Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 137: A Couple Pale Stalkers

That was what Stella wanted to say, yet, like usual, she just wasn't able to voice her grievances. It was really frustrating.

"Ahh, would you look at the time…?" Cassius suddenly said, sweat beads raining down his face, his heart full of guilt. "I have to go walk the goldfish!—I mean walk the go… walk myself down the roads of this go~reat town and head to work. As it's my final day, I should really settle everything. Yes, yes, I really must do this. I'll see you both in a few hours! Talk then!"

After looking away from his invisible watch, Cassius hurried out the door.

"Jerk," Stella grumbled.

"Agreed," said Sasha, her cheeks filled with air. She swayed her charming hips and buttocks before finishing up breakfast. Though, since it was just her and the similarly minded Stella eating, she had to pack the rest for the others. Fortunately, with several large fancy fridges and freezers in the house, there was plenty of room to store the leftovers.

—Meanwhile, just outside a giant mansion surrounded by several other mansions—

On his way out, Cassius completely forgot to drop off his clingy dragon, which led to him throwing her over his shoulders.

His path to work naturally caused many people to point and stare, as although they couldn't make out all of his appearance, they could tell that he was tall and handsome. Add that to the silver-haired beauty happily swinging her legs while sitting on him, and they surmised this man to be the—

—Mysterious Bookstore Model—the one said to be more handsome than even the most popular K-pop idols!

While everyone was whispering about him, Cassius was thinking about something else. 'As today is also the last day of my Daily Quests, I wonder if I'll receive anything decent? Maybe the System will be generous this time around…'

He probably jinxed it, but oh well. A man could only hope.

During his entire walk toward Bookworm's Paradise, Cassius failed to notice the starry-eyed girl hiding behind a couple of collapsed brick walls. She was the one to destroy them, and did so in broad daylight, yet not a single passerby so much as looked in her direction. As a Duke Vampire Descendant, her powers were simply unfathomable…

With an ominous black aura seeping from her pores, Bella mumbled so quickly that her words came out in an insane sputtering. The longer she stood there and mumbled, the more her aura grew out of control. And although nobody could even see her right now, that didn't mean they couldn't feel their spines tingling. Even a newborn baby in a stroller began to cry when Bella's pupils fully darkened and transformed into bottomless purple abysses.

'I just want to love you…!! Why won't you let me love you!??'

WHOOOSH!

Her surging emotions caused an unusual phenomenon to emerge in the area. Esoteric miasmic energies shot out and spun around with one another before fusing and creating a violent vortex of vampyric energy. To others, however, it looked like a twister suddenly materialized in the middle of the street.

"How in the hell could there be a twister out here!? What the sh*t is going on??" Experience new stories on empire

"Who gives a f*ck, dude! Just run!"

Those in the vicinity, mostly unawakened, ran for the hills as soon as the twister appeared. This quick and decisive action on their part led to no casualties. And by the time the evil twister dispersed, there were only three people still present in the surroundings. One was the deranged black-haired girl, and the other two were a pair of pale-faced people in suits. One was a woman, whereas the other was a man. They were both exceptionally beautiful, but they held an eternal touch of disdain on their expressions, which lessened their aesthetics quite a bit.

"The young miss is at it again," said the man. His eyes zoomed past the crazed Bella and landed on the distant figure of Cassius. The man's face twisted in disdain as he said, in a scornful tone, "I just can't fathom why someone as distinguished as the young miss became like this all because of a measly human. Tsk!"

"Calm yourself, Leon," the woman lectured. "The young miss's personal life is not something neither you nor I can interfere in. We are simply here to protect her. That is all."

Despite the woman's words, it wasn't like she viewed the human in any better light than her male counterpart. In her mind and in the minds of most vampires, humans were just dirty, pitiful creatures, none of them deserving to be viewed as anything more than livestock. And they weren't the only race to view humans like this, as almost every race thought along the same lines. Even their arch nemesis, the werewolves, could agree with them on this.

Hell, even aliens saw humans as livestock and test subjects!

"Do we really have to keep allowing that human to continue on living??" the pale man asked, his voice coming out in a low growl. He bared his sharp pearly white fangs, and his brown pupils turned a dark shade of red. "Can we not just turn him into a husk and save our princess from being tarnished any further by his presence???"

The beautiful pale woman hesitated slightly, yet let out a sigh in the end. "...Just hold in your frustrations, Leon. I am aware of your past of pursuing the young miss, but you must learn when to give it up. Even the Lord has said not to mess with that human unless his daughter willed it. And even then, he seemed nervous while saying that… It's better… It's better if you just forget about your passion and move on."

Leon ground his teeth while painfully watching the woman he fancied crazily obsess over another man. For more than a dozen years, he had been forced to endure the nonsensical reality that was the dynamic before him. It was insufferable! That human angered him to no end!

'What does the young miss even see in that blood bag anyway!?' Leon thought, his expression livid. 'Although he doesn't look that bad now, up until a couple months ago, he looked even more hideous than the Goblins from the Monster Realm! What could the young miss possibly see in this inferior worm!??'
