Isu's boisterous crying eventually caused a commotion in the Franzel household.

Knights flocked to the source of the noise and were taken aback to see Isu holding his head, squatting before Reiger, and crying profusely.

"Master Isu!"

"Someone has attacked the young master!"

"Quick! Surround him!"

Without a second thought, the knights drew their swords, encircled Reiger, and dispatched a few to protect Isu.

"Charge!"

The leading elder knight immediately ordered, ready to lead the charge and take down Reiger.

However, just as an unnecessary conflict was about to ensue, a voice stopped everyone.

"Do not be rude to my sister's guest!"

Following the scolding, all the knights involuntarily halted.

Reiger too lifted his eyelids and looked in the direction of the voice.

Towards the direction of the mansion's doorway, a figure was striding quickly.

It was a girl still fairly young.

The girl bore a striking resemblance to Yuri, with equally conspicuous bright silver hair, cascading in shoulder-length waves down her back, gently swaying with each step as if confronting the wind.

However, unlike Yuri—who at times appeared naive as a child, cold as a queen, and again, elegant and noble like a wealthy young lady—the girl's expression was decidedly serious and her eyes were solemn, creating an impression of precocity.

"Miss Mistis!"

Seeing the girl approaching, the knights all kneeled on one knee.

"Mi-Mistis sister...!?"

The youngest, who had been crying bitterly, forcibly held back his tears, looking as though he had just seen something terrifying.

The girl arrived before Isu, her face stern.

"Isu, what nonsense are you up to now?"

The girl scolded her younger brother.

"I'm not being nonsensical!" Isu protested, shaking his head like a rattle-drums, pointing at Reiger and started to complain and defend himself, "It's all his..."

Before he could finish, the girl slapped down the hand Isu was using to point at Reiger.

"I don't remember teaching you to point at guests with your finger," the girl glared at her brother, and said, "It seems you need to relearn the etiquette class again. Isu, remember to free up your evening."

"No, Mistis sister!"

Isu cried out loudly as he began to sob again.

"Boys must not cry at the drop of a hat!" the girl was unsparing, "Can you even claim to be a Franzel with such behavior? Empty tomorrow night's schedule as well!"

At that, the youngest rolled his eyes, collapsed onto the ground, feigning unconsciousness.

The girl ignored her feigning brother and turned toward Reiger, giving him a bow.

"I apologize for the spectacle."

The girl spoke differently than before, not appearing harsh or strict, but rather exuded an air of easy grace. Her manners were impeccable, not making Reiger feel overly formal yet not being too casual either.

Clearly, this etiquette was the result of intensive practice, and the girl had put great effort into mastering it.

"You are Yuri's sister, aren't you?"

Reiger spoke up for the first time, his tone unconsciously softer as he regarded the seemingly precocious girl.

"I am Mistis Franzel, the fourth daughter of the Franzel family," Mistis nodded modestly to Reiger, and said, "The head of the household, Yuri Franzel, is indeed my sister, and this person lying here is my own brother. I apologize for the trouble he has caused you, and will disciple him strictly later, making sure he apologizes to you."

Upon hearing "strict discipline," Isu began to tremble uncontrollably on the ground, as if he was having a nightmare.

This made Reiger cast a glance of slight pity at the human ball on the ground, but it lasted only a moment before he looked away.

It couldn't be helped; the kid was overacting too much. Although it could be argued he was too young to understand, to present such a haughty noble bearing at such a tender age gave Reiger a feeling that the boy might grow up to be a spoiled scion.

Therefore, Reiger had uncharacteristically "bullied" a child, which, ostensibly, was to give the young brat a taste of society's harsh reality and to recognize the malice in people's hearts.

However, seeing Mistis's strict demeanor towards Isu reassured Reiger that he was probably worrying over nothing.

With such a sister, if the boy still turned into a spoiled scion, Reiger would actually be impressed.

Thus, Reiger smiled at Mistis, "There's no need for an apology; the young master isn't wrong—I am indeed merely a commoner. It's best if I don't receive an apology from nobility. Please just give him a proper education."

I would rather apologize!

The youngest lying on the ground roared inwardly.

Unfortunately, Mistis didn't hear him.

"I will," the girl said with a serious face, as if she had taken on a sacred mission, "But please, don't call me 'Miss.' Since you are a guest of the head of the household—my sister—it's proper simply to call me Mistis."

"Is that all right?" Reiger asked, "Even though I am but a commoner?"

