Chapter 195: The Frost Moon Sect Master In Action
Opposite the forest was a long wide road leading to small villages near the capital.
On the wide road were farmers and traders coming back from the capital. Their faces etched with smiles and exhaustion mixed, dust.
This was the life of an ordinary farmer. Although farming was tiring, they loved their simple life.
Among the farmers returning to their homes was a sturdy middle-aged man dressed in a plain ordinary robe.
Compared to the tired farmers, he was brimming with strong vitality. Many of the farmers gave him a cursory look but no one spoke.
"You rat really know how to hide!" a cold voice echoed in the air.
Instantly, all the farmers on the wide road widened their eyes. Their eyes wandered around as they tried to find the source of the voice.
In the sky, a beautiful woman dressed in a long purple Daoist robe appeared.
Seeing the woman, the sturdy middle-aged man was stunned. His jaw was slightly agape.
'How did she find me?!' he exclaimed in his mind.
They had been careful, making sure they were not being followed or discovered.
Since he left the capital, he did not detect presence following him. Yet, here she was, looking at him straight in the eyes.
Although stunned, he recovered quickly and put on an act. "What do you want?" he asked with an ignorant expression.
Watching his act, the woman sneered and her expression became icy. A terrified coldness emanated from her body.
Without speaking, she raised her palm and struck.
'Shit!'
Watching the horrifying palm strike filled with coldness that could freeze him to death.
The sturdy man wore a solemn expression as a powerful aura erupted from his body.
"Die!" he shouted.
"Mountain Weeping Punch."
For a moment, the atmosphere seemed to have changed, filled with sadness that made one want to weep.
Feeling such a sorrowful emotion, the woman creased her brow. Who would have expected those behind the attack were really evil cultivators?
Boom!
The two attacks collided and powerful shockwaves spread everywhere, destroying everything on their path.
As for the ordinary farmers, they had long escaped for their lives when they saw the two powerful experts.
"Dance of the Frozen Lotus." She threw another palm attack without hesitation.
Instantly, the sky was covered with frozen lotus made of spiritual energy. Anything the frozen lotus touched froze instantly.
The frost sent a cold shiver down the sturdy man's spine. Still, he hardened his expression.
Since escaping would be hard if not impossible, he went all out.
"Demon Fang Burst."
Instantly, a much more powerful aura erupted from his body. His cultivation at the Golden Core Realm Stage 2 was fully unleashed under the attack.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The Demon Fang Burst continued to shatter the terrifying Frozen Lotus on its path.
It was like the two forces were fighting for supremacy. But they were evenly matched.
However, the battle was far from over.
The sturdy man rose to the sky and met the woman head-on. Each unleashing everything in their arsenal.
In a couple of minutes, the two had exchanged hundreds of blows. The man had blood sipping from the corner of his lips, while the woman was still clean and her breath remained steady.
But if one looked carefully, they could see a bead of sweat on her forehead.
Although she gained an upper hand against her opponent, it was not enough for her to kill him.
"Hahaha. Who would have expected the Sect Master of the Frost Moon Sect will only amount to this!" he taunted with a sneer.
The Frost Moon Sect Master did not have any changes in her expression. Cold and expressionless.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, a thin bright sword appeared in her hand. "I want to know what gives you the confidence to look down on my Frost Moon Sect."
She said each word slowly and deliberately for the man to understand she was pissed off.
Feeling the subtle changes in the atmosphere...
The sturdy man frowned. 'Don't tell me she had not gone all out!'
Thinking of this, his heart skipped a beat and all the hair on his body stood on end.
"First Moon: Icy Petal Slash," her voice was low as she swung her sword.
Whoosh!
A bright flash emanated from her sword, cleaving everything on its path. It was filled with horrifying coldness mixed with bone-chilling sharpness.
Watching the incoming attack, terror appeared on his face. Without hesitating, he used one of his forbidden techniques.
"Blood Seal Palm."
A massive palm attack appeared in the sky, dripping in blood. The palm strike grew quickly, sealing everything in its path with blood.
Boom!
The sky trembled, shockwaves spread everywhere. The Blood Seal Palm could only halt the Icy Petal Slash for only a fraction of a second before it froze, splitting into pieces.
The sturdy man could not believe his eyes as he hastily retreated. But the sword strike was deadly fast, appearing in front of him.
Bang!
He was sent flying for hundreds of meters. His body destroyed the trees and bushes along the way.
When he finally came to a stop, his body was riddled with various cuts.
His robe was torn to pieces.
On his chest was a deep cut, stopped by a light defensive armor hidden beneath his robe.
Without it, he would have been seriously injured.
Still, the shock from the attack gave him an internal injury. Blood flowed out from his mouth.
Raising his head, his gaze met the Frost Moon Sect Master's piercing gaze. He shivered and scrambled to his feet.
Whoosh!
He took out a talisman and tore it.
Immediately, ten copies of himself appeared and they began to run in different directions.
From the last attack, he knew he couldn't defeat the Frost Moon Sect Master.
Thus, he did what the evil cultivators were good at–escaping.
Watching ten identical men, the Frost Moon Sect Master creased her brow for a moment before she took out a small compass.
She channeled her spiritual energy into the Qi Sense Compass, and the compass pointer pointed in a certain direction.
Looking in the direction, a cold sneer appeared on her face as she vanished from her spot.
Meanwhile, the news of the attack had spread throughout the capital. Such a terrifying battle could not be hidden.
Besides, the battle scene was not far from the capital.
When the people learned the Frost Moon Sect Master had acted, everyone came to a single conclusion.
The enemy must be an evil cultivator.
With that thought, everyone turned their eyes at the Golden Pavilion and Seven Talisman Trade Hall.
Now that it has been confirmed, there was no way they were going to let them stay in their city.
Inside the Seven Talisman Trade Hall's new building, a tense atmosphere hung in the air.
All the servants and attendants wore a grim expression. Their eyes frequently moved to the hall elders, waiting for them to act.
However, the elders turned blind eyes to their gaze.
Right now, they had more important things to worry about than the threat of weak ants.
Inside a room, a beautiful middle-aged woman sat with a grave expression. She had planned everything carefully.
Yet, their opponent still caught their trail.
"How is this possible?!" she whispered, her confusion deepened.
"Madam, what should we do?" an elder asked, his voice low, trying to hide his nervousness.
Everyone in the city knew how ruthless the Thousand Wealth Chamber was if they caught them.
They had families in the city that depend on them. They could die for their sin, but they were unwilling to let their families pay for their sin.
When the woman heard this, she raised her head and a deep frown crept up her face.
She wanted to lash out at the useless old men but controlled her impulse.
"You don't have to worry," she said with a force-assuring smile. "Since they did not discover us, they could do nothing to me or you."
Even with such assuring words, the three old men were not assured. Their hearts pounded heavily against their chest like ancient war drums.
This war drum only meant one thing: Death.
"What! Don't you believe me?" she snapped.
She might be under slight pressure, but that was it. She did not believe anyone in the Southern Region would dare lay a hand on her.
As long as she revealed her background and her husband, all those raising their voices would quiet down.
So she thought.
Unknown to her, her background meant nothing to Mo Jian and the Thousand Wealth Chamber.
Northeast of the capital were residential areas for many wealthy clans.
Suddenly, a group of men dressed in black jumped over a fence. Their steps were light and swift, leaving no traces.
The guards guarding the mansion entrance did not detect anything.
Inside the estate, the black men unsheathed their weapons and moved like silent reapers.
Their gleaming daggers slit the throats of everyone they encountered. The silent massacre was going on while the people were still talking about the recent battle.
