Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Two Sides of Love
That night, Lucas walked home with mixed feelings. He had just accepted Saeko's love, but at the same time, he also had to face his own feelings for Takagi.
When he arrived home, Lucas sat on his bed, staring at the ceiling.
"Saeko is truly amazing…" he thought. "Not only did she accept me, but she also accepted my feelings for Takagi. But will Takagi feel the same way?"
Lucas wasn't sure, but one thing was clear—he needed to take this seriously.
Lucas went about his usual routine—training, studying, joking around with his friends. But there was one major change—Saeko was noticeably closer to him.
Not in an intrusive way, but more like… she was showing that she had truly chosen Lucas.
And Takagi definitely noticed.
During lunch break, Takagi approached Lucas, who was relaxing under a tree.
"You look different," she said as she sat beside him.
Lucas glanced at her and smirked. "Different how?"
Takagi gave him a sharp look. "Don't play dumb. You've gotten closer to Saeko, haven't you?"
Lucas sighed. "Yeah… you could say that."
Takagi crossed her arms, looking thoughtful. "Hmph, I didn't expect that swordswoman to fall in love too."
Lucas chuckled. "You sound jealous."
Takagi scoffed. "Don't be ridiculous. I'm just… surprised."
Lucas studied her for a moment before finally speaking seriously. "Takagi… I want to be honest with you. I love you."
Takagi's eyes widened. "W-What?"
Lucas smiled. "I'm not joking. I've really liked you since the first time we started having real conversations."
Takagi looked shocked and slightly flustered, but she quickly turned her gaze away. "Y-You're such an idiot… saying something like that so casually…"
Lucas just chuckled. "Better to be honest than to hide my feelings, right?"
Takagi still seemed a bit confused, but then she took a deep breath and looked at Lucas. "So… you love me, but you also love Saeko?"
Lucas nodded without hesitation. "Yeah. I don't want to lie to either of you."
Takagi was silent for a moment before sighing softly. "I don't know if I can accept this…"
Lucas gave her a gentle smile. "I won't force you. I just wanted you to know how I really feel."
Takagi bit her lip, then stood up, looking slightly frustrated. "I need time to think about this…"
Lucas nodded. "I understand."
As Takagi walked away, Lucas could only hope that he could find the best path for all of them.
