Chapter 24: The Triskelion Under Siege & Call to Arms

The news broadcasts blared, painting a chaotic picture that Adam recognized instantly. Maria Hill, grim-faced, announced the public unraveling of SHIELD. The headlines screamed about a terror attack on Nick Fury, the exposure of classified data, and the launch of three Helicarriers over Washington D.C. The Captain America: Winter Soldier plot had officially begun.

Adam watched Fury's staged death, knowing the man was very much alive and plotting. He saw Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff on the run, labeled as fugitives. And he knew, with a sickening certainty, that the clock was ticking down to Project Insight's activation.

This was it. The absolute last window.

He activated the full Guild assembly, sending an immediate alert to every active member. Their avatars, a mix of grim-faced determination and anxious anticipation, appeared in the virtual meeting room. Wanda and Pietro, still a little shaken but resolute, were there. Yelena, cool and collected. Darcy, already furiously typing. Erik Selvig, looking surprisingly clear-headed. Jeremy, his face a mask of worry. And 'Ghost', a nondescript, shadowy figure in the corner.

"Alright, people," Adam began, his voice cutting through the tension. "The world thinks SHIELD is collapsing. They're wrong. SHIELD isn't collapsing; it's revealing itself. Not as the protector we thought, but as a deep-seated enemy. Hydra has been living inside it like a parasite for decades."

He brought up the data from 'Ghost's' mission, overlaying it with Erik Selvig's analysis and Jeremy's internal reports. "Worldwide Acquisitions LLC isn't just a shell corporation; it's their financial backbone. These people"—he highlighted names on the screen, revealing high-ranking SHIELD officials, senators, even a few World Security Council members—"they're Hydra. They're the ones behind the Triskelion construction, the ones pushing Project Insight."

"Project Insight isn't about protecting the world from threats," Adam continued, his voice hardening. "It's about controlling it. The three Helicarriers launched over D.C. are not defensive weapons. They are assassination platforms. Their targeting computers, powered by the Mind Stone technology Wanda and Pietro found in Sokovia, are programmed to eliminate anyone deemed a 'threat' to Hydra's new world order. Which means, anyone who disagrees with them. Millions of people. Instantly."

A collective gasp went through the virtual room. Darcy swore under her breath. Jeremy looked like he was going to be sick.

"Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon are fighting this, but they're on the run. They don't have the full picture. They don't know who to trust," Adam explained. "We do. We have the intel. We have the Guild. And we are the only ones who can stop this."

"So, what's the plan, boss?" Darcy asked, her fingers hovering over her keyboard, ready for action.

"The plan is to hit them hard, everywhere at once," Adam declared. "The Helicarriers, the Triskelion, their command structure. We cripple them, expose them, and save millions of lives."

He looked at each of them. "This isn't a training exercise. This isn't just recon. This is a war. And we are the last line of defense. Are you with me?"

The answers came in a chorus of determined voices: "Always, Adam," from Wanda. "Let's do it," from Pietro. "Born ready," from Yelena. "For the greater good," from Erik Selvig. "Hell yeah," from Darcy. "Ready for orders," from Jeremy. Even 'Ghost' sent a single, affirming nod.

Adam felt a surge of pride and grim resolve. He wasn't alone. He had built a family, a true Guild, ready to face down a global conspiracy. The stage was set. The final act of Phase One: Hydra was about to begin.
