Chapter 1163: Dragonfire Resistance
The expanding shadow of her hatred manifested as a dark energy, swirling and blending with the natural darkness of the forest. It seemed as though the very air resonated with Elisabetha's turbulent emotions. Rain could feel his power increasing, but his ability to think decreased…
"Hey…" Rain said.
"My bad…" Elisabetha said and then calmed down. "Anyway, don't say the kind of thing that would reel me up like that."
"You shouldn't instead let that kind of sentence affect you so much," Rain said as he moved around.
Rain lost a good chance to attack the monster since he didn't want to do it while enraged and with his mind clouded. Still, there was no point in dwelling on that. He began to fly around while using wind magic since getting too close to the water would be the same as asking to be grabbed again by the beast.
The vines came to attack Rain once more from the body of the creature, and while they could expand almost endlessly, they never touched him. Rain zigzagged in the air, went up and down, and managed to avoid them completely.
Eventually, the monster realized that Rain was just too fast for that, so it retracted its body and then began to expand as if it was taking a deep breath. In the next moment, the beast suddenly retracted his body, and then some gas began to leave it.
It was an eerie orange gas that began to seep from its massive form. The gas, thick and ominous, blended with the air in the swamp, creating an otherworldly atmosphere as it expanded.
The orange gas reached him, and a surprising realization struck him. Ignoring the gas's effects, Rain continued to maneuver through the air within his domain, confident in his ability to control the surroundings.
Yet, when the orange gas enveloped Rain's domain, a startling reaction occurred. Instead of being neutralized or dispersed, the gas began to corrode and eat away at the energy of Rain's domain. The vibrant colors of his magical barrier dulled, and a subtle but perceptible increase in mana consumption became obvious.
"This could be a problem…" Rain thought.
It was a poisonous gas that ate away the energy of those affected by it; Rain could see the trees in the swamp withering insanely fast and then eventually falling off thanks to their own weight. That was the kind of power the first dragons definitely had… once again, Elisabetha's hatred began to affect Rain's mind and body once she realized that possibility.
You fulfilled the requirements to unlock a new path.
Wrath's Path, also known as the Path of Unbridled Fury, is a relentless and ferocious combat style that taps into the raw power of wrath. Those who follow this path harness the primal force of their inner anger, transforming it into a devastating and dominating force on the battlefield. All parameter + 200
Level 1: Frenzied Assault - Unleash an unbridled assault fueled by pure rage, increasing physical damage output by 100% and providing a 100% chance to deal critical damage. Higher levels cause ten percent more damage per level at stunned enemies.
"Hey!" Rain shouted.
The shadow immediately disappeared, and Elisabetha calmed down in response to Rain's anger. Saying that she had some anger issues was downplaying the matter quite a bit, all the relics had anger issues when it comes to the dragons. They decided to become objects to eventually have their revenge against them, after all.
"Just let me do my job, and you will have what you want," Rain said and then sighed. "Good grief…"
In the next moment, Rain began to spin the ominous sword around him, and all the orange gas wasn't only pulled by it, but also was absorbed by the sword. That kind of thing couldn't only be possible with the dark scepter but also only in some situations since that skill was something that was created inside the body of the monster.
Rain infused his mana on the sword as well and then charged it with wind magic until it became lightning magic that covered the whole thing. When that happened, the monster soon realized that the danger was coming and tried to smash Rain with its vines, but he blocked all the attacks with ease as lightning bolts flew from the sword and hit and burned the vines.
The vines began to burn down, and the monster was paralyzed thanks to the pain… soon enough, all the energy spread across Rain's body as he decreased the size of his domain. His domain turned into a lightning field around his body, and he could feel his power increasing.
The sky was being illuminated thanks to his presence, and the guards in the city could see that something was happening in the forest.
Without hesitation, Rain charged in toward the monster and passed through it like it was made of paper. The monster grunted and made the entire area tremble in response to its pain, but the beast wasn't gone yet.
In the end, Rain flew around with all his might and cut through the monster dozens of times… the area on the holes began to burn and wither insanely fast… having a body filled with water wasn't good all the time… Eventually, the beast stopped moving completely…
The skill of draconic anatomy reached the maximum level. Strength + 80
You learned the skill Dragonfire Resistance.
Level 10: Dragonfire Resistance - Train to resist and endure the intense heat of dragon flames, reducing fire-based damage inflicted by dragon breath attacks by one thousand points per level.
Rain sighed in relief when the energy dispersed, but the downside of the whole thing came around as well.
The skill Calm Melody lost a level.
The skill Electric Surge lost a level.
The skill Frostbite lost a level.
…
"When are you going to stop that?" Rain asked.
"It is my nature to trade power to obtain power only against dragons," Elisabetha said. "... My apologies for before."
