Chapter 14: Chapter 14: An Unexpected Date
Saturday had finally arrived. Lucas dressed casually—black t-shirt, gray jacket, and jeans. He had no idea where Takagi would take him, but he was definitely curious.
When Lucas arrived at the meeting place, he saw Takagi already waiting in front of a large building. What surprised him the most was her outfit—she wore a stylish yet casual ensemble, with shorts and a denim jacket, giving off a relaxed yet classy vibe.
Takagi crossed her arms and looked at Lucas with an appraising expression. "You're on time. Good."
Lucas grinned. "Of course. I wouldn't want to keep a beautiful woman waiting."
Takagi scoffed lightly, though a faint blush appeared on her cheeks. "Hmph, idiot."
Lucas glanced at the building behind her and raised an eyebrow. "So… where are we going?"
Takagi smirked confidently. "I'm taking you to a place where only smart people can enjoy their time."
Lucas frowned. "Don't tell me this is a library or something…"
Takagi patted his shoulder. "Just follow me and see for yourself."
As they entered the building, Lucas quickly realized where they were—a museum of technology and military history.
Lucas glanced at Takagi with an amused look. "So, this is your idea of a date?"
Takagi smiled smugly. "Are you disappointed?"
Lucas shrugged. "Not at all. I actually like places like this."
Takagi looked surprised. "Oh? I thought you preferred more laid-back places like cafés or movie theaters."
Lucas chuckled. "I do enjoy relaxing, but I also like learning new things. Besides, this is interesting."
Takagi studied him for a moment before giving a small smile. "You're making me even more curious about you, Lucas."
The two of them spent their time exploring the museum, discussing various technologies and military strategies on display. Lucas quickly realized how passionate Takagi was about this topic, and he found himself enjoying their conversation just as much.
By the time they left the museum, the sun was beginning to set.
Takagi gazed at the evening sky and let out a soft sigh. "I have to admit… I had fun today."
Lucas smiled. "Me too. Turns out, a date with you is more interesting than I expected."
Takagi turned her face away slightly, as if embarrassed. "Don't get too full of yourself."
Lucas looked at her seriously. "Takagi… I'm still waiting for your answer."
Takagi was silent for a moment before meeting his gaze with softer eyes.
"I can't give you an answer yet… but I'm not rejecting you, Lucas."
Lucas smiled, feeling that was enough for now.
That evening, Takagi walked Lucas to the station, and just before they parted ways, she hesitated before speaking.
"Next time… I'll follow you to a place of your choosing," she said quietly.
Lucas smirked. "Alright, ma'am. I'll make sure it's something special."
Takagi let out a small huff before walking away, leaving Lucas with an even stronger feeling—he was truly getting closer to her.
