Chapter 45: Inosuke: I Don't Believe I Can't Hit You!
Without waiting for any explanation from those around him, Inosuke charged forward, his arms and legs spread wide in an aggressive stance.
Sanemi Shinazugawa watched the scene unfold with interest. Although he wasn't familiar with Inosuke, this seemed like a good opportunity to test Ren's strength.
Kocho Shinobu also observed the situation with keen interest. When Kanzaki Aoi tried to intervene, she gently pulled her back.
"Master Shinobu, Inosuke doesn't know Mr. Ren! He might hurt him!" Kanzaki Aoi protested anxiously.
Shinobu smiled faintly. "Shh~ Don't worry. Ren will be fine."
Although reassured by Shinobu's words, Kanzaki Aoi couldn't help but glance worriedly toward the two combatants.
The sound of punches, swift movements, and heavy impacts filled the air as Ren and Inosuke exchanged blows. Inosuke was surprised—Ren was incredibly weak in physical combat, almost laughably so.
Still, Inosuke didn't let his confusion distract him. Determined to win, he launched another fierce attack. Ren calmly dodged to the side, carefully observing Inosuke's movements.
This guy... Ren thought. His attacks are wild but precise, almost like fighting a four-legged beast.
After both retreated to create distance, Inosuke grinned widely, his chest puffed out.
"Hey! I'm strong, right? Admit it—I'm strong!" he boasted, his excitement spilling into a bizarre show of flexibility. Bending backward, he looped his head between his legs, showcasing his joint flexibility.
"How about that? My joints are more flexible than you can imagine!" he crowed.
Ren replied with a simple, unimpressed "Oh." To him, Inosuke's movements resembled a wild boar clumsily climbing a tree.
As Inosuke finished his performance and charged forward again, Ren's perspective shifted. Time slowed around him—bees hovered motionlessly, butterflies froze mid-flight, and Inosuke's movements appeared split into frames.
[You observed a wild boar's running style and found it amusing.]
[You imitated its muscle dynamics, improving your understanding of tendon usage.]
[You analyzed its joint movement frequency and enhanced your control over body movements.]
[You conceptualized and created a high-flexibility movement technique combining Ghost Footwork and Butterfly Footwork: Unpredictable steps!]
A flood of inspiration surged through Ren. His movements transformed, becoming fluid and unpredictable.
Inosuke unleashed dozens of punches toward Ren's lower body. However, Ren's newfound agility allowed him to dodge every single one effortlessly. Inosuke was horrified—his opponent was adapting too quickly!
Frustrated, Inosuke screamed, "Are you mocking me? Fight back!"
Ren, having fully grasped Inosuke's patterns, responded with a sudden kick that caught Inosuke off guard.
"How...?" Inosuke muttered in shock. He had been on guard, so how did Ren land that kick? Then he noticed something strange—Ren's leg had extended at an unnatural angle.
Ren had dislocated his joints mid-fight to achieve a longer reach, utilizing his body's flexibility in ways that defied expectation.
The onlookers were stunned. Kanzaki Aoi covered her mouth in disbelief, while Shinobu raised her eyebrows, intrigued. Even Sanemi found himself deep in thought.
At first, his movements were clumsy and unpolished, Sanemi realized. But in the span of a single fight, he's adapted to his opponent and developed countermeasures. His ability to learn and analyze in real-time is remarkable... comparable to Himejima's talent.
Inosuke stood frozen, contemplating his next move. His opponent's fluid, unpredictable movements reminded him of a giant wasp—a creature impossible to hit. He had been reckless and received two humiliating blows in return.
"Damn it, Ren! How dare you make me use my brain! I'm so angry!" he yelled, charging forward once more.
But by now, Ren had completely analyzed Inosuke's style. In just a few exchanges, he effortlessly avoided every attack and landed another solid kick, sending Inosuke sprawling.
With a loud thump, Inosuke hit the ground, his boar mask falling off.
