Chapter 1164: Now die
Rain observed Elisabetha's occasional missteps in the battle with a calm demeanor. He didn't have any anger or frustration towards her for the mistakes made during the fight with the monstrous entity. However, Elisabetha, being well aware of the potential consequences, felt a bit bothered.
Elisabetha knew the danger that came with unlocking the path of a deadly sin, especially wrath. The power associated with such emotions could be intoxicating and corrupting, mirroring the dangerous allure of the dragons.
While Rain's intentions remained noble and focused on protecting others, Elisabetha couldn't shake the concern that the overwhelming power of wrath might lead him down a path without return.
She recognized the importance of Rain maintaining control over his emotions and not succumbing to the corrupting influence of the dragon's power. Elisabetha understood that Rain, as a vessel for the relics, needed to strike a delicate balance between harnessing formidable strength and preserving his integrity.
The consequences of a corrupted Rain wielding such power could be catastrophic, and Elisabetha couldn't afford to underestimate the potential dangers that lurked within the path of a deadly sin.
In any case, Rain approached the body of the monster and realized that the creature was weird in many ways… it was many times weaker than even the giant centipedes they faced on the previous planet. Defeating it had been quite easy, even though Rain didn't try to hold back.
"This should be an early version of the first dragons… the type that was created on a planet even less advanced than Earth and many thousands of years before us," Rain said as he watched the beast turning into dust and dispersing it in the distance.
Before long, a portal appeared on the place where the beast had disappeared, and a golden box was there as well… Rain massaged his eyebrows… even in that situation, the system of that domain was still working.
"What now?" Elisabetha asked.
"I am still going to follow the plan," Rain said. "I just had this idea… if the monster will return, we can turn this place into a training spot. That would explain why I only got twenty levels on the new draconic skill and only ten as well on this system."
"Do you think that the essence of the monster is tied up to this place, and that is why they come back?" Elisabetha asked.
"It could be," Rain said.
On the box, Rain saw a red sword, a pair of curved daggers, and a blue staff. He wanted the staff since it looked cooler, but he had to stick to the plan, so he chose the daggers.

The trait assassin let Rain cause critical damage when attacking enemies from behind, and he quickly maxed its level. In any case, Rain was starting to understand how the system worked a bit better; the next time he obtains a technique, he will have a base of knowledge to test some things.
"Using this with my domain and I am basically invincible against those who don't have powerful magic senses," Rain said. "Anyway, I was planning to bring the body to the city, but I guess the fight was enough to make them understand what had happened."
Rain used Impulse back to the city and soon found some people crossing the gates in order to check what had happened to the forest. They suddenly stopped when Rain appeared in front of them.
"Is there a leader of any of the bands among you? We need to talk about your actions and how they affected my friends," Rain said.
"... Who are you?" A random, heavily armored guard asked without showing much confusion on his face.
"Your acting skills could do some work," Rain said. "You should know the people that you can't capture when they arrive in your city. That kind of information should spread among you all quite fast."
"I am the leader of the band that guards the southern gate," The bear-looking man that Rain met when he arrived said. "I guess there is no point in lying to you now."
"Ah… I guess it makes sense," Rain said. "You were there to knock me down, huh? Well, I don't have many things to say anymore to you, aside from these: unless you want to die, you will tell me how I can wake up my allies, and you will free all of those who arrived in the city in the last few days."
"... That can't be done," The bear man said.
"I see. Time to meet your maker," Rain said.
"Before that, let's talk for a bit," The bear man said. "Since you managed to slay that beast alone, you should be someone that rarely comes to these parts. So, you might be able to change things here before the one controlling the prison realizes that something is off. When this is over, I will offer my head to you as an apology for almost sacrificing your allies."
"Not enough," Rain said. "Any other last words?"
"There is a way to free the city from the hands of the monsters. You will have to kill all the four guardians," The bear man said. "Their lives are tied up together, but it is difficult to kill them all in the span of one hour."
"It is fine; I am not planning on eliminating them forever; they will become my sparring partners," Rain said. "Now die."
