Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 1354: Countering the counter

"When the time comes, I will just teleport them to the location closest to all of them, and then you will fire them." Rain added.

As Rain and his companions prepared to unleash their attack, they found themselves in a world that stood out from the barren landscapes they had crossed earlier. Situated on the edge of the solar system with two suns, this world boasted a slightly more green environment compared to its arid counterparts.

The presence of two suns bathed the landscape in ample sunlight from a good distance, fostering conditions conducive to the growth of vegetation.

Despite the slightly elevated temperatures, the resilient flora of this world thrived, adapting to the heat and flourishing amidst the unique environmental conditions. Lush greenery dotted the landscape, offering a stark contrast to the desolate terrains they had encountered previously.

The vegetation exhibited remarkable resilience thanks to the mana in the world, demonstrating its ability to endure the higher temperatures characteristic of the region.

In any case, while Rain stopped polishing his earth magic skills a while ago, he still used them now and then, and considering his high magic power, he was able to create a five-hundred-meter-long golden meteor in a couple of hours.

It should spread a lot of kinetic energy when it lands in the base where their target should be… still; he wondered how the impacts would affect him since he would be inside…

"Everyone is ready… teleporting those massive things will be a massive pain in the ass, won't it?" Sealyn asked when she approached Rain.

"No, I will keep them in my pocket dimension until the time comes," Rain said.

"Is your pocket dimension that big enough already?" Sealyn asked while blinking in astonishment.

"Yep," Rain said.

Rain used the skill a few times, but Sealyn was still surprised that was the case. Even without the help that Iori was receiving from everyone's mana, it looked like Rain's pocket dimension was as big as his… that spoke of his magical attack and skill. Regardless, Rain soon stored the meteors, and then everyone was called back to Iori's pocket dimension.

"I did the math, and I know the best place to be to fire the meteors," Sakaki said. "I will need to shock your body a bit to obtain control over it in order to make you teleport to the right location."

"I guess we don't have much of a choice," Rain said.

"I will also use your power to send the meteors in the right directions and speeds to reach the targets at the same time, so you don't have to worry about anything else," Sakaki explained. "We will have twenty minutes after that."

"Do it," Rain said.

In the blink of an eye, Rain felt a jolt surge through his body as Sakaki initiated the process of taking control. The sensation was intense, yet brief, as Sakaki swiftly seized command, manipulating Rain's body with precision.

It was a testament to Sakaki's proficiency that he could exert such control in a matter of seconds, leaving Rain feeling slightly unsettled by the extent of his friend's abilities.

As Sakaki swiftly guided Rain's body, positioning him for optimal targeting, Rain couldn't help but be surprised at the efficiency of their coordination. With seamless cooperation, Sakaki utilized Rain's power to direct the meteors toward their intended destinations with pinpoint accuracy after teleporting.

Despite the initial shock of relinquishing control, Rain found reassurance in Sakaki's expertise, trusting in their shared objective… it was a bit scary how good he was at taking control over someone else's body, though.

"Done," Sakaki said. "You can teleport to the interior of the fourth one now."

Before doing that, Rain looked in the distance and saw the meteors flying toward the distance insanely fast. Despite their size, with Rain's current mana pool and Telekinetic abilities, that was easily accomplished… Rain also could see the four planets in the distance. They were relatively close to each other, but now that Rain saw it, he couldn't help but worry a bit.

"It doesn't matter…" Rain thought and then teleported to the interior of the meteor.

As one would expect, the interior was quite dark, but Rain just closed his eyes and waited patiently for the moment to come. He could tell that everyone inside the pocket dimension should have been feeling pretty nervous as well since they couldn't see the outside, but perhaps that tension would help them.

"... This might not be so good," Sakaki said. "I am detecting a high concentration of mana in our destination. It must be a mana cannon."

"Well, it was obvious that they would have one, and they would be able to use it before we landed on their planet," Rain said. "What is the distance?"

"Considering the mana levels of the cannon and the data that we have, if compared to the others, it will be fully charged in five minutes," Sakaki said. "Considering our movement speed, we will have twenty-five seconds, fifteen seconds, and then five seconds to avoid those attacks, respectively."

The enemies will have the chance to attack three times… and it looked like they were planning to only attack that one, where Rain was, since they didn't have other close mana cannons. That was convenient, as it was dangerous since they didn't care that much about the other planets…

At that point in time, it was pretty obvious that their actions would reveal that they only wanted to attack that base… it seemed that Rain's plan was more flawed than expected. However, Rain quickly found a solution to it…

When the mana cannon was fired, it flew for twenty-five seconds before reaching the meteor… it collided against it and made the whole thing explode. However, countless and massive chunks of the whole thing still remained intact and flying toward the enemy's base. The damage caused by the meteor was minimal…

While hiding in the shadow of one of the debris, Rain nodded in satisfaction… he had to use a lot more mana than expected to implode the meteor, but now the enemy wouldn't be able to stop it completely.
