Journey to the West: Treasure Vase of the Great Dao

Chapter 90 Immortal Cave Heaven

The Green Serpent Demon angrily drew his sword, but the Great Sage Huangfeng didn't even care, the disparity in strength was so great that it didn't even arouse his desire to fight.

He stretched out his hand and with just a gentle grab, he caught the Green Serpent Demon by the neck and lifted him into the air.

"I originally thought about sparing your life, but your clothes really disgust me," said the Great Sage Huangfeng in a menacing tone, his eyes shimmering with frightening cold light.

Being held in the air by the Great Sage Huangfeng, the Green Serpent Demon's demonic power was suppressed, leaving him to struggle helplessly with his body, hoping to escape from the clutches of the Great Sage Huangfeng. Despite his frantic struggles, that hand was like an iron vice, locking him in tightly, unable to break free.

The little demons who had been waving flags and cheering for the Green Serpent Demon outside the Wind Caves had never seen such a ferocious scene. The Great King, invincible in their minds, now resembled a helpless chick with no power to resist. They stood frozen, their once-waving flags quietly dropping to the ground.

The Green Serpent Demon was still struggling valiantly, his eyes looking at the Great Sage Huangfeng filled with malice, full of pleading and fear. But the Great Sage Huangfeng was unmoved, just staring at him coldly while slowly increasing the force in his grip.

Thus, the once formidable Green Serpent Demon of Huang Fengling slowly closed his eyes filled with fear and despair.

The surrounding little demons had already knelt on the ground. For them, the Great Sage Huangfeng, who could kill their Great King so easily, was the true powerhouse, and clinging to the strong was always their nature.

"From now on, this is my turf," the Great Sage Huangfeng declared to the many little demons kneeling on the ground, using the momentum of just having killed the Green Serpent Demon.

The little demons hurriedly offered their loyalty, for to them, whoever had the mightiest fist was their Great King; loyalty was nonexistent.

"We pledge allegiance to the Great King!" The cries of the demons echoed through Huang Fengling, heralding the end of Green Serpent Demon's rule and the arrival of a new master.

"From now on you will be the vanguard of my Wind Caves," the Great Sage Huangfeng, feeling quite pleased with the scene, said as he patted the Tiger demon's shoulder with a smile.

"As you command, Great King!" The Tiger demon was naturally overjoyed. He knew he had latched onto a strong leg and could now strut around this territory with impunity.

Flanked by the little demons, the Great Sage Huangfeng entered the Wind Caves with great fanfare, beginning the most prideful and joyous period of his life. Had fate not sent the Tang Monk and his companions his way, perhaps he could have continued living so carelessly, but destiny had already silently scripted his story.

Upon discovering that the Great Sage Huangfeng had escaped, Lu Yu wasn't angry, knowing this wasn't his final destination. Even without him, someone else would drive him out; his fate had been scripted the moment he fled Mount Ling.

"Worthy of Buddhism, such methods, silent and subtle, like destiny's manipulation, only a Buddhism deep in its study of the laws of cause and effect could accomplish this," Lu Yu marveled inwardly, gaining a clearer understanding of the power of Buddhism. He soared on a cloud, continuing towards the Five Elements Mountain. Halfway there, he suddenly felt a tremble in space, as if a realm was slowly merging with the Three Realms.

"Could it be the Cave Heaven that once vanished within the space rift?" Lu Yu murmured to himself, aware that as Journey to the West drew near, the stable heavens and earth within the Three Realms had gradually relaxed, revealing some of the hidden Immortals' abodes and smaller worlds that had been concealed within the spatial layers of the universe to the eyes of the world.

Interest sparked within his heart, for the appearance of these spaces often signified opportunities, likely remnants left behind by Immortals; within them might be found Spells, Divine Skills, Magical Treasures, and Pills.

Following his intuition, he quickly arrived at an open space and saw a black crack appear in the empty void, like a glass mirror that had suddenly fractured, missing a piece.

Standing before the crack, Lu Yu could clearly sense a formidable aura hidden within, indicating that the master of this space was unquestionably no weakling.

He leaped into the crack and faintly perceived some resistance from the space. This was because he had already stimulated the Five Qi; the circulation of the Five Qi in his body was like that of an unformed world, which would naturally face rejection by the space. If his Five Qi had reached completion, the space probably couldn't have withstood his entrance at all.

Shortly after Lu Yu's figure entered the space, a group of people clad in various colored garments arrived at the location, three men and a woman: a monk, a Taoist, an old crone, and an ugly man radiating with poison.

The group looked travel-worn and exhausted, the old crone breathing heavily as she said, "Poison Old Fiend, it's all your fault. You had to kill that snake demon; now look where that's gotten us, chased to the point where there's no way to heaven or land. If not for the formation that deadbeat Taoist stole from the Sect, we'd all be dead because of you."

The others also looked at the ugly man with reproachful eyes. His face filled with regret, he said bitterly, "You all know I practice a Technique that requires consuming the Five Poisons. That snake demon was a Green Bamboo Leaf, a top-notch specimen. Having encountered it, how could I let it pass? Who knew it had such a powerful lover."

The ugly man was also filled with regret, as the man chasing them was far too formidable, seeming not of the mortal world. They had only just managed to escape with their lives by employing every trick they had.

"What use is there in saying these things now? My formation can only trap him for so long. We'd better make plans quickly; otherwise, once he catches up with us, we're as good as dead," the Taoist suddenly spoke.

"Amitabha, in this humble monk's opinion, there must be an Immortal's abode hidden here. Why don't we enter and hide? When the place is teeming with a mix of fish and dragons, even if that person catches up, he won't be able to find us for a while," proclaimed the monk as he chanted a Buddha's name.

"That Lustful Monk has a point. Let's do that," the old crone supported the idea first.

In truth, their greed had taken over; after all, an Immortal's abode was right in front of them. To ask such people to give it up was more distressing than death itself.

"What are we waiting for then? Let's get in quickly; otherwise, if that person catches up..." The ugly man, already scared witless, was the first to enter the crack, with the others following close behind, one by one entering the rift.

Not long after, a fierce wind came sweeping through, and a burly man walked out from it, his face covered in meaty ridges, an icy killing intent evident.

He grabbed at the void, brought his hand to his nose and sniffed, saying, "Those little thieves have indeed entered the space. This time, even if you flee to the ends of the earth, Old Pig will kill you."
