed her on the nose, leaving her speechless.

"You still want to complain?"

Eve looked around, and with the eyes of thirty people on her, she had no choice but to bury her face in Allen's chest.

"And you?" Allen grinned like a bastard at Amanda. She couldn't respond either, overwhelmed by Allen's shamelessness, and accepted the situation—or rather, was forced to accept it.

Gwen – Using social pressure to convince two girls... now I appreciate meeting you when you were shyer...

MJ – No, no, no, that tactic only works if there were feelings beforehand; otherwise, Eve would have already kicked him in the balls~

Felicia – Still, don't you think Allen is acting a bit more aggressive with them?

Annie – Yeah, he held back a lot these past few months, and their relationship barely progressed...

Unohana – Ara~ From what I understand, Allen didn't pressure Eve because he wanted her to get used to this kind of relationship before committing for real... isn't that right?

Yoruichi – In other words, they haven't slept together?

Rukia – Yoruichi-san?!

Yoruichi – What? Eve has been of legal age for over a month now. If nothing happened, it's because of Allen, since that girl practically drools over him.

Rias – This kind of conversation shouldn't be public...

Akeno – Ufufu ~ Don't you realize that people stop commenting every time Allen's "girlfriends" argue? Everyone loves gossip~

There was an awkward and somewhat embarrassed cough in many different worlds after Akeno's remark. But no one raised their hand to admit they were guilty.

...

Kate watched the interaction in silence, her dark pupils reflecting a hint of interest but, more than anything, a bit of envy. Things like this would happen often with Allen, but only for the girls who could accept his harem. Was that something she wanted?

Kate didn't know, but one thing was certain; her resistance to seeing Allen with other girls had weakened. Amanda and Eve were the same. Little by little, their mindsets were changing, at least enough to accept the kind of man Allen was and what loving him entailed.

After teasing the girls for a while, Allen let them go and walked toward a pair of agents who were struggling to lift Battle Beast's golden mass. Allen said nothing, simply moved them aside and lifted it himself with ease.

"I'm not going to make a coat out of your hide, but this mass is mine... You're fine with that, Thokk?"

Allen slung the golden mass over his shoulder and walked away with it. Cecil called the two agents and told them it didn't matter.

...

The next day, Allen sat in front of Cecil, his feet up on the desk.

"Walker, what are you planning?"

"What do you mean? Cecil, I saved the new Guardians from a powerful warrior..."

Cecil rubbed his temples and pulled out a check. "Fine, just get your feet off my desk..."

Allen was surprised at how understanding Cecil was; until he saw the check for only ten million. He frowned.

"Hey, is that really the price of your superheroes' lives?"

Cecil grumbled. "Walker, three of them are seriously injured. Eve, Amanda, and Kate are more your problem than mine, you damn womanizer!"

"Hey!" Allen crossed his arms, pretending to be offended. "You're right, but that doesn't change the fact that you're being stingy, Cecil."

"God, do you even know how much my salary is?!?" Cecil slammed the table.

Allen scoffed. "You spent four hundred billion on that satellite that shoots a laser from space. I'm sure as the director of the GDA, you've got plenty of budget..."

"Tsk, every time I talk to you, I feel like I'm getting scammed," Cecil muttered, grabbing the check and tripling the amount before handing it back.

"See? That wasn't so hard~"

Allen got up, ready to leave, but Cecil stopped him.

"Walker, what do I need to do to have you on our side in case Omni-Man goes rogue?"

"Cecil, we've already talked about this. I don't want to fight Omni-Man because if he's gone, I'd be next on your list..."

Cecil didn't fully trust Allen, and of course, that feeling was mutual; Allen didn't trust someone like Cecil either. But since Allen knew Cecil well while Cecil knew almost nothing about him, that gave Allen an overwhelming advantage, allowing him to be more lenient with Cecil.

"If the world ends, whether we're conquered by Viltrumites or destroyed, that would affect those girls you care so much about."

Cecil narrowed his eyes, waiting to see if Allen would show any hesitation or weakness, but it was impossible; Allen's eyes never wavered.

"Cecil, I'm not from this world. What makes you think I can't just leave and take the three of them with me?"

The GDA director clenched his teeth but didn't push further. Controlling Allen was impossible. Having him as an ally was a massive advantage no matter the cost, but Allen was too selfish. He didn't take orders, often refused Cecil's requests, and sometimes it was unclear if he was truly an ally or just amusing himself.

Allen left, and Cecil remained silent for a while longer.

"What do you think, Donald?"

Donald entered Cecil's office with a calm demeanor, adjusting his glasses, already knowing what his boss meant.

"Allen Walker is very strong, but sir, we've seen Omni-Man destroy an island in a fight and send a Texas-sized meteor flying… I don't think this fight proves Allen Walker is stronger than we thought."

Cecil stayed silent, crossing his arms. "No, it's just… I've seen a lot in my life, and this fight felt strange… like what happened didn't match what we actually saw…"

No matter how many times he replayed the battle in his head, Cecil couldn't conclude.

...

Three days after the incident, Allen felt like a change of pace was needed, so he went to the beach. No need to guess who went with him.

Eve, wearing a pink bikini, snuck up behind him and covered his eyes.

"Guess who?~" The red-haired, green-eyed girl pressed her body against him from behind, not even trying to hide her flirtatiousness.

"This flirty attitude tells me you could be Kate, but this sensation in my back is bigger than Kate... and the boldness of physical contact rules out Amanda, so… you're my Eve."

Eve pouted, grabbed Allen by the neck, and put him in a chokehold. "How dare you?!"

Allen laughed, turned around, and pulled her into an embrace. She didn't have time to let go, so her arms remained around his neck in a much more intimate way.

"I dare to do that and more," Allen whispered, moving in to kiss her.

Kate watched from afar with Amanda.

"When do you think we should step in?" Amanda asked, exasperated.

"Let them be a little longer. We lost rock-paper-scissors, remember?" Kate replied, bored.

"Doesn't it bother you?" Amanda asked awkwardly. She wore a white bikini and was happy to be able to wear a two-piece without looking weird, but she also wanted to spend more time with Allen. Yet, there were two other girls here.

"I don't have the right to be."

"What?"

"Unlike you two, I haven't accepted the deal. So, I have no commitments… but also no rights with him."

"What? I haven't accepted anything!" Amanda panicked.

"Girl, look at yourself; dressed like someone trying to impress her boyfriend, while your teammates are still in the hospital..."

Black Samson, Invincible, and Rex were still in the hospital, but the three of them had chosen to come to the beach with Allen. Their answer was pretty obvious.

Kate squinted her eyes. "But I'm surprised with Eve. She really seems to have forgotten about Rex."

"What?"

"Right now, Rex's in the hospital, and she doesn't seem to care about him. It's almost like she's forgotten about him... Allen is such a terrifying man, there's really no room in a woman's heart for another man with him around..."

Amanda thought for a moment and looked at Eve kissing Allen in the distance.

"Maybe you're right... He did say he was truly a drug, an aphrodisiac, and poison for women, but I didn't think it was to this extent..."

Amanda sighed.

"Do you regret it?" Kate asked.

Amanda scoffed. "Are you asking if I regret chasing the strongest and hottest man in the world, or if I'd rather be courted by some weirdo with degenerate tastes?"

"You're right! Hahaha!"

"Hahaha!"

Both girls laughed, realizing something. They were rivals in love, but instead of fighting they gradually got used to each other to the point of considering themselves friends.
