Chapter 196: Red Hollow Sect
Inside the Blackscale Forest, a middle-aged man covered in blood was escaping with all his might.
Frequently, he took out a pill from his spatial pouch and swallowed it.
"That damn bitch." He gritted his teeth in anger. "You just wait, it will soon be our turn to dominate the continent."
Taking another pill, he continued to push deeper into the forest. The Blackscale Forest was a massive forest that reached as far as Crane City.
It was one of the dangerous forests in the Southern Region, home to many powerful Tier 3 beasts.
Some even claimed there were Tier 4 beasts living inside the forest.
Such dangerous forest, apart from a strong mercenaries team, no one would dare venture deep into the forest.
Yet, the man was racing inside the forest as if it was his backyard.
Tens of meters from the middle-aged man was the Frost Moon Sect Master. She had been following since he tried to escape from the capital.
At first, she wanted to kill once and for all. But when she detected he was escaping with all his might, not just to heal his injury...
She knew something was up.
Therefore, she decided to follow him and see where he was going.
Since she detected he was an evil cultivator, he would have a base where he hides.
Perhaps, a sect.
On the continent, evil sects and evil cultivators had always been a thorn in their flesh. They were ruthless and selfish, and wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice millions of people for their selfish gain.
Eradicating them was the sole responsibility of all cultivators. And now, it seems she was going to find another evil cultivator hideout.
Unknown to the trail behind him, the man continued heading deeper into the forest.
After traveling for over two hours, the man stopped in front of a hill covered in vines. He cleaned all the traces of blood from his body and arranged his clothes.
He looked at his surroundings one more time before he stretched out his hand to part ways with the vines.
He entered and disappeared into the vine. Everything returned to its tranquility, leaving only howls of beasts and chirping of insects from the distance.
A few minutes later, the Frost Moon Sect Master appeared before the vines.
She squinted her gaze and thought for a moment before she followed his footsteps and entered the vines.
Behind the vines was a long, wide tunnel.
Looking at the tunnel, she creased her brow as she saw the various footprints.
'This should hide out many evil cultivators,' she mused.
Before venturing deeper into the tunnel, she took out a talisman from her spatial pouch.
It was the Shadow Cloak Talisman, best at concealing presence in shadow and dark areas.
She tore the talisman and her presence seemed to have vanished.
Confidently, she ventured deeper into the tunnel.
As she headed deeper into the tunnel, the tunnel became twice as wide as the entrance.
Also, the footprints became more obvious and fresh.
After walking for thirty minutes, she arrived at a wide open space illuminated by the light stone.
The space was massive enough that it could contain hundreds of people without getting overcrowded.
Around the massive opening were many caves. From the caves, young men and women came out, dressed in black and red robes.
Seeing their robes, the Frost Moon Sect Master knew this was not a hideout but a major powerful evil sect in the Southern Region.
The Red Hollow Sect.
In the past decades, the Red Hollow Sect was one of the most infamous evil sects in the region, terrorizing the Southern Region.
Many times, they had tried to domesticate most of the areas in the Southern Region.
Their evil blood art made them bloodthirsty, losing their morality to gain power and speed their cultivation.
During the last war, her sect had lost a lot of good people fighting them.
Mere seeing them made her want to come out of her concealment and kill all the vile bastards, but she controlled her hatred.
She took a deep breath and headed deeper. This was just the outer area; the inner sect and core disciples would hold the upper echelon.
Taking another tunnel, there were a few Foundation Realm guards protecting the tunnel, but none of them detected her presence.
She sneaked in and ventured deeper. To reach the inner area, she walked for an additional ten minutes.
Arriving at the inner area, the first thing she noticed was the thick stench of blood. Also, the spiritual energy in the air was a lot purer than the outer area.
Gnashing her teeth, veins protruded on her forehead. Her gaze locked on the thousands of human skeleton piles at the side, and her hatred for the Red Hollow Sect reached another level.
'I swear to the heavens, I'll kill you all,' she vowed solemnly.
Leaving the inner area, she walked for another thirty minutes before she arrived at the core area.
The caves in the core area were a lot fewer than both the inner area and outer area.
However, the number of human skeletons piled up in a corner of the open space made her want to destroy everything.
Still, she managed to maintain her rationality. If she acted now, she would kill a lot of them while also, many would escape.
And that leads to chaos outside.
To destroy the evil sect, it must be swift and clean without any of them escaping.
Taking out the Qi Sense Compass, she found out there were two Golden Core Experts in the core area.
Apart from the two Golden Core Experts, there were fifteen Core Refining Warriors while the others were Foundation Realm.
While the Frost Moon Sect Master was detecting all the warriors and experts in the caves...
Deep in the wide open space of the core area was a massive cave. Its entrance stone was etched with runes.
Inside the cave, the middle-aged man sat inside a pool of boiling blood with his upper body bare.
A few feet from the blood pool was a mature beautiful woman. She was the Dao companion of the Red Hollow Sect.
"How did the Frost Moon Sect Master detect you?" she asked with a knitted brow.
"How would I know?" the middle-aged man, who was the Sect Master, responded in annoyance.
"I don't know how that bitch found out…" He gnashed his teeth in hatred. "This was the chance for us to push our cultivation higher."
"What are you going to do now? We can't miss this chance. The region is getting barren," she said with a slight frown on her face.
"Nothing." He raised his head and looked at her. "I've been discovered and I can't go out for the time being. But you, on the other hand, can go out."
"But not immediately, let's wait for three to five days for everything to die down before you go out to find out what is really going on."
She nodded. "I'll do as you say. We can't miss this chance."
"Indeed, we can't miss this chance," he responded and closed his eyes. "This is not enough for me to recover my strength. Send in fresh sacrifice."
"Don't worry, we just got some fresh sacrifice. Most of them were still virgins," she said with a sweet smile and left the cave.
Meanwhile, the Frost Moon Sect Master had already left the Red Hollow Sect hiding ground.
She did not fly, afraid her presence would be detected, which might alert the prey.
When she was thousands of meters from their location, she rose to the sky and vanished with dazzling speed impossible for the eyes to see.
…
…
Capital.
A suffocating tension hung in the air as everyone was clamoring for the destruction of the Seven Talisman Trade Hall and the Golden Pavilion.
The Seven Talisman and Golden Pavilion in Wuyu City and Crane City had been shut down.
All the workers have been arrested.
Unlike the capital where there was a Golden Core Expert, the two cities did not have any Golden Core Expert.
Thus, they were easily conquered.
Although the Seven Talisman Trade Hall and the Golden Pavilion were still holding on, they could feel the ever-rising increasing pressure.
Inside the new Golden Pavilion, a middle-aged man rushed to enter the Pavilion Master's office.
"My Lord…" he shouted, his face filled with dread and grief.
The sudden shout jolted the Pavilion Master from his thoughts.
"What happened? Why would you shout like that?" he demanded coldly.
He had been under huge pressure these past days and his emotions had been unstable.
Most especially today.
The Thousand Wealth Chamber was more terrifying than he imagined. They managed to get the people's support while also deploying various means.
All his pavilion workers that were outside had all mysteriously disappeared. Even his protector warned him not to leave the building.
Under such stress, he would not hesitate to kill anyone who disturbed him.
Watching his master's annoyance, the assistant bowed deeply.
"My Lord, I'm sorry for barging in and shouting like a fool, but the situation demands it."
His voice filled with nervousness and fear.
"What situation? Can it be any worse than this?" he asked, creasing his brow.
"M-My Lord… all the clans and families working for us have all been killed. None were spared."
