Chapter 58: Chapter 57: Dead End White Woz
When Tsukuyomi helped Sougo and Gates return from the grueling Nine-to-Five sessions, Ryuga had already finished our meal—and dazzled quite a few people in the process.
But before they could relax, another unexpected visitor appeared: Mondo Douan, who was apparently looking for his uncle to repair a watch.
"You again?!" Mondo Douan snapped impatiently.
"Who the hell are you?" Gates growled, nearly ready to swing a punch.
"I'm Kamen Rider Quiz, from the year 2020," Mondo Douan replied bluntly. "Someone pulled me here without my consent."
Sougo was taken aback. "Kamen Rider... Quiz?"
He immediately summoned Woz with a dramatic flourish.
"Look—does this guy look like the white Woz you know?"
"Yes! That's him!" Woz confirmed, nodding with certainty.
"So it was White Woz's doing," Sougo muttered. The group exchanged tense glances.
"What exactly are you doing here?" Sougo asked the newcomer.
Mondo Douan fell silent for a moment before replying solemnly, "My name is Mondo Douan. The strange Rider you've been chasing... he's my father."
He continued, voice heavy with emotion: "My mother told me that while he was a brilliant scientist, he never produced any meaningful results. Obsessed with his research, he neglected his family completely. Eventually, exposure to toxic chemicals caused his body to break down. He died shortly afterward."
"So you're here to change history?" Gates asked cautiously.
"Absolutely not." Mondo Douan's firm denial caught them off guard. "What good is changing history? That's what people with weak minds do."
"Nani?!" Gates, who once desperately sought to change the future, looked stunned.
"My mother was bedridden by 2040. She never felt loved by my father. She couldn't move on. I came here just to ask him what he really thought. I'm not here to tamper with time for something as shallow as altering fate."
Since Sougo was acquainted with the family, Mondo Douan was welcomed by his uncle as a friend. Though technically a time-displaced homeless person, he was given a place to stay for the night. After all, it wasn't worth wasting money booking a hotel when they had the Nine-Night Five-Hall.
The next morning, just as Sougo woke up, Woz rushed in with urgent news—a strange Rider had appeared.
Sougo and Gates had to move quickly. Mondo Douan, still recovering from the strain of time travel, remained asleep and didn't join them.
The battle was simple enough: the enemy was another version of Kamen Rider Quiz. Sougo and Gates gained the upper hand easily, but they lacked the true power of Kamen Rider Quiz. Without it, they couldn't defeat the anomaly completely or extract the another Ridewatch.
Just as they considered retreating, Ora appeared.
"Let this continue as training," she said nonchalantly, restarting the another Quiz Ridewatch, reviving the enemy once again.
Sougo frowned. "...Really?"
As he prepared to fight again, White Woz suddenly jumped out.
"My savior! You can't be serious!" he shouted. "I placed Kamen Rider Quiz right beside you yesterday. And you didn't even steal his power?!"
"I'm not interested in playing along with your plans," Gates replied coldly.
"You'd better start listening!" White Woz snapped.
"Hey! Can you not interrupt their training session?" Ora said, visibly annoyed by the escalating argument.
"Hmph. Ora the Time Robber, your presence is unnecessary," White Woz sneered—and punched toward her without hesitation.
Ora, however, didn't flinch. She crossed her arms calmly, watching him approach.
"Little Ora—!" Sougo tried to warn her, but his words froze as he saw a dark energy barrier shimmer into existence in front of her.
White Woz vanished the moment he touched it.
"What the hell?!" Gates stared wide-eyed.
"Oh, according to Ryuga, it's a small black hole," Ora said casually, twirling her hair with a smirk. "Anyone who attacks me gets sucked into it."
"Black hole..." Sougo turned slowly to Gates. "What's the opposite of that?"
"Uhh... the universe?" Gates replied, uncertain. "I mean, who even knows what's opposite of a black hole?"
Ironically, he was correct.
Ryuga had recently made a breakthrough in his time manipulation research. That "black hole" was actually a dimensional gate—and it opened directly into deep space.
Out there, in the freezing void near absolute zero—roughly -270°C—White Woz had been thrown in without protection. No Rider form, no suit. Just him, and the cold silence of the cosmos.
Technically, he could survive 10–90 seconds before his body gave out... but would Ryuga leave even that much of a chance?
Of course not.
He'd already infused time magic into the black hole before sending Ora out. While less than a minute had passed in their world, who knew how long White Woz had been drifting alone in space?
As Ora's black hole dissolved, a second portal formed—this one twinkling with stars. Everyone immediately recognized it.
Ryuga's Stargate.
Wearing pajamas, Ryuga strolled out of the portal, yawned, and casually checked on Ora.
"Oh good, you're fine," he said groggily. "Why are you all up so early?"
Ora skipped over and clung to his arm. "I overslept yesterday. But I'm wide awake now—thinking about how I'm going to tear apart the Demon King!"
Sougo: "..."
"Well, as long as you're happy." Ryuga smiled, ruffled her hair, and then shut his eyes. "Let me see... where's that idiot floating around?"
A moment later, Ryuga reopened a portal.
A frozen, corpse-like White Woz dropped out, landing with a crack on the ground, still covered in cosmic ice.
"Holy—!" Sougo instinctively jumped back from the icy spray.
Ryuga bent down, picked up a few objects still intact from the wreckage, and handed an e-book to Ora.
"Here, play with this. It guides the future."
Then, calling out: "Woz! Come here."
"Your Excellency, I'm here!" Woz quickly responded.
Ryuga tossed him two items: the Woz Beyondriver and the Woz Ridewatch. "These are yours."
As for the third—Shinobi's Ridewatch—it was still linked to Kamen Rider Woz, and would appear during transformation.
Seeing Woz holding his gear with joy, Gates sneered, "Go on, thank him properly—Ryuga, not 'Emperor Qi' this time."
Emperor Qi? That sounds familiar... Gates blinked.
"Thank you, Brother Ryuga!" Woz said sincerely, ignoring the sarcasm. "Since His Majesty the Demon King has accepted me, I shall cling to this thigh with my life!"
Ryuga: "..."
Gates, you said that when you got Yusuke's watch... now you want to drag someone else down with you?
"Alright, that's enough. We're heading back," Ryuga said, teleporting away with Ora.
The another Quiz, having slipped away in the chaos, was gone for now. With nothing more to do, Sougo and the others returned to the Nine-Night Five-Hall.
