Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 491: Azure Dragon Ridge Region

"The North is forbidden," said the Old Shaman woman, the tapping of her cane becoming louder and more ferocious. "That lass deserved death. You deserve death."

"Is this your final decision…?" Lang Qingyue asked as her breath cooled.

The summoning of a massive giant of ice and snow was all the confirmation Lang needed. She flashed forward as a sharpened blur, drawing a line of ice through the already frozen-over ground.

SHING!

With an attack that no one below the Foundation Establishment Realm could possibly register, both the ice golem and the Old Shaman woman were sliced horizontally. Lang Qingyue crisply sheathed her sword behind them, not even bothering to look back and watch them slide off into multiple pieces.

"Then this means war."

Lang Qingyue, Bai Ning, the Necrotic Valkyries, and the rest of the Shadow Army would no longer endure the abuse of the Shamans. If they wanted to skip past peaceful negotiations and go straight to the onslaught, then so be it.

In the days that followed Lang Qingyue's execution of one of the Shaman Elders, she—along with all of Necro's forces—slaughtered every Shaman they saw. Whole tribes turned into ghost towns overnight.

Thanks to the constant supply of superior |Power Essence|, Lang Qingyue and the others never tired and always returned stronger than before. Lang and Bai Ning had even broken through to the Foundation Establishment Realm, making them geniuses of a very high caliber. Their staggering cultivation levels also made conquering the Shaman Tribes of the North barely a challenge.

The Shaman Ancestors of the Foundation Establishment Realm weren't even good enough for Lang and Bai to attack more than once.

After some weeks, tens of thousands of Shamans had fallen to the Shadow Army. Complete annihilation.

After laying conquest to the Shaman Tribes, Lang Qingyue and the Shadow Army moved further along the coastline under Necro's instructions. At some point, they left the scope of the Great Forest of Jagga, entering a large part of the Blue Ring Region called the |Great Northern Magnetic Field|.

The whole area was encompassed by a gravitational force, steering away most outsiders. However, of the natives—of which there were countless—all of them had become ridiculously powerful under the tempering of higher gravity levels.

This was the next location of conquest.

As for justification of this conquest? Well, it really wasn't necessary in such a dog-eat-dog world. But given how aggressive the natives of the Great Northern Magnetic Field were, fighting back was only fair game.

While the Shadow Army made a name for itself in a higher-level area possessing countless Foundation Establishment Realm monsters and indigenous people, Necro had gone East. The Extreme East. Past the Great Forest of Jagga. Even past the Blue Ring Region.

Azure Dragon Ridge Region.

This vast expanse of mountains and plateaus was shaped in the form of a dragon and was even three-dimensionally situated. If one were looking far enough, they might even believe that an actual ancient dragon of myth walked the lands.

On one of the countless plateaus that made up the Azure Dragon Ridge Region, Necro fished with a calmness about him. The atmosphere was very tranquil, and though he looked like a young boy, there was an ageness to him that was hard to mistake.

"I'm running low on Spirit Stones again," said Necro, horsetail in mouth and fishing rod in hand. "Breaking through to the Qi Condensation Realm and creating my Red Lotus really drained my pockets dry."

Weeks had passed since his departure from River Mountain City. And though the complete lighting up of the Orange Lotus seemed close back then, it turned out to be a lot further than expected.

Regardless, the Orange Lotus of the Divine Lotus Tempering Sutra had been completed. Next up was the Red Lotus, which only had a single petal lit up on it.

"I'm in the 5th Layer of Qi Condensation, and will reach the 12th Layer soon enough," Necro mused as he cast his line again. "However, just like with the Orange Lotus, I'll be restarting my cultivation every time I reach the peak."

It was a tiring and saddening process, but as he was now, even the Peak Foundation Establishment Realm Monster Kings that roamed the plateaus weren't his match. He effortlessly solidified his position as the Overlord of Green Moon Plateau.

The only thing he lacked was the actual Title…

"Scakaaa—!"

A shrill shriek cut through the skies. It belonged to a massive lizard-headed bird flapping its thousand-meter-wide wings across the plateau, flying somewhere north.

"Another territorial dispute?" Necro sighed, as this had been happening a lot of late. "Can't these monsters ever just learn to get along with one another?"

The monsters that could enter the Foundation Establishment Realm were termed Monster Kings in Azure Dragon Ridge. These monsters, although a bit powerful, were far too arrogant in Necro's opinion.

Often, they could be seen leaving their territories and attacking any other Monster Kings in the surrounding plateaus and mountain ranges. The winners of these territorial disputes naturally kept their lives, but they also received the territories of the defeated Monster Kings—as well as their strength.

"Well, whatever." Necro returned his focus to his fishing. "As long as they don't bother me, I don't care what they do. More importantly than that, I can feel a bite on the hook. First catch of the day already??"

A bit excited, he gradually guided the prey up like a pro. It was a big one for sure, as evident by how much power had to be used to reel it in.

"Am I going to catch something rare today?? Yesterday was extremely disappointing, and same with the previous days of the week, but this time I'm hopeful. I'm ready to find out what I—"

FWAP!

As soon as the topmost layer of the lake's water broke, Necro's smile was instantly turned upside down. What he thought would be an exotic jeweled fish or something of extreme rarity turned out to be no more than a…

"Monster King."
