Infinite Wealth System: Crazy Tasks, Insane Rewards!

Chapter 147: The Meeting

Sure, there was no reported news of Sofia being the murderer or any talks about her, but Jayden completely believed she might have had a hand in this, because who else?

Killing only Lynna would have made it complicated to suspect anyone, but the fact that Mia was also a victim made it clear.

After taking her man from her, there was no way Sofia would have let it go, even though she was nowhere to be seen for many months.

Now, the news had caused a stir, and he knew this would involve him one way or the other because Lady Lynna was once his worker and had just left a few days ago.

Jayden knew this was trouble.

He soon revealed the news to the ladies the next day, but it turned out that the ladies had already heard about it.

Entering the living room, every one of them was present except Camilia.

"Where's Cammy?" Jayden asked with a curious look.

They all exchanged looks, showing that they had no idea, until Harper stepped up.

"Must be in her room. I'll just go fetch her," Harper said and walked away.

Jayden gave a nod.

"Lynna is dead," Jayden told Charlotte.

"Already knew. Don't worry, the cops will find who did it. It's... It's not really our problem at this point," Charlotte replied.

"No, I think it's her daughter," Jayden cut in.

"Her daughter? How can that be?" Temi asked with a chuckle, totally feeling his thoughts didn't make sense.

However, Jayden still remained strong in his suspicion.

"Her daughter... Sofia? The one who left for no reason?" Charlotte asked.

"She didn't actually leave for no reason. Something happened," Jayden said.

"What... happened?"

They all became curious, but Jayden suddenly decided that he wouldn't have to tell them what had happened.

He figured the best thing to do was to get to the root of it...

'Gosh... Perhaps I shouldn't have fired her,' he cursed.

'Perhaps she might still be alive.'

Sure, Jayden knew Lynna didn't deserve anything good from him, but he was sad about the fact that she ended up dying.

He never thought Sofia would go this far... That's if it was her, and if it wasn't really Sofia who had killed Lynna, then he would have to know.

Jayden shook his head and refused to explain, and in no time, Harper walked back into the room with Camilia, who was wearing a dark look on her face.

Jayden gave her a short look and sighed. He knew it was about last night.

At that same moment, he tried checking her affection.

[Affection: 99.9%.]

Despite what had happened, the affection wasn't even affected, which stunned Jayden. This clearly meant that no matter how much she was angered, it wouldn't affect her love for him.

Though on the outside, Camilia looked as if she would crush his skull with a stone if she had the chance.

He was happy that she didn't know he was indirectly seeing her inner mind, but he knew he still had to approach her.

He knew he would have to do something to make her happy again, but for now, they had a lot to do.

Taking Lynna and Sofia's case to the side, they went straight to talking about their projects.

"We have now officially produced 20 Wild Wings Aircrafts, and have commenced production of a uniquely modeled fighter jet. I and Harper have been trying our best to make the best out of it," Paula said.

Harper nodded. "Right. I'm trying to create something better than Icelandia's F-50. It wouldn't be an easy one but sure... I'll just take that as a trial."

Jayden nodded with a smile.

"About the bombers?" Jayden asked.

"On that, we are going to need some of Charlotte's expertise to figure out something unique. To stand against the World Powers, we are going to need something unique and even more powerful than theirs. If not, the stakes would be fifty-fifty when we get into a war, and our lower army numbers would fail us," Harper replied.

"True. If there's any common nuclear weapon we are creating, they have got it a hundred times over. I think Harper is right," Becky said.

"Of course, that's why she is the Defence Expert here," Jayden smiled as he stared at her.

Harper blushed and then turned to Camilia.

"Don't you want to say something?" she asked.

Camilia shook her head.

These two had been getting along after the first attack on Jayden on the bridge. After going to save him, they had been closer to each other than the rest, but even Jayden had noticed it.

"No."

Camilia didn't say anything else, which only made them shrug as they moved on.

"Well then... I have figured that we can actually hack their defense systems even without engaging in any war with them," Charlotte said.

They all struck glances at her, curious to hear her plans.

"If we can hack their defense systems and gain control over their satellites, they would clearly be rendered defenseless, and would only have the manpower army force to fight, which we could easily take down with our own bombers," she added.

"But... That's almost impossible," Paula said.

"Guess again," Charlotte replied with a wry smile.

"If I can find the passcode of the satellite systems, I can easily access it, change the passcode and have it installed only to my account. We would fully hijack it and with that... The big-mouthed President Liam Thompson would fall on his knees and beg."

"And if he doesn't?" Camilia suddenly asked after staying silent for long.

"Well, if he doesn't... that's where Team Harper comes in," Charlotte gazed at Harper, who curled her lips for a smirk.

"I went through President Liam's profile and made some findings. I think Camilia made a point by asking that question... He is not the easy type. He has many ways to counter his preys," Temi said.

"For God's sake, we are not his preys," Harper cut in.

"I don't mean that... just trying to prove a point," Temi spoke. "Six years back, there was a state located on a different island from the main Icelandian land. The people in this state were completely against his government and wanted to be independent, already revealing their ruler and had stopped calling themselves Icelandians."

"Guess what? President Liam sent a whole army to wipe out the entire population of the state in cold blood, including their supposed new President. The most astonishing part was that no one heard about it... About five hundred thousand citizens were sent from the main Icelandia to the state to reorganize the land."

"This is to tell you how cruel he could be. At this point, the best way to win against him is to eliminate him," Temi said.

"You mean kill him?" Charlotte asked.

"Yes," Temi replied.

Jayden saw a lot of sense in what Temi had said. She was the information expert, and they had to believe her when she got to see things like this.

Jayden was even surprised how he had never heard about what happened in White Isle. He was clearly aware of their protests for freedom some months ago, and then it suddenly died down after a while.

He never knew that the President had gone so far as to take down every life in the entire city.

That alone gave him every reason to end the life of the cruel President if he got the chance.

But for now, they had to do their planning, now that they had the time.

Their meeting finally ended after a long talk, and Jayden could judge that they all were doing really well in their jobs.

...

Jayden was about to meet up with Camilia when Harper approached him.

"I want you to come have a look at something at the Defence Unit," she said.

"Now? I..."

"Don't tell me you are busy, my love. It's something pretty important," she said.

Jayden hesitated for a moment before nodding. He then decided to go with her, since she really wanted him to come.

They headed out of the villa and drove to the Defence Unit.

A pretty large area, where Harper's masterpieces could be spotted all around.

"Twenty Wild Wings. We need thirty more, but it's going to cost us billions," Harper said.

"Money's not a problem, babe. All Units are going to be getting the funds they need," Jayden replied.

"Of course I know," Harper smiled. "But that's not why I brought you here."

She led Jayden into the building, and then to the conference room where a long table stretched across the small distance.

"Uhm... Why are we here?" Jayden asked.

Harper halted and turned towards him, then she walked over.

She struck a sharp glance at him and asked,

"Why do you always point your hands in midair? You often do it like you are seeing something on it, and it's worrying..."

Jayden's eyes widened.

"What do you see?"

Jayden flinched, not expecting such a question from her at this point.

"I have seen you doing it many times... Last night's was the twelfth time."

At this point, Jayden's jaw dropped.
