Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 1107: The familiar house

[Eon’s POV: ]

-Oooooooooong!

Unlike the normal teleportation spells, or the feeling one gets when using the warp gate or the Gate, we were transported to this place instantly.

’It did not feel anything special. In fact, I did not feel anything at all.’

At one moment, I was in the front yard and now…

"Wow…"

"Is that the gate? This place looks bigger than what I expected."

"Big brother? Are you alright?"

The familiar ground floor. The place I had seen countless times before.

The door leading outside before us, the magical elevator present on the side.

The Grand gate different from all the ancient artifacts that I saw even after getting out of here, and the floor that had the familiar patterns still fresh in my mind… I have been here many times, and I have lived in this familiar house for a pretty long time.

"It’s fine, Zoe. I’m alright."

I was feeling a bit nostalgic while Alf was surprised by the quality of Mana in this place. Carla was looking around in awe, seeing everything from the walls to the unique carvings around the Gate, while the rest of them were the same.

Zoe did not seem too surprised or anything, however, something was wrong with Rein.

"Sister Elle?"

"Elle… hey, what’s going on?"

She seemed stunned for a moment as if she had fallen into deep thoughts. She also looked a lot more pale for some reason, but when Del touched her, she flinched visibly and came back to her senses.

"...?!"

She looked around in shock and did not know what was happening for a moment, but then she shook her head, thought about where she was, and after looking at me specifically with wide eyes, she shook her head and looked to the other side, on the clock mounted on the wall.

"Rein? What’s going-."

"Shhhh! Wait a minute!" she cut me off with a shout and continued staring at the wall, looking at it with a dark expression.

One second passed, and the dark expression got darker.

"Oh…"

Another second, and the already darker expression turned into that of confusion.

"Then… doesn’t that mean…"

She was confused for a moment, then she looked at me… then looked back at the wall and the clock once again, closed her eyes, thought about something, looked at the clock once more and then, finally… she looked back at me.

"Did you know already?" She questioned without any context, confusing everyone else that were looking at her with the same bewildered expression as me.

"Knew what…?"

I had no idea what she was talking about.

’It must be related to time or the flow of time.’

I had always had a feeling that there was something wrong with the clocks in this tower but I had never thought about it too deeply.

Seeing her reaction though…

"The time."

It seems like the matter is more serious than I might have expected. Find your next read at NovelBin.Côm

"The time flow is three times slower here… it’s more than three times slower, actually."

"...what?"

"...?!"

"Three times what?!"

The flow of time was different in some special places and one would be able to tell that just from the weird feeling of delay that they would innately feel.

It was closely related to space and the unique world mass of the area as well as the unique energies present in these places, but anyone– even common people– would get a hint about it as soon as they entered this field.

’But, you’re telling me I lived in a place with a three times slower flow of time for so long and never caught on to it?’

How was that even possible?!

"Rein, are you sure-."

"Are you doubting me even when this is related to time?"

"..."

The serious and disappointed expression that she had did not contain anger but she still felt upset because I was doubting her right now.

The matter was related to time, and even if she wanted to, she could not be wrong about it.

"Right. I’m sorry…"

She was an anomaly cursed with a constant perception of ’time’.

The concept of time was not what we were talking about here. She had this innate link with a certain central flow that made her perceive each moment that passes in a standardised manner unique to her own perception.

In a way, it was a curse that made her feel each and every moment that was passing despite her unique racial characteristics. But in times when one needed to measure the time delay in certain places like these, there was no better detector than this anomaly witch before us.

"Haaa. It’s fine. I know it’s hard to believe since the delay has somehow been made to be perceived normally with some kind of strange technique.

It’s not your fault that you never knew about it. It’s not possible to tell the difference without having this cursed perception in the first place."

Not everyone present knew about her ’curse’ until now. But, now that she had said that, the others knew there was something about her that they still did not know about.

"Ummm…"

Del wanted to ask what was going on here, and the others also wanted to ask what Rein meant by that, but the two of us just shook our heads and decided to not reveal her anomaly or the ’curse’ just yet.

It would just cause more trouble for the rest of them if they know the secrets that we share.

"Anyway." So, looking at Zoe, I tried to change the subject.

"Should we go look for Anna now?"

The primary objective for coming here was to find and check up on Anna’s condition, and only after we complete this will we get to do anything else.

’And, since I don’t see her anywhere here, it seems like she moved on to some other floor.’

Rein and I caused a scene for a moment, but that does not matter right now.

Time flows slowly here, so we’ll just have a little longer to do everything we want. In fact, now that I know the time flows differently, we will get more time to do what we want.

"Eon… you’re going to ignore the time delay?" President Zodiac was worried about Anna as well, but the fact that there was a strange time delay here did not make sense to him.

He was confused at first, but then he shook his head at Del and stepped.

"Right. Miss Anna is more important right now."

They needed to look for Anna with us, so Carla and Alf also shook off their worries and nodded at each other.

"Hey… but… where are we going to look for her? Just how big is this place?" Quin asked with a worried expression right after that.

"Right. You all don’t know much about the tower."

They did not know much about it but they had come here with me so I needed to look after them and show them around this place.

"Zoe?"

And, if we needed to look for Anna anyway, there was a way that was much better than going around each of the floors and looking after her.

"Yes big brother."

-Oooooooooooong!

Since the tower was a gift from master to both of us, it was a home to both Zoe and me.

She might not have lived here her entire life, but her mother, the previous body that she was born from, had made this place for her as well.

’She was technically a fragment of the creator, so she could use functions of the tower that even I could not.’

One of these functions…

"This is our tower house and the area around it covered by a ’boundary’ barrier is also a part of it."

Zoe called out a miniature replica model of the tower that resembled the tower perfectly.

Even the color of the tower, the timeless look of grass outside, the flowers, the dark stones that it was made from.

The various facilities that were visible from a cross section cut in the middle, as well as a glimpse of the facilities inside of it.

There were many floors, some were shrouded in darkness, some were as clear as this ground floor, and connecting all of these floors was the elevator in the middle.

"Wow…" Including Chry and grandfather, the others were surprised to see this place. But not everyone was looking at the tower with stars in their eyes.

"You didn’t say this place was going to be so big, you know? How are we supposed to find a child in a place this big?" Del was concerned how we were going to find Anna here.

"Could she be in danger…? I see many dangerous floors here as well." Even Aunt Mime was worried about her now that she was seeing the monster area, the summoning area, as well as a glimpse of the various labs that we have.

The tower was not simply a fun house like many would believe. Even Rein was surprised to actually see the place I had told her so much about in person.

"We won’t have to go look around for her, if you’re worried about that."

Zoe enabled the detection function of the miniature hologram, and all the realistic colors of the tower faded away and the whole place turned into a ’blue’ print.

There were two white dots on the ground floor, one green, and nine yellow dots along with them.

Somewhere on the first floor, there was another yellow dot accompanied by a green dot.

"See? She’s not in any dangerous place."

I was relieved to see that she is at least moving around the place so it meant she was fine. And since Mr. Rice was with her, she must be doing well as well.

"Should I pull up the live footage?"

Since this was our house, we could do a lot of fun things here. Zoe could even see the different floors from anywhere around the tower.

"I have an idea what she might be doing there already."

But there was no need to look at what she might be doing on this specific floor.

’She has become a summoner, after all.’
