Chapter 59: Chapter 58: Another Ryuuga
That afternoon, Sougo and the others once again received news about the appearance of an Another Rider. This time, they were joined by Mondo Douan. Without interference from the meddling White Woz, they managed to defeat the Another Rider using the power of Kamen Rider Quiz.
With his curiosity satisfied, Mondo Douan was in good spirits. He allowed Woz to extract the power of Kamen Rider Quiz and create a Ridewatch for him. Ryuga was then asked to transport Mondo Douan to his original timeline—the year 2040.
Fortunately, since only two days had passed since his arrival, the temporal coordinates on his body were still intact. Had he lingered longer, his presence would have been assimilated by this timeline, making it nearly impossible for Ryuga to send him back accurately.
After the matter with Another Quiz was resolved, an uneventful week followed. With Ora temporarily taking up a side job, the remaining two Time Jackers took a break from stirring trouble. Sougo found himself oddly restless in the downtime.
One afternoon, while having lunch, Sougo approached Ryuga with a concerned look.
"Long Aura, why haven't you created any new Another Riders lately?"
"You're just too strong," Ora teased, smirking. "I'm worried the next one might beat you up!"
"That last one was just a fluke!" Sougo chuckled awkwardly, wiping sweat from his brow.
"Yeah! That's all it was," Gates added, nodding stiffly.
"Is that so?" Ryuga asked with a wicked grin.
"W-What do you mean?" Sougo asked, his confidence waning under Ryuga's knowing smile.
"You'll find out soon enough. Let's just say the next Another Rider is... special. You'd better prepare yourselves."
"Wait, seriously?" Sougo's face turned pale.
"Guess," Ryuga said slyly, patting his shoulder.
Sure enough, later that same afternoon, a powerful new Another Rider appeared. Sougo and Gates rushed to face it—but unlike previous battles, this one didn't go well. Despite their efforts, they could barely scratch it and were ultimately forced to retreat, beaten and bloodied.
And that was just the first fight.
For the next five days, the cycle repeated—one grueling battle after another. Yet no matter what they tried, they failed to defeat this new enemy. Its strength was on another level.
On the sixth day, the two returned once more, bruised and exhausted. Thankfully, their injuries were superficial—but the wear and tear was starting to show.
"Let me guess... It escaped again?" Tsukuyomi asked as she helped them sit down.
"That's the fifth or sixth time this week," she added with concern.
"We have no idea where it comes from or where it vanishes to," Sougo groaned, slumping onto the table.
"We cornered it a few times, but it still got away!" Gates growled in frustration.
"The worst part is its ability," he continued. "It can reflect our attacks. Every hit we land bounces right back. Fighting it is like signing a mutual destruction pact."
He recalled what Ryuga had said earlier: 'You might die this time.'
"We need a new strategy," Sougo muttered.
"And go where? We don't even know its origin," Tsukuyomi pointed out.
"I have a plan," Sougo said, grinning mysteriously.
That afternoon, the dining table was loaded with luxurious food—steaming meats, grilled fish, rich sauces.
Ryuga raised an eyebrow. "What's all this? Someone's birthday?"
"Nope," Sougo said, smiling. "Just our delayed thanks for helping us last time."
"Trying to butter me up now?" Ryuga eyed them suspiciously. "You didn't lace the food with drugs, did you?"
"Of course not!" Sougo said quickly. "I just wanted to ask you something."
"Then just say it," Ryuga replied, relaxing into conversation with Ora. Sougo, Gates, and Tsukuyomi waited silently, not daring to interrupt the meal.
Once Ryuga and Ora finally finished, Sougo leaned in.
"Alright, what do you want to ask?" Ryuga said, popping fruit into his mouth.
"That Another Rider—what is it?" Sougo asked.
"That," Ryuga said with a smirk, "is Another Ryuuga."
"Ryuuga?" Sougo turned to Gates and Tsukuyomi.
"I've only heard of Kamen Rider Ryuki," Gates said, frowning. "Not Ryuuga."
"They're connected," Ryuga explained. "Ryuuga is Ryuki's counterpart from the Mirror World—his dark reflection."
He continued, "And because this Another Rider was created using Ryuuga's essence, defeating it requires the power of Ryuuga. Unfortunately, Ryuuga never had his own Ridewatch, and even if you get Ryuki's, it won't work."
Sougo blinked. "Then what do we do?"
"Call Woz."
"Woz!" Sougo called.
"I'm here, Your Majesty the Demon King," Woz said, appearing dramatically.
"I heard you've been away all week. Did you go retrieve something from the Old Demon King?" Ryuga asked, knowingly.
Woz chuckled awkwardly. "As expected of Lord Ryuga… I wanted it to be a surprise, but yes."
From his coat, he produced a silver Ridewatch. Its aura pulsed with an ominous energy.
"This Ridewatch contains the power of the Demon King of All Eras. With this, you can defeat Another Ryuuga," Woz said, presenting it with reverence.
Sougo's eyes lit up. "That's amazing!"
"Don't get too excited," Ryuga interrupted. "You can't use it yet."
"What? Why not?"
"You'll meet someone soon who will 'spot' you with three moles—er, you'll know when you see him. He'll help you unlock its power."
Ryuga opened the door. "Now stop standing around. Move it, rookie!"
As Sougo left, Ryuga turned to Gates.
"Don't worry. The next Another Rider will be from the future. That's your chance. Go find a man named Shinji Shiroto and retrieve the Ryuki Ridewatch."
"In the original timeline, they skipped this, but we'll use a blank Ridewatch to extract the power—it's simpler."
After dispatching them, Ryuga faced Woz.
"When you get the third Future Rider watch, fuse them and give Gates the Resurrected Timewatch."
"This…" Woz hesitated. He didn't want Gates having power that could rival Sougo.
"Relax. The Old Demon King already knows. Gates is his friend. He won't mind."
"…Very well," Woz said. Still, he intended to seek the Demon King's confirmation.
Sure enough, when Woz visited the Old Demon King, he was granted approval—and told a secret that echoed in his mind even as he returned to the present.
