Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 138: Only a Thousand Deaths instead of a Million

The more Leon mulled over it, the angrier he became. His pretty face became not so pretty. Gina, the pale woman, saw this and shook her head.

'He'll never learn, will he?' she thought. 'I just hope he doesn't lose his mind and cause any trouble that could backfire on me.'

She decided she would lecture her junior by more than a hundred years when they returned to Nightingale for the day. Though, knowing him, she believed it to be very likely that he'd disregard her advice and act recklessly. This would be bad… Read exclusive adventures at empire

"Ka! Those b*tches!" Bella screamed to herself while sneaking a few hundred meters behind her husband. "And I can't believe that my cheater of a husband has been stowing away all of these vixens until now! Does he not love me anymore!? How does he think this makes me feel!?"

Although no one could hear her yelling out her grievances, they could feel the hair-tingling aura from miles away. As if based on instinct, everyone steered away from the block that the country-toppling beauty was venting on. They scampered away while sweating bullets, with black streaks clouding their faces. The only ones gutsy enough to stick around were Leon and Gina, Bella's personal guards—protection she had no clue about.

Suddenly, Bella burst out laughing, her voice creepily peeling back the edges of her pale-faced guards' ears. "Guhehe… I'll just kill them…!! Yes, the solution was so simple! Why have I not thought of it until now!?"

She definitely has.

"If I kill all of the b*tches, then my husband will be mine and mine alone!! When his birthday happens in two days, I'll lock him up inside a basement and then allow no one to enter…!! Any other whores won't even receive the chance to seduce my hubby!! Guhehe…! All mine! ALL MINE!!!"

Bella's maniacal voice rang through the neighborhood as she faded from view. Although she couldn't kill, slaughter, gut, and then kill again those thieving b*tches until she commenced the Vampire Marital Ritual, she would undoubtedly kill them! They would all die! Every single one of them!!

Cassius sneezed, then wiped his nose in confusion. "What is this chill I'm feeling? Do I have a cold or something?"

That should've been an impossibility with his high stats, but he should know better than to believe something to be impossible. Just two and a half months ago, if someone told him that he would be capable of leveling entire cities and regions with ease, he would have told them they were nuts. But now look at him. He was like a Deity on Land.

A bit of conceit nearly formed inside his heart, then he recalled those ridiculously powerful presences laying in wait within HELL. They were the 72nd, 71st, and 70th Demon Kings, all of which resided on the 1st Floor of HELL. And every one of them could extinguish his life a thousand times over before he even knew what happened, this still being the case with all his current strength.

Over the past month, Cassius had become an entirely different person, with his power being countless times greater than before. However, what difference did all of that make in the face of those terrifying and ancient entities?

He was lacking.

'Well, at least I'll only die a thousand times over now instead of millions of times,' Cassius consoled himself while stepping foot into a store that smelled of earth. 'It's good to know that books still give the same solace now as they did before.'

With a small smile gracing his chiseled features, he looked off to the side and saw the similarly smiling Bella. She stood behind the front desk, wearing a greenish-brown work uniform, seemingly acting like she had been there the entire time. Cassius's brows creased in slight puzzlement, as he felt something to be a bit off.

After a brief pause, he shook his head and refocused his gaze on the charming miss Bella. "You are looking lovely as always. Do you happen to know where the Boss is? I wanted to discuss with him about this being my last day working here."

"The Boss?" Bella repeated, while thinking, 'I killed the original one after he harassed me a while back, but with one of my servants disguised as the clone of him, sure, I'll let you see the 'Boss.''

Her eyes creased upward as she modestly giggled. "I'll go and get the Boss right away; he just so happens to be here today. Oh, and your final day, which also just so happens to be my final day, shall be shorter. The Boss mentioned something about closing shop early today, which is just such a silly coincidence."

"Oh… Okay…" Cassius, not knowing precisely what she was hinting at, just nodded and awkwardly smiled.

When Bella brought out a larger and rounder man with a weird toupee on, Cassius got to chatting right away. He was also not focused enough to notice the sweat rolling down the Boss's face as he secretly glanced at the shadow-faced girl standing off to the side.

'Why did Leon and Gina get assigned to something so distant when I had to do something where I have to get up close and personal?? This is bullsh*t!'

The Boss let out his grievances within his mind while keeping up a friendly and professional facade on the outside. However, after the discussion concluded and he returned to the back rooms, he went back to sweating his balls off and complaining non-stop. He was also incoherently recounting everything he said to the human, scared that he might've said something that didn't please his temperamental young miss.

As someone who had seen multiple iterations of 'Bosses,' this vampire in disguise knew very well how little of a thing one could do wrong to get axed by the young miss when it pertained to Cassius.

And by 'axed,' it was implied literally; you would get your head chopped off by an ax, with your subsequent revival halted until the young miss was in a good enough mood to permit it…
