Chapter 139: Outing with Bella
To many in Bella's Duke Vampire household, Bella was known as the 'Tyrant.' And for good reason, as any who crossed paths with her, even the heirs of other Noble Vampire households, all ended up with terrible fates. Whether within her own household or outside it, none of it mattered to her. She would destroy the lives of anyone who messed with her, and that was even more the case if it involved her 'husband.'
Bella was already someone many looked down on for claiming a mere human worm to be her husband, but when she strutted around with her marriage to him practically plastered on her smug face, nearly all of Nightingale felt ticked off. Even the older generation vampires were no exception.
Yet, even with so much opposition to her supposed marriage, Bella cared not the least bit. In fact, she cared so little about what they thought that she asked for a special, basically permanent tattoo of her being railed by someone who had Cassius's general appearance. Most of the naughty bits were covered up, of course, as she couldn't show off her nude body to anyone other than her husband, but the intent was there. And that same intent annoyed the hell out of an innumerable number of young masters living in Nightingale.
The situation became even worse when all of the young masters saw the spiritual tattoo magically move from Bella's shoulder to the nape of her neck. She had it like that all the time while visiting Nightingale, and this enraged countless powerful vampires, all of whom wanted to tear the human in the tattoo piece by piece. On the other hand, when she was assuming her earthling identity, she had the revealing tattoo situated at her pelvis area, which she sensually touched on a daily basis.
All in all, Bella was… batsh*t crazy!
Although her immense love was undeniable… She was just missing too many screws to pursue her love in an ordinary manner. Crazy was all she could manage.
She was also very good at hiding her extreme case of the crazies. Today, just like all the other days she 'coincidentally' worked the same shift as her love, she acted completely normal and did her job in a way befitting a professional.
And just like that, Bella's and Cassius's half shift of four hours came to a swift end. With that, neither of them would ever be working at Bookworm's Paradise again.
After bidding farewell to the 'Boss' and thanking him for the opportunity, Cassius exited the bookstore without his uniform, as he made sure to bring a spare pair of dress clothes to change into. Right beside him, having done something similar to him, was the seemingly indifferent Bella. He curtly nodded at her before spinning on his heel and making his way home.
However, after a few seconds, Cassius realized that he had a quiet stalker following his every step. He stopped and sighed. Turning around, he asked the not-so-smooth whistling girl, "I assume you want to go to the usual?"
Bella's sparkly eyes immediately brightened as she stole his gaze. "You mean the cat cafe on Dojo Street!?"
"Mhmm."
"Hell yeah I wanna go with you— Err, I mean, it's whatever. I'll entertain you if you're begging me like that!"
"Sure…"
Bella's top-tier acting skills always slipped up at times like this, yet Cassius found it quite funny and a bit cute. She seemed so rigid most of the time, like she was living a lie of a life, so times where she let her true feelings shine through were refreshing to see.
As for how they ended up going out and doing stuff together, it all started with the topic of cats. One thing led to another, and they ended up going to a famous cat cafe in Hoshito. The exact one they were sitting at today…
"Hihi~! Jump, kitty! Cute kitties~"
'Well, she seems to be having fun,' Cassius thought with a small smile. A lazy black cat hung off the top of his head, occasionally playing with his locks of black hair. This cat was the same one that came to him the last few times, and it was also the only one…
A few types of animals just didn't seem to like him much anymore after he assimilated with so many bloodlines. Cats just so happened to be one of them.
Bella glanced over from the horde of cats dogpiling her. Those sparkling eyes of hers flashed with a bit of jealousy when she saw how close the black cat was with her man. She knew very well how irrational her jealousy was, but that didn't mean she could just stop feeling it. Especially when the cat in question was smugly 'looking' at her like that.
Cassius secretly realized what he assumed was going through Bella's head as she had reacted like this the last few times as well. 'How silly. Ha…' he inwardly smiled before diverting his attention to his inner mind space. 'Both my Basic Attack and Defend Technique Manuals are about to break through to the 5th Layer.'
He would probably only need a couple more days to officially advance them to the 5th Layer, and by then, a total of 15 Layers would have been achieved. That would mark a major milestone, possibly one that could show him some of this 'Path to Immortality.'
As the seconds turned into minutes, Bella began to look more and more like a cat herself. While staring daggers at the black cat lounging on Cassius's head, feisty mumbling stringed from her cherry red lips. She and the black cat were never destined to get along with one another. Never ever, ever!

When the two-hour time they had was up, Cassius got up and pulled away the girl that seemed ready to get into a violent cat fight with an actual cat. He wasn't sure why she was so jealous of a cat, but after profusely apologizing to the staff for her behavior, he hastily left the cafe.
Bella, acting like nothing had even happened, giddily told the staff that they would be back. After which, she glared at the 'smug' black cat and haughtily left.
Who was the one leaving with Cassius?? It was her—Bella Crestmore! Not some feline!
This was a win for the OG's!
