Chapter 505 - Unwanted Guests
I had to leave the attendants' hall quickly though it may look rude to Mr. Greg since I don't want my anger to flare up towards the wrong person. This academe thinks that I am joking about my privacy for some reason. They even have the audacity to do it while I am away on an immersion and added a whole freaking building without my permission!
I almost ran through the corridors of the academe, I was obviously not in the right state of mind for a bit since I did not even think that teleporting would have been a better option instead. It does not matter though since I reached the headmaster's room in record time, under a minute mind you, due to the adrenaline brought about by the combination of my annoyance and the irritation I feel about the absurdity of the whole situation.
I knocked loudly then opened the door wide and abruptly right after. The headmaster's head snapped up in attention at the sudden loud sound at the entrance of his office. When he saw me, he looked confused because of the big smile on my face that surely looked kind of creepy since the supposed happiness did not reach my eyes. I am actually quite angry right now.
I walked inside the room with big and heavy footsteps and stopped right in front of the headmaster's table. With my stance, it is obvious that I came here for a confrontation.
I asked with gritted teeth, still with the smile on my face, "Did you actually forget to discuss something with me, grandmaster? I believe it was something important like doing renovations to MY villa area without MY permission while I was away? And what is this about you dumping people on me again like I am some kind of a care facility? Are you even paying me for that? I only took in the others because they are either my attendants, my husbands or my soon-to-be husbands. I don't take in strangers from who knows where!"
The headmaster looked stunned and then as if realizing that he has indeed forgotten about discussing it with me earlier, he stood up and started to apologize while doing his best to calm me down. He started ushering me back to the cushioned seats in his receiving area and then started with stating the point that he had no choice in the matter. He started summarizing what happened while I was away that resulted in the situation we are in right now.
It seems like after I left that small town of Rigden, the priest that was assigned in that small church of Lumienere went back to the church's headquarters to report about seeing me and how I looked totally like the goddess in their history books. The academe then received a formal letter of request from the pope of the said religion regarding a partnership.
It was around the time that I reached the northern military camp so it was just a matter of a few days after that Priest Clarence reported it. That priest must have a high rank in that church since his superiors immediately believed what he reported. The church even made plans on what to do next and even acted upon those plans in a very short period of time.
As for the partnership, they requested that the academe receives and takes care of a batch of newly ordained priests that they will be sending in. The new priests will be staying for a semester at a time to learn courses on worldly matters to prepare them for their missions in the future. Once the first batch leaves after finishing three months, another set will be sent in to replace them.
All I can say is that this reasoning from the church officials was a total lie and a scam in my opinion!
Based on all the information I got about the Church of Lumienere from different sources, they obviously despise the idea of their priests stay too long outside the confines of the church even if it was for a task assigned by the higher ups or if they get too attached to people they meet during missions. They even go as far as erasing rhe memories of the priests that chose to leave and be with their chosen wives. They also remove all traces of the people who were "kicked out" of ever being connected with the church so why would they suddenly have their newly ordained priests study in a school full of mostly women and even learning worldly things at that?!
After the whole explaining that the headmaster has done, my first reaction was to laugh out loud at the ridiculousness of the whole situtaion. I ended up asking back, "And what does them coming here have anything to do with my home being expanded and renovated while I was away?"
The headmaster couldn't look me in the eye and couldn't answer immediately. He looked nervous and when he eventually talked, he reasoned out that the Athanoviya Empire and the Church of Lumienere has always been allies since they share some history with both being founded by entities from the same mystique race. He even reasoned out that the church took care of all the expenses and labor needed to built the annx6 and even gave extra to cover for the priests food and accommodations during their stay in the academe. He was indirectly telling me that the pope went straight to my in-laws for this request and the academe can't do anything to decline it.
I scoffed at the reasoning and told him directly that I will be placing a defensive barrier between my main villa and that extension area they constructed. I also told him with a smirk on my face that since they were generous enough with the budget then the academe has to take care of the men and everything they needed. With this, I am making my stance that those men are off limits to my personal space and I don't want to have anything to do with them throughout their stay here.
The headmaster's eyes widened at what I said but before he could complain, I teleported out of his office and reappeared inside my villa this time. As usual there was nobody home since all my husbands are either in my hometown, with their relatives or are busy with tasks and businesses that they have been assigned with. As for Arthur, I did not advise him that I will be back today so he should still be doing things to earn academe points some place else.
I quickly went out of the main door of my villa to look outside and check that annex that they have already added to my villa without my permission. Surprisingly, it was kind of huge and looked sturdy for something constructed fairly quickly. It looked like a long apartment complex with two floors where each floor has ten doors.
Out of curiosity, I approached the building and opened one of the doors and looked inside. It seems that it has already been fully furnished, and are now ready for occupancy once the new semester starts. Each room can house two people and they will be provided their own single bed, one study table each, two chair, a clothes dresser each, a bookshelf full of religious books, a shared dining table and their own small toilet and bathroom.
I only peeked into one room and did not bother to check the others. I was kind of impressed at how quick they were able to create this structure and even have fully furnished each one. I can't help but click my tongue since I think it would be hard to avoid these people. Ten rooms with two people inside each of them then at two floors of that equals to 40 priests from that cult... *coughs* religion. I am already having a headache with just one Clarence and they just had to go and multiply that amount to a sick amount of times.
I slowly went back to my villa and then extended the defensive barrier a bit. Its borders are exactly where the annex area starts in the yard. As usual only the people I allow will be permitted near my residence. I don't want to get any random or unwanted visits from these priests on times I am at home.
I sighed at my current predicament just when I thought I could have some type of peace since Ioannis is in Eieneos, Dimitri is in Arista, my two other husbands are outside the academ and Aurum and his entourage was in the palace.
I finally have this house all to myself for once and this thing just had to happen. I am no goddess since that was an ancestor of mine and definitely not the next saintess of their religion so they should just all get lost. Ugh.
Since I still have a few days before the next semester starts, I remembered that there is actually still one other important thing I have to handle outside the academe. It was a promise I made before I left for the immersion.
