Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Second Date
After talking with Saeko, Lucas thought about the best way to ask Takagi out on another date. He knew Takagi wasn't the type of girl who could be approached in the usual way.
The next day, during lunch break, Lucas found Takagi in the library. As always, she was engrossed in a book about classic war strategies.
Lucas pulled out a chair across from her and grinned. "Quite the serious reading. Are you planning strategies to defeat zombies that haven't even shown up yet?"
Takagi scoffed but didn't lift her eyes from the book. "I just enjoy studying tactics. You never know when knowledge like this might come in handy."
Lucas leaned back in his chair. "That's great and all, but I didn't come here for a strategy lecture."
Takagi finally closed her book and narrowed her eyes at Lucas. "Then why are you here?"
Lucas smiled casually. "I want to take you on another date."
Takagi blinked, looking surprised. "Y-You're serious?"
Lucas nodded. "Yeah. I don't want to just wait for your answer. I want you to know me better before making a decision."
Takagi was silent for a moment before sighing. "You really are stubborn, aren't you?"
Lucas chuckled. "I just don't want to give up that easily."
Takagi studied him for a moment, then gave a small smirk. "Alright. But this time, I'm choosing the place."
Lucas raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Now I'm curious. So, where are we going?"
Takagi crossed her arms and smiled confidently. "You'll find out later. Saturday afternoon—don't be late."
Lucas nodded. "Got it, ma'am."
Takagi scoffed, but there was a subtle sparkle in her eyes. "Let's see if you can keep up with my standards."
Lucas just smiled. He knew this date would be different from the last one—and he couldn't wait to see what kind of surprise Takagi had.
