Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 483: Taking A Bounty

"So this… young lord is the one who wants a meeting with me…?" Shao Yao, the Head of the Monster Chasers Family, only now got a good look at Necro.

'He is…'

Shao Yao was at a loss for words at the sight of his appearance.

Like an arrow through the heart, she stiffened up. Her voluptuous body jolted as her lips reflexively curled inward under the coercion of her teeth.

In simple terms, she was smitten at first sight.

Not many in River Mountain City's high society knew of this, but Shao Yao—the current head of the prestigious Monster Chasers Family—had a very… questionable taste.

A shota lover.

That was what she was.

And Necro, possibly the ultimate shota, was right up her alley. She was hovering over him like a star-struck woman within the second.

"What's your name, love~?" Shao Yao asked as her eyes glazed over. "This Big Sister will give you anything you want—just say the word~"

'Hmm…? Well, this is going far easier than I thought it would…'

Once again, Necro was amazed by the power of a lethal face card.

However, before he could gratefully accept the kind lady's obviously 'innocent' offer, Su Yu interjected, saying:

"Stay back, bimbo!" She stretched out her arms while standing in front of Necro. "He's m.i.n.e. Go find your own!"

"Ho?" Shao Yao smirked suggestively. "Yours, huh? Who would've thought the 6th Young Lady of the noble Blue Legion Family could be so bold when it comes to matters of the heart~"

"...Matters of the heart…?" Su Yu slanted her head, puzzled. "What do you me-..." Her ears suddenly reddened in realization. "N-No, that's not what I'm talking about! M… Me and that jerk!? He wishes!"

Necro was not the least bit affected by her words.

But for some reason, this further frustrated the 6th Young Lady…

"You could at least act a little angry or disappointed, you dummy!" Su Yu pouted. "You're just so… argh!"

Necro's head angled in curiosity. "I'm not following. Are you saying you'd like me to fake something?"

Watching the 6th Young Lady's face turn into that of a hangry gerbil, Shao Yao figured out what was going on here.

"So you're just friends?" She raised her voice, attracting the attention of them both. "That works well, then. Young Lord Necro, would you like to be my 'friend' as well~?"

She licked her lips seductively, making Su Yu's displeased expression even more prominent.

"I told you to not even think about it, bimbo Shao!" said Su Yu as she clung to Necro's arm, shooting daggers out of her eyes.

"Fine, fine," Shao Yao giggled. "Your reactions are usually so boring whenever you pass through here. However, now that this sweety is here, you're so much more entertaining, fufu~"

"Grrrr…"

"Anywho, there's something you want from me, isn't there?" Shao Yao whistled mischievously while directing a question toward Necro. "I assume that's why you requested a meeting."

Necro nodded. "Your assumptions are correct, Miss Shao Yao."

"Please, you can just call me Big Sister Shao. No need for formalities between us~"

"Shameless old hag!" Su Yu bared her fangs, defensively protecting Necro. "Just call this grandma granny instead, Necro."

A vein bulged on Shao Yao's smooth forehead.

However, no matter how vexed she was, she couldn't show it. After all, Su Yu was one of the most talented heirs of the Blue Legion Household. The only reason Shao Yao wasn't bowing right now was because there were rumors that Su Yu—despite her talent—wasn't very well-liked by her family.

"...So, little love, what sort of business do you have with me?" Shao Yao looked past Su Yu, focusing on Necro.

Necro's expression turned serious as he replied, "I'd like a job."

Silence…

Even Su Yu was confused.

A job?

Did he think the Monster Chasers Family was some sort of employer??

"Haha, you're a funny one, little love~" Shao Yao giggled. "Normally, I'd never even consider those sorts of words, even if they were spoken by a cutie like you. However, that look in your eyes… I like it. I like it a lot."

"...So I can have a job?"

"Most definitely!" Shao Yao snuck past Su Yu, pulling Necro between her large, squishy breasts. "When would you like to start working? I can set you up with a veteran Monster Hunter party within the week if you want—"

"No need," Necro interjected. "As long as you point me in the right direction, I can go and handle everything myself."

"Handle everything yourself…?" Shao Yao repeated rather slowly as she stared down into her bosom crevice, only to meet the same focused gaze from before. "You know what, I'll let you do what you want, fufu~!"

"Hey, you better not send my Necro anywhere dangerous!" Su Yu grabbed him and yanked him out of Shao Yao's breasts, sending a fierce glare in the bimbo's direction. "And I'll be coming with. Wherever Necro goes, I go too!"