"It has nothing to do with being a commoner," Mistis shook her head and said, "Until now, you are the first person my sister—the head—has considered precious enough to host as a guest. Therefore, we must not be disrespectful to you."

With those words, Reiger had a clearer understanding.

It seemed Mistis, the child of the Franzel family, was not only mature for her age and focused on etiquette but also held great respect for Yuri.

No, it wasn't just Mistis, even Isu, the youngest, was the same.

Otherwise, why would the young master have started by questioning Reiger if he was the man brought back by his sister?

The ill-natured tone at the time, upon closer scrutiny, indeed had a trace of sourness to it.

This little brat, could it be because he idolized his sister and she brought back a man, that he conjured up the notion of his sister being whisked away by some bad man, and out of jealousy, came to pick a fight?

If that was the case, then Reiger actually found the kid cuter than he had imagined.

Only...

"Am I the first guest that Yuri has brought home?"

Reiger looked toward Mistis.

"Yes," Mistis didn't suspect a thing and said, "There have been many guests who have taken the initiative to visit the head of the family, and they were also entertained, but for the head of the family to bring someone home like this for a proactive invitation, this is indeed a first."

At this point, Mistis also couldn't help but stealthily size up Reiger.

To think that his own sister would take the initiative to bring someone home, and bring a man at that, Mistis was just as surprised when he first found out.

But after the initial shock, Mistis became intensely curious about Reiger.

Exactly what kind of man would be brought home by his sister?

Could he be the future brother-in-law?

If that were the case, it wouldn't be bad.

The man looked decent. Although a commoner, he didn't show the subservience and obsequiousness typical when facing grand nobility. He had been calm throughout, and even their little brother with an outsized presence had seemed to come up short in front of him, so his abilities must not be lacking.

Since his sister said that he was her classmate, that proved he was a student at the Spriller Academy, and being able to study at one of the four greatest magic academies on the continent of Akasha meant he was a very promising magician with perhaps the potential to become a Tactical Level Magician.

A Tactical Level Magician, once a magician reaches this level, they would be immediately ennobled by the royal family and become part of the nobility.

Even if merely a Viscount or low-ranking nobility compared to a grand nobility house like the Franzels, at his young age, it wouldn't be difficult to make a name for himself on the battlefield and rise to the rank of Earl in the future.

And once he became an Earl, that would be a genuine member of the grand nobility, with only one rank below a Marquis.

Such a character, fit for his sister, would just about do.

At this moment, Reiger still didn't know that he had been thoroughly analyzed by the "in-laws" upon their first meeting, with even his future prospects taken into account.

If it weren't for Mistis not showing it and keeping it well hidden, he might have actually suspected that he was being evaluated by the "in-laws" as if he were a little boyfriend raised by Yuri and brought home.

He simply noted down Mistis's words, gaining a deeper understanding of Yuri's suppressed life at home.

The young lady who behaved like a chatty little girl in front of him, it seemed, truly had no friends.

Reiger sighed inwardly and then said to Mistis, "Since that's the case, I'll just call you Mistis directly, and you don't have to use formal language with me. I don't like that kind of thing."

"... All right." Mistis wanted to decline politely, but upon seeing Reiger's calm gaze, she paused and said quietly, "Since it's your request, I'll dispense with the formalities."

This girl was not only precocious but also quite adept at discerning others' speech and behavior.

Reiger's assessment of Mistis went up another notch.

Meanwhile, the person-shaped lump lying on the ground was now quietly shifting its body, looking to leave this problematic place.

"Isu."

Mistis's voice was as calm as a still well.

"Yes!"

The youngest sprang up straight as a rod, instantly standing at attention.

With her back to him, Mistis had the air of an executioner, calmly stating,

"Leave your schedule open for the evening after next."

"... Yes."

At that moment, Isu felt an urge to run away from home.

And then, the butler appeared.

"Miss Mistis, Master Isu."

The butler said respectfully.

"The master and elder young master have returned."

With those words, the mood in the room changed immediately.

Isu stopped talking.

A shadow flashed across Mistis's face.

"Understood," Mistis said with her head down, "We will be right there."

As she spoke, Mistis also gave Reiger an apologetic look.

"Don't mind me, go ahead."

Seeing this, Reiger gave Mistis a slight smile.

After apologizing, Mistis left with a shrinking Isu in tow.

Reiger watched the two leave, his thoughts heavy with contemplation.