"'Your' Necro~?" Shao Yao grinned, embarrassing Su Yu. "I thought you two were just friends? Was I mistaken?"

"N-No, it's just that… that…" Su Yu became really flustered, and in her uncertainty, she furtively glanced at Necro.

"Hmm?" Question marks formed above Necro's head. "Is something the matter?"

"I-It's nothing…!"

Meanwhile, Shao Yao was having the time of her life in the background. Her interest in the apathetic young boy was also growing. She was very keen in figuring out if he had what it took to solo hunt the exotic monsters their family specialized in—or if he was just boasting in order to uselessly show off.

'I don't know why, but I feel as if the first option is closer to the truth.'

The more Shao Yao thought about it, the wider her grin became.

"Little cutie," she said, interrupting the banter of the two youngsters, "would you like to see the currently available Monster Bounties right now?"

Necro looked at the mature beauty, giving an acute nod as a response.

"Fufu~, I really do hope you possess that same decisiveness when your life and death are hanging in the balance." Shao Yao waved her hand, causing dozens of parchment papers to appear from thin air, each having different fearsome monster illustrations on them. "Since you're only in the Body Refinement Realm, I suggest that you pick from these 11—"

"This one," said Necro, pointing at the one with the scariest monster illustration on it. "I'll take it."

"!!!"

Shao Yao was shocked by his choice.

"Hunting a Three-tailed Moon Serpent," she summarized the contents of the bounty. "Listen, little cutie, I admire your courage, but this is too much. A 10th Layer Qi Condensation Realm monster like that would even give me a little trouble in the disadvantageous area it's located."

"How about you take a moment to carefully reconsider? Because, even with the presence of the 6th Young Lady and her Wyvern, facing a Three-tailed Moon Serpent would be… suicide…"

Necro stared at the beautiful Shao Yao with unshaken bearings. "Please, if you would, could I accept the bounty?"

"...You… Haiz…" Shao Yao felt it a great shame for such a cutie to be so baselessly arrogant. "If it's about the reward of 100 low-grade spirit stones, I can promise you the same amount if you'd agree to join the Monster Chasers Family as my disciple."

Necro could sense her generosity, but that wasn't the path he wanted to walk in this life.

"I appreciate the offer, Big Sister Shao, but this small Blue Ring Region won't be able to contain me for long," he said earnestly. "I just need some resources to speed up my cultivation, and to obtain them, I'll use my own hands."

Su Yu froze at his words.

Shao Yao, on the other hand, would be lying if she said she wasn't disappointed by his answer.

"To reject me like this, you're the first," she sighed. "And the fact that I can't tell if you're arrogant or simply confident throws me for a loop. Makes me want to keep and pamper you even more."

Necro wasn't bothered. He matched her gaze with an equal amount of intensity, then with a placid voice, said, "You're very kind, Big Sister Shao. But I've already made my final decision."

Shao Yao briefly paused, before replying, "Very well, this is yours."

She used her divine sense to float the parchment paper for the Three-tailed Moon Serpent bounty over to Necro. She then briefly explained which direction he should head in and what to be careful of. After which, she watched him and the pouty Su Yu leave the Monster Chasers Family Estate.

A pair of curious eyes showed themselves next to Shao Yao, followed by the appearance of an adorable girl around 10 years of age.

"Momma, who was that next to big sister Su?" she asked innocently.

"I'm not really sure." Shao Yao made a complicated expression. "I only know his name. Other than that, I can't see through him."

"Hurm…?" The little girl, Lian Yu'er, put more focus on the receding back of the boy with unusually-colored hair. "Mother… He's so pretty…"

Shao Yao giggled. "He is, isn't he?"

"You were gonna eat him, weren't you, Momma?" Lian Yu'er suspiciously eyed her mother.

Shao Yao ruffled her daughter's hair. "Do you believe those rumors about your mother as well, you unscrupulous girl?"

"Are they a lie?" Lian Yu'er asked while swatting at her mother's hand.

"Well…" Shao Yao thought about it. "Wait, no, they're totally wrong! Sure, adorable little boys are fun to tease, but I'd never do anything inappropriate to them!"

"Momma… is a pervert."

Lian Yu'er ran off after saying that, lest she receive the full force of her mother's wrath. While fleeing, her mind retraced back to that expressionless young boy, her innocent curiosity manifesting in the form of a girly grin.

Shao Yao sighed. "That girl… Haiz… What am I to do with her…?"
